Collard greens, corn meal dumplins, yams, etc. I had to leave the neck bones, ham hocks, and chittlins out (vegetarian). This ain't nothing but pure FUNK.
Have mercy, this is bad. Sho nuf sho nuf!!! One of the greatest from HRH Sly. Music is defined as the ability to illustrate to illuminate to educate & to entertain. Make you think, too. That's Sly, HRH Sly. Have mercy. krxn11
my mama gave me a song and said son sang record thankful and thoughtful be such a nice thang people gotta be reminded of where it's really at, make your daddy happy mama likes it like that
None better than Sly. I saw him in 1974 in Bloomington Indiana and he tore it up man, like you wouldn't believe. Love you Sly. I would like to hear something new from Sly.
This is SOUL music writ large. Not in some bullshit cliche'd "funky soul brotha" way, but a real "from the pulpit" deep 'n bluzey type vibe. Great stuff.
To me, who saw Sly Stone perform live many times, this is my favorite song. Sly is Fundamentaism taken to an Evangelical level........especially if you were 'peeking' just as he came on sate in 1968.
Best lp ever

Even though people know of him just like James Brown, Sly Stone is still very much so underrated.

The thing that put Sly ahead of all the competition in his prime was his way with lyrics....no one in R&B/Funk could touch him then.
