Yes, I agree with you on the octaves. I think the break in the middle of that bit was a bit odd and disrupted the flow. I'm pretty sure it was meant to be have a musical effect but i just didn't work for me. Nevertheless, brilliant performance!

i wouldn't say amazing for his age, its very good. the sound and articulations are rather distracting in terms of spreading, harshness, and intonation. But he's good for a 12 year old. I learned this carnival of venice and a clarinet arrangement of the briccaldi flute one at age 10, so I wouldn't say his performance is amazing, but it is still impressive.

Um... You know that there are many that study on college that havn't achieved this thechnitcal maturity (he doen't just hurry his way through this, he really plays every tone with control). I wast't even sure that it was possibe for such a young person to play like that. He also plays weber's grand duo concertante - probably the hardest piece from that time. I heard a fifth year college student play it (and he was considered good) - this guy plays it almost as good.

@lstthoughts8 - His performance is amazing... you must have been listening to a different clarinetist, because there was nothing harsh or out of tune about it. Let's hear you play it since you are almost twice his age, you should be able to play it twice as well.

Valido il suono come spesso si può riscontrare in questo giovane esecutore, purtroppo manca totalmente la parte interpretativa. L'ascoltatore non può cogliere la sentimentalità e l'eleganza come quando a 2.40 riesce a banalizzare tutto cadendo nel ridicolo.

A 6.48 l'intonazione va alle ortiche.

Who is your teacher? You sound great!! I only a few comments. Watch out for the intonation in the throat tones and dont let your embouchure open up to much when you are playing loud and or fast. My last one is that your not always thinking about your sound when you are articulating. Other than that you sound amazing!!!!! What an amazing start you have.
