i never quite got it: why did Hiei cut his arm off? If he wanted to block, why not use the flat side of the blade and quickly turn it to cut the dude? It would not have taken significant time to do that considering he intended to step on the guy's circular blade.

If he used the flat of the blade he would not have been able to do it because the likelyhood of his sword breaking would be higher at that moment.... Also, I believe Hieh assumed they had the tech to regenerate or reattach his arm. I MEAN, THEY REVIVED SHIGURE FOR FUCKS SAKE!!

Sasukeyup is actually closer to the correct answer than you were. Yusuke is a decendant or Raizen, Raizen's demon blood lay dormant in his decendants for thousands of years until one of them (Yusuke) was strong enough to handle the transformation.

Hiei cut his arm off so he could effectively dodge the circular weapon wielded by Shigure. Sure there could have been better ways to do it but Hiei figured he was no match for him anyway. What you don't see though is Hiei slicing off half of Shigure's head.

well the three strongest demons are yomi, yusuke, and hiei. kurama will never go yoko again and makuro is only strong when she is angry and depressed. she isnt anymore because of hiei. but to me i dont care for those guys. i care for SENSUI. my fav anime character of all time. 5/5 and fav man. message me again and will talk more about DBZero.

well, he did that so he could cut that guys head off, it was either lose his arm, or lose his life cause he was in the air so the only way to block the attack was with his sword which cut off his hand
