@up97 That's roughly 170 dollars USD. Still far from the 600-900 dollar price tag. Also, Microsoft doesn't really sell hardware, how could they be the greedy ones?

@kiashadowwave As iftibashir mentioned, the cost mentioned is only the inventory cost and all the overhead costs (royalties, R&D, Packaging, Procurement, inventory, storage, logistics, stores, staff, utility bills, licensing etc etc...  the list is really long if you know business thing) are not included AND in any manufacturing, the overhead costs take the major junk of the TOTAL COST.

170/600*100 = 28% and its just the parts....
