  • this band got me through some troubled times and it's a wonder that i didn't lose my hearing

  • Awesome!..suck it commercial radio.

  • How about you both shut up and enjoy this for what it is, good fucking music.

  • This just sucks.

  • @Parvenu333 its good to see that they are still weeding out the morons ; )

  • @shot2shit

Who is weeding out the morons? I am a moron because I don't like this music? Cool comment!

  • @Parvenu333 cool... artless sense of closed mindedness bro

  • @cursedvanity Cool baseless personal attack, bro!

  • @Parvenu333 cool baseless criticism about music you refuse to understand homie

im gladd were cool and bros thoe hee hee :-)

  • @cursedvanity An opinion isn't criticism.

  • @Parvenu333 a value judgement doesnt constitute opinion homeboy

  • @Parvenu333 and stupid people dont get to have opinions duderino ;-)

  • @cursedvanity Opinion: a personal view, attitude, or appraisal

"This sucks" is an appraisal, broski.

  • Stupid: holding a viewpoint that I disagree with because I'm the best.

No, no that doesn't seem right...

  • Here's my opinion beyond a three word sentence:

This just sucks because I'm listening to it in headphones. Really what this is is dance music, the kind of music that you have to feel with your body in order to experience, just like swing or house music.

If you listen to this in headphones and pan on about its artistic value, you're a fool. It's dance music.

  • @Parvenu333 are u daficient?

  • Deficient? No, I'm quite proficient, thank you.

  • @Parvenu333 well there we go now we can have a dialogue about it

    think about this:

what kind of world would we live in if you gave us this instead of your retarded initial comment? it doesnt matter if you think it has merit as what is defined as an 'opinion' its a waste

that being said you could continue to evolve and 'pan on about its artistic value' in order to truly digest a piece of work that somebody is putting out into the world

but well thats asking too much of you

  • @cursedvanity that isn't a dialogue, that's just you criticizing me on the merits of my comment. Try my opinion, not the fact that I commented. I'll state it again: listening to dance music in a format where you can't dance is absurd.

Essentially, all you told me is that you're right. Your only support was that I'm stupid. You have to realize how frustrating this is for me. The end goal of this is for me to understand you and for you to understand me, whether or not we agree. Facilitate.

  • @Parvenu333 i already stated my opinion but you are attempting to paint me as a villain

i think that this is music with artistic merit

you think that its just dance music

    two opinions stated

if you had such a grand idea about us understanding each other

then you should consider my previous comment about critical dialogue

i have seen this band live and respect their musicianship

the drumming is very technical and you fail to consider that such a large sound is created by just two people

  • @cursedvanity how about this

if you want to go on and on about how youre trying to have a discussion and hold opinions try using terms like "i feel" and "i think"

    subjective terms

    get it?

see now im being a responsible elder so you can stop whining about how im frustrating you so much

    thanks for listening duder :-)

  • I want to address two points as well:

    "the drumming is very technical..."

Technicality does not equate to musicality, ever.

"...and you fail to consider that such a large sound is created by just two people."

I don't understand how that's an argument for musicality either because if I plug into as many amps as the bass player does, I'll sound just as loud as him. Loudness = musicality? That's even worse than the first one.

So much talk about "baselessness," yet read above... I dunno...

  • @cursedvanity I never said dance music doesn't have artistic merit. I can see how you might infer that, but let me clarify: what I meant was that if you don't acknowledge it as dance music, you are a fool. It's like admiring a sculpture thinking that it's a painting; both have merit, just in different ways.

Also, opinions should be inherently recognized without subjective terms, intrinsically, in the fact that people are saying them. I should not have to inhibit myself by saying "I think."

  • @Parvenu333 well looks like youre already done discussing

guess i shouldve checked if i was talking to a twelve year old before i wasted my time huh bro bo bro bo bo?

you cant just keep changing the definitions of your terms. i dont think you know how to have a discussion at all ;-)

  • @cursedvanity You're still under the impression that dance music cannot be valid artistically, which I've already addressed. This is dance music, and has validity in that realm, but nowhere else.

The only reason I left the comment addressing your points was because I was taken aback by the terms you were using to judge musicality. This may be musical, but not in the terms that you put it in... that's my argument.

  • Also, stop being a condescending asshole. It's clear to me at least that you are definitely not more enlightened than me (all that Socratesian crap that you left me on my profile--save it for philosophy 101) I don't respect you--not because you like this music, but because of WHY you like it.

As I said, technicality =/= musicality, and loudness (I feel like an idiot even addressing it) =/= musicality. Both can be used to make music, but do not stand alone.

    Answer me.

  • @Parvenu333 dont you love that because you had one moment of stupid artless self indulgence 4 months ago 4 months later people like me can still badger you about it?

    thats true accountability for stupidity

  • @cursedvanity You think this is a nuisance for me. It's not. I could just not respond and you would be left powerless. The only conclusion I can draw from that is that perhaps you're projecting, and it's really a nuisance for you. I would expect more maturity from someone 9 years older than me.

  • @Parvenu333 hmm an interesting conjecture

but a little bit baseless, like your initial comment.

  • ROCK!
