Sigh. I remember waking up every Saturday morning in 5th grade at 6:30 am, not to watch cartoons, but to play a skirmish of this game. By 10 am, the Atreides' and Ordos' bases were squashed by my Devastators and Gun Platforms. I miss being a kid and not having to worry about anything! :(

Victory is Inevitable, Dark Alliance, Surrounded, War for the Spice.... Harkonnen really do have the very best songs in this game. It´s weird, Klepacki was really disappointing. Out of all Atreides scores, I think only Infiltrating Harkonnen was quite up to the standard set by for example this song. Even the techno tracks of the Ordos are better. Not an Option, the Strategist, The Specimen and A plan of attack are my favourite Ordos songs.

I know. That´s what I said, "Klepacki was really disappointing". As you know, Arkenstone and Mendelson did the Harkonnen and Ordos tracks, respectively, while Frankie (in my opinion) made some less-than memorable tracks for the poor Atreides.

Maybe it's just that Harkonnen songs (and Ordos songs in my opinion, disregard this if you wish) are a bit better than the Atreides songs and NOT that Atreides' songs are downright bad. Or it could be personal opinions...

IMHO the harkonnen soundtrack was the best of the three. The atreides had maybe one nice theme, the ordos had some ugly techno.

it was quite disappointing to know that klepacki composed the Atreides tracks but diddnt come out that good like what you'd expect from the composer of CnC and RA series.

Meh, just played the same songs over and over. The songs were good at first but repeating them over and over to me is just plain annoying. Oh and nostalgia? Thats because generals has'nt been out for as long as "sun". Playing real old games like baldurs gate and deus ex releases that feeling. You tell me that those soundtracks were bad. Oh btw, hope you had a good christmas :D.

suns soundtrack was supposed to be dreary and apocalyptic..with a few exceptions. it did the job though i would have rather had a better action soundtrack, which firestorm kind of improved.

True. Tbh, I didnt play much of either and even though I didnt, I heard the same tracks repeated every time. Action soundtrack? Oh yea, they defo shoulda done that. Something like RA3 perhaps ^^, heh heh heh. Or maybe they just didnt have a good composer? Who can rightly say, I says.

@Ultragoon Tiberian Sun soundtrack perfectly fitted the game, giving it an exclusive atmosphere. Same with Tiberian Dawn, Red Alert 1 and Generals soundtracks.

I don't like the Ordos music. It fits the Ordos well, but I don't like it. Atreidis music is fairly good, but I liked the original Dune 2000 soundtracks more.

No, the Harkonnen music makes it epic. Especially Defenders of Arrakis, Dark Alliance, Tribute to Evil, Harkonnen Force and this one.

Seriously, the Harkonnen music has always been the best in the Dune series. :)
