@Myqdiesel808 That depends... What RMS is the 1000 watt amp, compared to the 500 w...? If the RMS wattage is slightly above the max of the subs (these are 150RMS each) you should be fine, even if the amp is "only" 500 w... To high RMS wattage and you'll just burn out ur subs

@thommydoo yes. Kickers love to breathe. Also, don't throw all 400 watts at it, because Comps are rated at 50-150 watts RMS. Once you break it in, though you can throw a little more at it.
