As long as the black community remains silent on the issue it will devastate us. The gay community figured this out long ago. HIV is taboo in most societies but in the black community not only is it taboo, but it is not discussed at all. We talk openly about racism, religion, music, crime, but this discussion has not been brought to the forefront. Every parent especially black mothers, need to sit down and have this discussion with their kids and have it often.
