  • So wonderful that Brian is truly "back" It's awesome. This song almost brings me to tears : / So beautiful.

  • @ssiknick83 back? i don't know.... just imagine if you showed this to 24-year-old pet sounds brian wilson... "this is your future" i don't think he'd be very happy. he's not even playing the piano, his singing is stupified, and those annoying wondermints are singing and playing all the good parts. it's just plain sad. =(

  • Paul Mertens is amazing on the woodwind instruments

  • This song is , for me, Brian's new CLASSIC !!! Brungs tears to my eyes.

    God Bless, John Hunter Phillips

"If We Ever Need A Super Man"

  • Considering Brians health problems and the fact he is basicly deaf in one ear,I think he does a amicable job.Not everyone wants to mime like alot of other so called singers-give the guy some credit.

  • Brian Wilson's band is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love Brian. I love this song. I love this new album. But he's flat all the way through this live performance. The entire performance. And he's clipping his phrasing. Like he's bored or something. He's had better nights. And will again I hope. But he is 66. Time to rest and spend time with his family perhaps?

  • perhaps you shouldn't criticize it too much. Who cares if he's flat, sharp or singing a completely different tune.......he's stll performing live. Thats all that counts.

  • Haha. I would have responded exactly how you did a few years ago. I'm a HUGE fan. I own EVERYTHING he's done. (EVERYTHING, haha.) I've seen him live solo like 6 times. All I'm saying is this was an off night, if the video is any indication. Doesn't mean I don't worship the ground he walks on. I'd see him live again, even if he sang two tones off key. It gets harder when you get older is all I'm saying. If he wants to keep playing live, by all means I hope he does. And I'll even go see him.

  • This CD will go down in history as one of the best ever. I personally found that I had to listen to it a few times with a good sound system (my car) to get an appreciation. I believe it is because years ago when we would listen to songs we would hear them a dozen times on AM before we bought the record. I can only thank Brian Wilson, the band, for all working together to produce such a classic. The people of Southern California should be so proud to have Brian Wilson!!

  • Thanks for the video. Have the CD and learn more about it each time I play it. Saw Brian and the Boys live in 1963 and have missed few concert tours since then. Looking forward to seeing Brian in Minneapolis on 1/15. Great music still .... thanks Brian.

  • Perfect.

  • Just beautiful...

  • this lp is better the more i listen to it. it's possibly my fave of the year so far.

  • This is really an uplifting song...love the Lucky Old Sun bit at the end...Brian sounds pretty good for the most part, sounds like he's been working with a vocal coach to improve his performance in the upper register. Love the French horn on "Midnight"; can't wait till this album comes out!

  • This song just about breaks my heart.

  • Fried for sure...good nite everyone.

  • Good night, musicmatty67. Good riddance!!

  • No he doesn't. The current tour is a greatest hits show. He did 3 TLOS songs in London, but the TLOS tour will probably commence after the album is released.

  • very good!

  • i can't wait to see him on the 16th! does he perform all the new songs from the new album coming out?

  • he came in early haha, love ya brian

  • seriously the accapella breaks on "Goin' Home" sends shivers down my spine...

  • just love these two songs, superb work Brian (and Scott Bennett-lyricist)!

  • thought it was van dyke?

  • No, he wrote the spoken vocal passages.

  • oh, thx a lot for the info

  • In my opinion, the best song Brian has done in his solo career. Scott & Brian have created a masterpiece.

  • Even more surprising that it's a reworked outtake from 1985. Brian, release your outtakes!

  • This song was composed in 1985? Is this album going to be another "Gettin' in over my head"? It's an enjoyable cd, yet many Brian fans had heard the songs b4; FAIRY TALE=SAVE THE DAY, YOU'VE TOUCHED ME=TURNING POINT, etc. So Brian had a creative explosion with TLOS? Is Melinda the female version of Landy?-Securing Brians' fortune by adopting 3 children when he is 66. Brian should just go into the studio w/ Andy Paley and record new songs.

  • Oh PLEASE never compare Melinda to Dr Landy. Melinda has been a huge support to Brian and has helped him more than you could ever know. She's a wonderful person who takes good care of him and supports him 100% Without her, SMiLE would never have been released, That Lucky Old Sun would never happen, and Brian would not be touring anymore. Only parts of this were taken from a 1985 outtake. The whole album itself is a new piece. The music is amazing, and Brian works so well with Scott Bennett.

  • As with other posts that night, I have to make my apologies for making the comments I did. I'm always suppostive of Brian, but that night I had a fever and being bipolar doesnt help. Usually my good side shows up during a delirium. Peace- Landrew

  • Ah, here you are again, Landrew120880, posting a complete rehashing of what you said in a post for another Brian Wilson video. You need a creative explosion of your own. Try saying something new next time, huh?

  • My apologies. I have rcvd other comments regarding my comments that night. I wasnt in a proper state of mind. Hope to see ya round on YT on a better day.

  • major song for him

  • Bravo, Brian. Great stuff. Thanks for posting, Philthy.

  • Baast! Superb!

  • wow
