I would never want to hear anyone else venture it -- they couldn't possibly compare! It's like Peggy singing FEVER or Bobbie's ODE TO BILLY JOE or Vicki Lawrence with her single: The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia.
It has the addictive quality of a blockbuster hit;

Seriously, this song runs through my head even on days when I don't watch your vid! I just see it as a major hit. And you could perform it live because of your incredible vocal range and control. Like Loreena McKennitt, whose Mummer's Dance is also haunting and addictive. I'm typically a listener of instrumental music only. So you're one of a limited number of exceptions: Ella, Peggy, Julie, Enya, Loreena, Candace, and now Maureen! (oops, Astrud and Lani! Mustn't forget my Bossa beauties!) :)
Although, my one proposal to a dance was denied; my longing for her company continued throughout my lifetime. Exchanged glances on an eighth grade field trip to Chicago and a chance meeting at a candy store have provided fleeting thoughts of a rekindling of love, but it most not have been. Obama promises change but the people he is appointing are the ones that deregulated banks during Clinton which opened the door for the current economic problems we are having. He's leaving Gates to run the wars and he was appointed by Bush. I hope he just didn't make promises to get elected. I don't see any signs of a change yet. Actually I am impressed by Obama's even tempered rational approach. He's approaching the most important job carefully rather than just knee jerk cleaning house like past presidents have done. IMO it's the right approach to give people a chance. If they screw up then fire them.
Hi Liz. I kept hearing it said on "Democracy Now" that now we have someone who seems ready to listen. Now we have to get him to hear us. If our voice is strong, change might truly occur. I got a new webcam for Christmas and the song will be one of my first projects. Hope your Holidays have been great.
