Downtown New York or parts of London are much much more dangerous. This is the safest place I've been and there is no risks of danger. If you respect the locals they will be more hospitable and friendly than most people in west.

No! It isn´t dangerous at all. It´s Jordan. But Yemen is dangerous, indeed.

Depends where you are in Yemen, not all areas in Yemen are dangerous. If you dress like a westerner and make it obvious that you are from the West, then yes, there could be problems. Sanaa'a the Capital city is not dangerous, according to my experience.
