i have MET DAVID GILMOUR... he has been my hero since the age of 6 or 7. i first saw him on tv live in venice. i stayed up with my dad on the night it came on live on the tv. i now have a candy apple red strat... and on the 16th august 2008 at 20:16pm i was in the line for a hot dog to turn round to him standing right behind..... it must have been my destany to meet my idol and hero......
Who is the person interviewing David Gilmour ? They did an interview in 2008 talking about the Black Strat and it was made when there was the chance to win a David Gilmour Custom Shop Fender Stratocaster (it was called "Win a DG Strat"). A part of that thing is on youtube and it's the official video from the Fender Custom Shop.
Im 16 and I have a lot of Pink Floyd stuff in my room i went to The Wall concert that Roger Waters did and if Pink Floyd comes back with the few members on tour I will go. Pink Floyd is my favorite band and enough said they are the best!!! Keep Rocking!!!!
Yeah,I also think my 94 show in atlanta, the division bell tour is it,Roger keeps touring, but thats not Floyd, gotta have David, and Richard is gone,so,hopefully David will tour again.
I am a 21 year old Floyd fan, they are and have been my favourite band since the ages of 10 when my uncle gave me 'Echoes: The Best of Pink Floyd'. See Emily Play got me hooked at that tender age and I haven't looked back since, I couldn't put into words how important this band is to me. They have literally been the soundtrack to my life, they have help me through the bad times and taken the good times to a completely new level. It makes me immensely sad that I will never see Floyd live...
@dobindave well i guess i was lucky i got to see them live twice in 94..well the Gilmour floyd..and it was my first concert ever ....just wish i was 10 years older ..so i could have seen them mor times and other great bands
@justme6263 you love this band? trust me - find a copy of the October 1971 San Diego California bootleg. i have been mad about floyd for going on 25 years, but that recording is the holy grail. it is one of the most beautiful things i've ever known...
@justme6263 Wow.. thanks for writing down my thoughts about Pink Floyd. In fact I was 8, when I first hear the wish you were here album (my favourite!) which belongs to my father, but the rest fits! (I am also 21, Pink Floyd is my favourite band which plays an important role in my life).
The only shame is, that after seeing Roger Waters "The Wall" tour 5 month ago, I don`t think that I will ever see something which can top this. We were born too late my friend... But THAT music never dies!
@Lincoln424242 saw it last summer (2011) one helluva show....took three guitarist to replace dave though & it still wasnt quite right compared to 1977 the 'animals' tour which was quadrophonic sound (first ever).......saw floyd again (minus roger) in the 90's when they opened there show with the entire 'dark side'......they were as perfect as anyone i've ever seen in the last 40 years of concert going........then saw roger solo w/ clapton on guitar (90's)
I was working in a club in Hershey, PA and cooking for the masses when the appearance on LiveAid came on a telly in the kitchen. I stopped everything and stood absolutely transfixed for the fleeting moments this reunion took place. Even the threat of termination did not move me, as I was certain this would be the only time I could experience Pink Floyd in their glory, as it was. I lament at this stage I was correct, but still their music resides within me.
I'll always love Pink Floyd. This was a great interview; as always, a pleasure. To this day, even that little bit of "Breathe" still brings a welcome chill over me.
Pink Floyd is my favorite band no doubt, but I often forget how magical their music really is and how timeless it is. When I listen to Us and Them I always remember. There seems to be nothing more beautiful than the music and timelessness of Pink Floyd.
Of all the people in the world , Mr. Gilmour and Mr. Waters are the two people I would MOST love to meet and be afforded the time to visit with, Icons I wish to live forever. Altough they have many works of true ART, I wish they had 10 times the material / music currently available. I wish they would get back together as they are true genuises of music, I hang on EVERY note of their masterpieces

@2braindamage nor would we want to... if one wasn't lucky enough to have caught them live between 1969 and 1975, it's all better left to the imagination.
@2braindamage Well Rick is not longer with us, so no, I don't think we will ever see Pink Floyd live, or hear any new material. The ended it on a great note and went out with a bang. The LIVE 8 performance was nothing else but phenomenal, and showed us all they still had that spark that made them a band. It's a happy ending to a long story, and the "Why Pink Floyd...?" latest release campagne is a great ending to it.
@Deltarogers Also The Division Bell was a #1 album on both sides of the Atlantic despite a lack thereof in Roger Waters on that album (was their best since The Wall in my view). I'm glad I got to see Pink Floyd on their last tour in May of 1994 at Foxboro Stadium in Foxboro, MA. David Gilmour was right about Rick Wright, Rick was important to Pink Floyd. You could tell something was lost on The Final Cut. I also agree with DG and RWright when they said Wish You Were Here was Floyd's best album
@ThoughtXdMyMind the only way floyd will tour again is for charity, benefit concerts ,Live 8 concept...i could see them showing up at one of the North America shows this summer
i'd say that if richard was still with us and them then itd be likely with the bad blood between dave and roger mostly mended but without richard they wouldnt be able to do it wright. :] R.I.P Rick Wright.
WE LOVE YOU DAVE, THE BEST FOREVER¡¡
