The video is great but I guess that the meaning of the song is about the relationship between Dave and Martin. After the SOFAD era Depeche Mode was a mess and Martin never really spokes about it in press etc... So this song is like a celebration of a true friendship between these two great man and it's important that Martin sings it.

In SOTU you can also listen to Fragile Tension, this songs speaks about the band today.

Anyway Ultra is the most painfull and beautiful era of Depeche Mode.

I just wanted to roam the halls n listen to this great song. I was trying to have a nice, profound moment wandering the empty halls reflecting on my life at this point. Than the damn hall monitor woman ruined the whole thing! BITCH! When I hear this song I can still sense and smell the halls of my high school.
