  • @edzis9 Go up to the 'Edit' menu and select Undo.

  • i hate it when you always remind us about 3dconnexion :)

  • @JaidValenzuelae Have you gotten your yet????

  • scale for windows is S

  • @JaidValenzuelae You're right!

  • kindly show us how to animate a sliding door.. =)

  • @batmanrobinspider Sorry, SketchUp doesn't animate objects.

  • @harwoodpodcast it actually can with a help from sketchyphysics. but you can use dynamic door and enable the dynamic components toolbar

  • @JaidValenzuelae Sorry, but I'm not familiar with that plugin.

  • Thanks for the tutorial.

  • Nice video and you did good job showing how to so some of the more involved techniques of punching openings through walls.

However, I must help you correct some of your comments for serious designers. Good 3D models are (or should be) dimensionally correct to the last fractional inch. Unless your client is willing to pay for custom windows/doors, the design must fit to the standards. Scaling doors to fit holes also scales hardware which can't happen in reality.

  • @dannyfixit07 That's a very good point, and if you're doing this professionally you certainly need to pay more attention to those details. However, for a learning exercise or personal project like this, fudging an inch here or there is fine :)

  • is it free the thing thats moveable

    the joystick

  • @ddredo The Space Navigator that I'm using isn't free, but it's fairly inexpensive considering what it allows you to do. If you do a lot of modeling it's certainly a worthwhile investment.

  • How do you edit the door in terms of changing color etc?

  • @Fr33Styla00 You can change the color or texture of the door by using the Bucket tool, which I talk about in episode #17.

  • Excellent......I would like to hear you giving just a few more tidbits of info, that is, mentioning what keyboard shortcuts you are using to select any of the commands you choose. That would be even more helpful. I couldn't see if you were on a mac or a pc, which do you use? Thank you many times over !!

  • @donluke578 I can certainly mention shortcuts more! If you watch some of the earlier videos where I'm covering the basics of SketchUp, I talk about keyboard shortcuts a lot. I use a Mac, but the PC and Mac versions of SketchUp are almost identical.

  • @harwoodpodcast Thanks.....I'll go over them asap.....I guess I jumped on the wagon a little late !!

  • is it free?

  • @marina21097 SketchUp is completely free! Just go to SketchUp.com to download it.

  • When I first got my SpaceNavigator, I wasn't sure, now i can't work with out it!

Have subscribe to the videos now, as tips and invaluable when your doing a lot of work flow :)

  • All through the video I was like, "How is he flying around like that?" As soon as you started talking about the SpaceNavigator I was sold. I went straight to Amazon and bought one. If it works as advertised, you have accomplished marketing at its finest. You had me hooked on the product before I even knew what the product was.

  • I'm using sketchup to plan my fort

  • You're fantastic!

  • Qualitys gone to hd looking good

  • thanks for the video so much!
