@FukkinBarbie I used it the week before I got a perm to prep my hair for the relaxer. My hair came out fine. I used it the week before the perm, and the next wash after the perm. Then each wash following that, I used only moisturizing shampoos and conditioners so that I wouldn't get protein overload. I used the aphogee just to add some strength to the hair, since a perm breaks down the hair and weakens the bonds.
@2010marymary I used it once a week for 4-5 weeks. Then stopped. I found it was very drying to my hair, and my hair became hard and brittle due to protein overload. I also hadn't been following up with a moisturizing conditioner, which I suggest to anyone using the aphogee line follow up with.
thank you binkynbree. i've never used olive oil perm. I go to the salon to have my hair relaxed, and I've only had two types of relaxers used in my hair : mizani regular relaxer, and revlon regular relaxer. thats it. how do you find the olive oil perm?
Oh lol, Out of the 2 perms i've used before olive oil is the best one i've used. like the 3rd time i used it i could really tell that it was helping my hair, you could tell it was getting healthier. and it added ALOT more body to it.
yes my hair is relaxed. wish i had my hair natural, but i'm fully not able to handle natural hair and have to press it to death to get it straight. not me ;)
I have started using Aphogee since February, I live in edmonton Alberta, there is a hair store here called Images and Shades, it's the only place I found to carry all Aphogee and Kera care. My only thing is I can't find the Leave -In Reconstruct Green Tea so I use Keracare oil moisterizer
thats unfortunate that you cant find the green tea reconstructorizer. thats the only thing i use for the aphogee line these days. love it to death. how is the keracare oil moisturizer working out for you?
Well, I have stopped using the full aphogee line, I find that my hair feels hard after washing so I have mixed it up. I still use the leave in Provitamin, and the reconstructor with Elasta Intense shampoo. I'm still trying to find that Aphogee Green tea reconstructorizer. As for Keracare, I like their Humecto Conditioner and moisterizer, I find when I use it my hair is soft and no breakage
ok, this is what i do. Products and all, when it came to using strictly aphogee. So first I rinsed my hair, no product. applied the shampoo for damaged hair. washed with it twice. the towel dried a bit. put in the 2 minute. the plastic cap. let it sit for 10 minutes, no heat. washed it out, and towel dried. then i sprayed on the provitamin leave in, the green tea, and put some chi. i saturated my hair like whoa! drips and all.
then i used my blow dryer with the pick novel. love me that hair dryer. so after that, i blow dried stick straight. then pressed with the flat iron. and thats it. i put nothing else in my hair for the entire week. thats how i get the bounce, NO PRODUCT ONCE THE HAIR IS DRY. when i put product in after the hair is dry, my hair loses the bounce and stops moving as freely. but i did put quite a bit of leave in and green tea reconstructorizer in while it was wet.
markham and lawrence ins scarborough has two black beauty supply stores that carry it. east end beauty, and discount beauty. discount is located on markham road. and east end is located on lawrence. hope that helps
It looks good already. I don't know what it looked like before, but it certainly looks quite healthy. I like the cut, also. Keep posting so we'll know if you're continuing to like the Aphogee products. I've been using them for 4 weeks now and I like them.
my hair hadn't looked as shiny and bouncy before. i like the aphogee products too, but not to use the whole line every week. i chickened out because my hair started to get kind of dull, using the aphogee shampoo and leave in. now i just use the 2 minute every 2 weeks, and use the green tea reconstructorizer every week, and i find my hair feels lighter, and softer. i started using mizani shampoo/conditioner along with aphogee. thanks for the compliment!
how soon can u use this after you get a perm . ?
