  • Just buy a cable terminator tool off of ebay. I got one for 99 cents. That way you can remove the lock again when they cut you off. again. This is a losing battle as everything merges to a fully digital system as you will need a digital box to descramble the signal on each tv. analog is fading ...

  • @swingbat22. Jokes on you girl. I pay for at&t u-verse with 7 hd boxes with the premium channels, highest speed internet they offer, home phone and 3 iphones so I'm considered a very valuable customer. I posts video like this just to get a rise out of people like you and because I can. I've never stole cable service in my life but If I couldn't afford it I'd be looking into this method. Strange you were searching for this.

  • Such an IDIOT! Get a job and pay for your services. This video will be used as evidence when they fine your ass for cable theft. Why would you post things like this and promote criminal activity? What's next? How to steal a car? Punk!

  • The lock is called a terminator...and there are several types. The one you showed is an older type not used a whole lot these days because of people like you. And you are not "borrowing" anything. You are STEALING services. Why don't you post a follow up video for the idiots that actually try this called how to remove the lock from your jail cell? I'm sure it would be more useful to them than this.

  • after hooking cable find out only get few things to watch than week later cops at house you go jail for 60days cause you poor ass who cant pay 20.00 bill each mo you poor ass get off ass get job

  • Yes i work for a cable company so why not get a job and pay for cable cheap ass

  • good way to go to jail, some people support families by working for the cable company!

  • Take that Filter you just removed, drill a hole about the Size of center coaxial cable wire, take a center piece of Coaxial Cable wire and place into the drilled hole, making sure it is the just short of either end of the lock filter. Take the Lock filter place back onto cable line on the pole, hook up your Cable line, then it looks like your still locked out, and if you did this correctly you have cable and looks like you don't... This has always worked well for me...

  • @micklokking That's the way to do it. A whole bunch of my friend had cable from 1992 to 2004 with this method. And I thought that I was the only one that new of this simple but effective technique. This Wiseguy's technique pretty much tells the cable man:"Hey look, I am stealing money out of your salary"

  • @VladTepes2002 You can be stupid about stuff, get caught way. I did this a long time ago, thought i would give it a try and and it worked. I did it cuse I was a poor kid and tired of the cable company ripping me off. These people on here saying they work for the Cable Companies, most of them have horrible customer support and shitty service and don't give a shit when they come to your house. I cant find a cable deal for 20 dollars a month? So I say F@#K the cable companies.

  • You can get the actual tool on Ebay, or crush the side of the lock with vise grips and unscrew it that way. I like your idea, as it's cheaper than the $5-$15 tool, and doesn't damage the lock, so if you need to put it back, it still looks normal

  • Here in the uk we have freeview digital tv about 100 channels for most people. The sattelite and cable networks have a few different channels. But its THE SAME OLD SHIT repeated over and over. Who is that desperate to watch tv that they need to steal more channels. I say get a fkn real life...

  • I don't know where you live but that will not work here with Rogers.

You are turned off with out any repair man coming to your house.

so you don't pay you don't play. it don't get turned on till you do.

  • AMAZING!!! the lock on my box needed a shorter screw but still worked!

    Thanks much!!!

  • i Borrow it and it worked!!! thanks man.

  • somehow just found out my house have tv cable. The only problem is that shows the digital channels. All the other standard channels (2-73) cant be catch.

Is there any kind of filter that I have to look up for??

  • Nice, when your done you and your thieving buddys can sit around in your housing project and smoke a bunch of meth together and watch judge judy! Scumbag.

  • Do you know how to connect a cable modum to the cable to get free internet?

  • @YoBoyRobb Get yourself a Hacked Modem... goggle it, specific to each network or Provider...

  • Very compelling.

  • I have the right tool for that.

  • Has anyone knows if those digital cable filters work?

  • @tmz90 typo** has anyone used a digital cable filters like the ones they sell on ebay? thx

  • we used vise grips smashing terinator a little and it comes off no problem

  • you are a douchebag. Pay for it......if you can't afford it then that is you r problem

  • This isn't just for getting "free" cable. There's a tendency for cable companies to lock the demarcation points (on the side of your house) using these. There are perfectly legal and legitimate reasons to access the inside of that box. (i.e. diagnostics, or modification of internal wiring)

  • Well for all you thieves cable is now going all digital and they will also be digitally scrambled steal it know

  • U Cable guys stop acting like your fucken SAINTS...like you dont fucken SIN or EVER have STOLEN something in your LIFE...i dont give a fuck if it was a piece of bread or a million DOLLARS...U STOLE and there is nothing else to it..simply that U STOLE mother fucker thats IT....Ive seen like 50% of u asshoes sell yourself SHORT for a couple of bucks and hook up other peoples cable illegally...Everything from CABLE GUYS to DISH People also....Go stick a piece of cable up your ass and good day BITCH

  • This video is FUCKEN GREAT...I was trying to find a video to bypass my bike lock and came to this video hahahaha...FUNNY how SOOOOOoo MANY "CABLE GUYS are HERE WATCHING this video" U asshoes are funny...NO LIVES lol...i think abou 9 out of 10 people ive EVER MET in TEXAS...have STOLEN cable LOL...When i called the cable people to come connect my cable service i had like 10MEXICANS come and ask the GUY...YO was up how much will you connect my shit for..he was like $60..bitch made $600 in an hour

  • Cable TV. Not worth stealing. Not worth paying for either.

  • well if our politicians can inside trade and make millions in the stock market then i would think think that having free cable is a very petty crime, i mean why would they waste there time on a cable thief when they could arrest real criminals causing real crimes that effect everybody. Come on people! Wake up!

  • @TheCuZsJuSt .. They have to prove you stole it, they would have to prove you climb the pole. Who knows maybe the guy before me did it? I have had them disconnect my cable, nothing happens, never had a cop come to my house.. the cable guy is not law enforcement. He climbs a pole and connects a cable, a monkey could do it.. I once ordered cable, he tried to charge me for connecting 4 outlets, when he only connected at the box in the building. SO they will rip you off to..or try to..

  • I haven't ever used a descrambler and stuff cause it's illegal and i pay for my cable internet and tv. I just read about the info online an saw there were eBay listings for the descrambler boxes and say its used for education purposes only.

  • Well you can get a descrambler to get all cable channels & then connector for your house where the coax cable goes you put that on before your coax cable so you recieve an incoming signal but won't send an outgoing signal so your cable company wouldnt know. You could also just get high speed Internet and get free basic cable channels or once again your a descrambler and you'll he more safe that way cause the cable company will see your getting a signal and would just assume its from your Inter

  • Borrow? It's stealing, you fucking criminal.

  • @blueshockey41 Oooooooooo

  • @blueshockey41 all these bastards stealing the precious cable tv.. They should be put next to the crack dealers, and the child molesters and SHOT... Criminals, all of them...

  • @beanscaw actually cable/Internet providers have to give around 5% of their profit to government/community not including taxes

  • @beanscaw. It's channels 2-73 and it only should take a couple minutes to grab a tool, find and hookup. Any longer than I would agree to not waste time.

  • All this work for about 13 channels. Most of which you can get as over the air channels. Seems like a severe waste of time and energy. And for all those who complain that cable companies are too expensive, keep in mind television is not a necessity. Cable companies are private, for profit companies and can charge whatever they want. I promise that if you don't watch tv, you WILL survive!

  • So you think Free to air is your right to have?? Then why don't you get a Dish and a reciver and get it for yourself. Cable Companies don't have to provice Free to Air channels.

I love how you say your through with Cable but your still willing to steal it. Yeah Tap into your phone line and see if the Free to air channels are there. Just remove the knibbleing pin first would want to see you get hurt!!! Oh and yes we hide the cable boxes in you meter box...

  • What that box in my Meter box? Man the cable compay disconted my free to air. no seperate rg6 they ran. im finish with cable but guess what...they wont fix it. Is there a charge in that box. it has two coex leads that look need a ruench to undo. or is that to do with my phone line.

  • I have to put on a safety harness climb a pole ladder and disconnect these thieving bastards at the hydro pole. We try putting the service boxes high up on there houses yet still they break in.

I have a special ladder and training that helps me from getting hurt while I'm up there. This video is going to put people in harms way you thieving piece of shit.

  • @99Optima a tall ladder is Special? I got mine at the Home Depot.. Special Training.. really you had to be trained to use a pair of pliers?

  • You can get f connectors at home depot/ lowes/ace/radio shack ect. The tap is usually by the side walk but in your lawn or neighbor(s) front yard. It could also be on a telephone pole if community doesnt have underground wiring. Apartments are on the side of the building locked in a box.

  • @WISEGUY775

So are you suggesting that they open one of the pediatals or lock boxed? I think you are still forgetting to mention that Theft of Communications is a Class 3 FELONY. lots of cable companies take it very seriouslly.

The best think you can do is leave thoes boxes alone!!! Unless you know Philmanwill's buddy who works for the cable one He will help you steal it or slap you on the wrist for stealing it.

  • where do i find the tap and/or splitter

  • Look as cable systems go ALL DIGITAL theft will be a thing of the past. Without a Digital Converter there will be nothing to see. So it wont matter.

Phil maybe your cable buddy will steal a cable box for you. Wouldn't want you to miss Dancing with the stars.

Do you steal gas from the gas station too? Guess you don't have a buddy for that. I bet you take 3 papers out of the paper machines and tell everyone that it's OK but complain that it cost you $1!!

Just admit it YOUR A POS THIEF!!

  • I hope everyone drills out the terminators!! I find these so fast it's not funny. Have you ever heard of cable leakage? I spend 50% of my day looking for it. Need to know more check out the FCC website fcc.gov/guides/cable-signal-leakage.

He is right the auditor wont find it but I will. Oh did I mention that every truck in my system has a leak detector that reports daily?

This topic is why your rates are so high. Your only pissing off the people who pay for it! It's job security for me

  • @MegaChevyMan79 The tap splits the signal to different homes...gosh I'm so dumb for calling it a splitter.

  • @WISEGUY775 hey where do you get a f connector?

  • ...auditor probably won't suspect your line. By the way, stealing really is evil.

  • @EverythingInWords your auditors probably wont suspect his line. but thats why there is programs like scout flux or watchtower or cable data dat gives u access to subscribers and find out who's legal or not. ur probably a dude in a van driving around with ur sniffer on. i have a bucket truck opening amps and Line extenders tracking noise when i get a priority plant fault. flux version of scout lets me see red bubbles of the houses with ingress and active or not i see them.

  • After do do this, cut off the fitting at the end of the cable line that goes to your house. Strip the insulation and dielectric away from the end of the cable, so that the remaining semiconductor is long enough to go through the terminator and into the outlet. Cover all but the last centimeter of the semiconductor with electrical tape (1-3 inches). Install an f-connector. Drill a hole through the terminator, reinstall it. Attach your modified line through the terminator. That way the...

  • @philmanwill No KGB Scary stuff here, just facts, and we do have people running around looking for thieves, they are called Tap Auditors. Every good company has one or two. Now your buddies system may be to small to have such and that is why a little POS like you gets away with it or the techs in that system don't care.

I just hope when you do get caught they fire your little buddy too. Hell he is probability stealing company supplies to help you steal.

  • Its not a spliter you fucking DUMBASS its called a TAP can you read left to right top to bottom WTF hope you fittings are tight cause the CLI meter will pick you leakage up and they will find your illegal hooked up cable

  • @MegaChevyMan79 ^This guy^ is obviously more intelligent than you are. Better watch out for him.

  • @Miketyler1015 Look I know everyone does it, I have been cleaning up behind you thieves for almost 20 years. I have been known to snatch illegal wires from windows and through walls and just listen to your TV drag across the dresser and crash on the floor.

What are you going to say? "I was stealing and the cable guy broke my stuff?" Let me guess you probably steal from where you work too. I just wonder How you get all those cheeseburgers in your pockets?

Enjoy it, we find you sooner or later.

  • @Theolo131 STFU you whinny bastard. You make the cable company sound like it has some sort of secret KGB running around busting people fro stealing cable. My best friend works as a tech for Cableone. He said 99%, they disconnect your cable and send you a cease and desist letter. ooooohhhh. Scary. Stop trying to scare people you fag.

  • You have no idea what your doing especially if you dont get you fittings tight or if you break a tap port you cause ingress in the system that can shut the light down to the node and cause all kinds of problems for pay customers cause micro reflections you people need to keep your dick beaters off of stuff that dont belong to you try to go steal power next and they will throw your ass in jail on the spot dumbasses you cant fix stupid

  • @MegaChevyMan79 Moral of the story, use some high quality RG-6, and some snap n' seal connectors with the purple ring. ;)

    Cable: w w w . markertek . com/Cables/Bulk-Wire-Cable/Bulk-Video-Cable/West-Penn-Wire-Corp/HQ841.xhtml

    Connectors: w w w . mcmelectronics . com/product/PERFECTVISION-SNS1P6QS-/27-5846

I am not a cable guy, but I know my shit.

  • @philmanwill well ur shit is wrong. proven..purple connectors are not 100 waterproof. ppc chrome connectors are.

  • If you lived in my system I would track your IP address and bust your ass for stealing cable that is a federal crime your a dumbass Im service tech I find dumbasses like you everyday so if its worth it to you go a head but we will find you and bust your ass all in time and give you a nice fine and make you pay restitution good luck pecke heads

  • @MegaChevyMan79 ohohoh aaaa Track My Ip address, send me an email hell telnet into my PC.. When you have the Authority to Fine me, please By all means do so.

Service Techs for cable companies are clowns that cant get a real job..

Then they seem to enjoy trying to scare people with comments on a shitty you tube video.

Please present to us all, a case in a court of law where an individual was prosecuted for cable television theft ? One case where the FCC might have fined an individual?

  • How Cable Theft Affects You

Cable theft is not a victimless crime. Although cable theft may have little of the social stigma attached to it that other kinds of theft may have, and some people actually brag about stealing services from the cable company, the person most directly affected and most hurt by cable theft is the authorized customer…you. Some examples of the ways that cable theft hurts the authorized customer include:

  • Poor Reception - When someone taps into our cable lines without authorization it begins a chain of events that in many cases affects the picture quality of paying customers.

Public Safety - It can threaten public safety by causing radar and police band Interference.

Higher Costs – It can impact the monthly cost of cable.

  • @Theolo131 If you do climb the Telephone pole, the Low Watt lines, IE cable, Telephone lines are at the bottom, or the Lower Lines, Be careful not to touch the upper thick lines. Those are the Power Lines. be sure to get yourself a 20 foot Special Ladder from home depot and a pair of Pliers. Or save yourself the time and hassle when Theolo131 comes around you can give him / her 50 dollars he / she will connect it for you...

  • Call all the BS you want, there is no doubt that cable companies make money. You must work at one of those Non profit companies, or better yet you don't have a job and I pay for your cable Whether you steal cable or not. I bet you have no idea how much it takes to keep your cable running. You must think They just put up a Satellite dish, get Free service, and its magically send it to your house. You ever wonder how you get to sit up all night playing WOW with you buds and how much that cost???

  • I see you forgot to let everyone know that Cable Theft Service is a class C Felony

Sentences in federal and state theft of services cases have ranged from probation to 16 years in prison. Fines and restitution have ranged from several hundred dollars to $2.7 million.

As a Cable Guy, we look for these all the time so you decide if it's worth it or not!!!

  • @Theolo131 Relax man everyone does it, I have free cable and satellite, and I bet all the free pay per view I have watch for the past 12 years is worth it THEFT IS FOR EVERYONE

  • @Theolo131 16 years in prison really? Manslaughter gets less than that? Stealing Cable is Serious..

  • An easier way would be use a coat hanger as an antena and or don't watch so much tv trust me the crap they show you and all the commercials isn't worth the money for cable

  • DOUCHE BAG

  • @simbalage22 are you scanning for more channels in your tv's menu? It should be expanded basic cable, ch 2-73. Analog is gone for everyone.

  • @WISEGUY775 here in detroit they encrypt everything because theift is and always been so high. so end result is basic basic because law prevent them from doing the ota channels

  • @WISEGUY775 not for everyone dude there is still 550mhz systems with both analog and digi.

  • TOP COMMENT? ENJOY THIS IF IT WORKS FOR U.. ONCE THEY GOT ALL DIGITAL IN YOUR AREA YOU'LL BE LEFT WITH LOCALS (LITERALLY LOCALS 2,4,7) IN BAD QUALITY SO ITS LESS THEN WHAT A DIGITAL CONVERTER CAN BRING IN.. SIMPLY NOT WORTH IT..LIKE THE RANT ABOUT ORDERING CABLE AND ADDING A SPLITTER.. IF IT WORKS NOW ENJOY IT...

  • @GraeWolphe...Your the only one who's seems scared and can't sleep at night. I'll post a comment here and pm you if you guys notice but we both know you shouldn't hold your breath.

As for people making obvious splices, bad connections and are impairing the service for others, they deserve to be caught and disconnected...just try not to slap their wrist too hard.

  • @WISEGUY775 Try this for a wrist slap! Most recent sucker I caught stealing cable? The guy was pretty slick, and some mistakes were made by some of our techs, so it took WAY longer to catch him than it should have. Anyway...his "wrist slap" is gonna cost him a grand total of $2611 restitution to the cable + court cost + paying a probation officer for a full year. This guy is looking at a minimum of $4000 out of pocket. At $59 for basic and exp cable...that's over 5 years of cable.

  • @WorldTurnBlack OMG...300% profit...are you NUTS? I would LOVE to see you take a cable company to court. I would sit in the courtroom in stitches the whole time. That's just too funny! I'm laughing at that crap now. I'd be in tears, rolling on the floor to see it in a courtroom. I would PAY to see that happen.

  • Here's another wake up call for you. When you do steal cable, and you knock out an entire node...approx. 300-500 homes. We track that crap straight to YOUR house. Do it again...we track it again...straight to YOUR house...#2. Do it again...we track it straight to your house...#3. Guess what? We call the police and you get charged with cable theft. No matter how you stack it, sooner or later...you are going to get caught, and when you do...it will cost you more than it would have to buy cable.

  • People want to know why cable prices go up... Following up my previous comment...we had one idiot that twist tied cable together in order to steal service, and knocked out 3 fiber optic nodes...approx. 900 to 1500 homes. It took our technicians several hours to track down and find the source of the problem. Some of you may not care that it took that long, but that's one of the things that causes an increase in cable price. Anyway, you wanna know why cable prices are so high...that's part of it.

  • @GraeWolphe Yes I do agree with you on this as well.. worse thing I ever did was screw it back in years ago when it was barton here.. But crazy things people do like twisting is bad. Google the one where they ran the cable with the telco loop hellla crazy.. We all do things when we are young and dumb, but I know now its plain wrong and contributes to higher cost to legitimine customers

  • @GraeWolphe i call bs, the prices are high because they line their fat wallets really good. If they charged everyone $10 a month for basic and $15 for all movie channels they would still be raking in millions, but millions is not enough. Greed keeps the prices high.

  • I want to try and put this in terms where you understand why cable companies are now going after people who are stealing cable. There was a time in the not so distant past where ingress (signals getting into our system) didn't matter that much. All it would do is make TV ch's a little snowy. Now, with inet and phone, that ingress kills the return signal, which kills inet and phone service. Some thieves are so dumb, they twist splice cable together, killing multiple nodes from the noise level.

  • @GraeWolphe I would have to agree, if your dumb enough to Splice Cable wires, and do it all wrong, you deserve to get caught...

  • btw... cable companies have to physically prove you did it.. if you hook yours up connect EVERYONE on the node and you are all set...

  • @simbalage22 I love self trained lawyers...you guys are too funny. FYI...here's the chain of events that puts you in front of a judge. 1st time I find you illegal, I disconnect you and have our dispatch office note your account. 2nd time I find you illegal, I disconnect you again, and have dispatch note your account...again. 3rd time...I have a history of theft at your house, so I call the police and the legal occupant gets charged with cable theft. 4th step...you pay about $1000...minimum.

  • @GraeWolphe I am an average person disabled and broke as fuck.. U stand correct but if you connect everyone then they cant fine "You" for theift unless you get chaught in the act.. Likewise it was very common here in detroit,, my illegal is still hooked up comcast knows and dont care because its 2,3,4,5 thats it.. and quality is horrible. They did it like this on purpose. Hence why I dont use it because of line noise on analog but yea...

  • @simbalage22 Oh...and if you think everyone you hooked up on that "node"...lmfao, you don't even know what you're talking about...you probably mean "tap"...are going to pay for your theft. Guess again! I guarantee you, you hook up 4 to 8 people on your "tap", when I call the police out to file charges on all 8 residences, how many of the other 7 to you think won't drop a dime on YOU in a heart beat? Too funny...thanks for the laugh.

  • @GraeWolphe oh I I dont condone theift. Likewise I used to do this when I was healthy enought to actually climb up there! It is also referred to as a node.. Technical term. I used to install for LeComm before getting disabled and live in the roughest cities detroit so I am speaking how they used to get away with it connecting all the discoonect lines where they belong.. You say "I" catch you like your the police.. wont catch me because I dont steal tv. Netflix is my provider lol

  • @simbalage22 I hooked up my whole building once... for this reason..

  • i used to do this as well as satellite and cable descramblers, however long live the analog days// here in detroit even removing their locks you get (and crappy quality at that) 2.4.7.9 the rest dont even come in

  • And also I know Ur all fat ass pricks cuz I've seen Ur fat fucks everywhere lol ahhh too funny

  • Hahahaha all u cable genius people are fucking gay! Lol omg! Ur all smart with television.. cuz Ur prolly all fat asses who watched it 24/7 as a kid and nowadays wasting Ur life... Hahahaha!! Fucking faggots

  • Thanks Man! it actually worked!!! God Bless...

  • nice man, now how do i get internet

  • @bigdogs10 Clone the Mac address from a legitimate subscriber :)

  • @simbalage22

    just on my computer???

my neighbor has internet and i know his mac address so i just connect the modem to my comp with his mac??

  • @bigdogs10 Really, it's up to the subscriber whether they decide not to secure their wireless network, but anyone paying for THEIR internet service should take some things into consideration. 1) Do you trust the people who will have access? 2) What happens if pedophiles download kiddie porn through your network? 3) You can be held liable for any illegal activities conducted through your internet connection. 4) Multiple PC's connected to YOUR network WILL slow your connection speed.

  • @bigdogs10 Little more complex then that. You'll need to burn the modems mac address as well as the provision file from the modem. Modems have 2 mac's Internal and external

  • @simbalage22 Google Hacked Modem?

  • @GraeWolphe Sounds like you take your job a little too serious? Not that I care what your ranting about but I do pay for cable but if I couldn't, this is what I would do only until I could afford it again. As for the "borrowing" remark I made, it was obviously a joke just like you. Get a life.

  • Comment removed

  • @WISEGUY775 One of the supervisors at the cable company I work for has seen your video now. He was highly pissed that you're on here telling people how to do this.

For those who MIGHT follow your advice...I just caught another guy yesterday. He thought he was slick too...gotta give him credit...he WAS pretty slick for a while. It took me a while to get him due to some mistakes by techs, but I did finally get him. And now...it's gonna cost him about $4000. Think about it!

  • Yeah people...listen to this moron. There's no such thing as free. As a cable auditor, I catch morons like him all the time. He calls it borrowing from the cable company...IT'S CALLED CABLE THEFT, and it's a FEDERAL offense. I just caught one such genius about a month ago. Now he's on probation for 12 months and has to pay a probation officer each month. Also had to pay us $215 and court cost. Add all that up and he could have paid for 2 years of basic and expanded cable.

  • @WorldTurnBlack this is for main cable not for boxes and it is that simple. I was doing it when we lived in a house. It is alot harder in an apartment because it's all locked up in a room.

  • @cormermusic Just so you know...it's called theft for a reason. And...just so you know...there ARE people like me out there who take their jobs seriously. I prosecute people like you ALL the time. And when all is said and done, you could easily have paid for basic and expanded cable for 2 years on what it costs you when you add up court cost, what you have to pay the cable company in restitution, and a probation officer each month. Add that up, and it easily tops more than $1000 in most cases.

  • @WorldTurnBlack. This is just for expanded basic cable without a cable box.

  • FYI... most cable companies are now pushing their techs to find illegal connections and notify law enforcement and prosecute the people who are getting the service. And a little more free information, they prosicute the person STEALING the service, not just the person who hooked up the line. If you're watching free cable, then you're stealing it.

  • ok. First, you're damaging your wall plate. Stop that. Second, you're stupid. There's a much simpler way to do this, but only dumbass jack-offs steal cable. HAVE A GREAT DAY... oh and that's not called a SPLITTER.. retard...

  • if possible try doing a video on how to remove the filter for the tv signal when one only subscribes to cable internet but not tv

  • @asterbaster96 you're dumb

  • well let me tell you the way it can be simply done in india... you see the cable going along....you dont attach a connector at all... you strip the wire and then connect the terminals of the wire to your wire....well then you dig your wire into a sneaky place...you take it to your home and enjoy the TV...when they come up you say you dont know anything...LOL

  • Thanks for this info! It worked great!!!!

  • wow thanks.. you are the boss

  • In any case good luck with this since comcast is axing analog signal

  • Thats not a splitter. Its a tap you dumbfuck.

  • @willyb943 Your hilarious

  • Penalties for intentional violations are up to $1,000 in fines and imprisonment for up to six months. If the violator is unaware that his actions are illegal, the fine may be reduced to $100 plus damages. For those engaging in theft for personal financial gain or commercial advantage, the penalties are increased to as much as $50,000 and imprisonment for up to two years for the first offense, and up to $100,000 and five years for repeated violations

  • @willyb943 They can't do anything if they can't prove who did it. If they could then someone could hook up the lines to your home and they would bust you?

  • @MrHillDo actually... once law enforcement has been called, all we have to do is show them the connection and BOOM off to jail you go. It's a fun ordeal really... i hope you enjoy all the friends you'll make in there.

  • There has to be a tap for your house or your in the wrong box. Is your address on one of the cables? I wouldn't mess with your neighbors connection, both of you won't have enough db's for quality picture or internet speed, then your neighbor will complain and they will come out and spot that splitter. Maybe your house is hooked up, but disconnected on your cable box on the side of your house?

  • what do i do if theres no extra connection points in my box? do i add a splitter to one of my neighbours connections? it seems that would be a bit obvious to the cable people if they see it.

  • Thanks

  • @cablecop1...Most of the time it doesn't get noticed at all. From what I've seen, if it does get noticed, they disconnect it the first 2 or 3 times. After that they come to your door or leave warning notices. After that they put a lock box around it, which still doesn't stop some people. I don't dought you but I've never heard of that happening around here, it seems like alot of trouble for them to come after someone for stealing basic expanded cable.

  • @WISEGUY775 There is no such thing as free cable and there is also no such thing as "borrowing" cable. I work for a cable company and even I don't get all of it for free. I'm an auditor for the cable company, and I take great pleasure in finding morons like you who think they can continue to get away with what you're instructing these people to do. Get away with it for a while you might, but get away with it forever you won't! And WHEN I catch you, I put you in front a judge. Cha-ching!

  • @WISEGUY775 Cable companies in most cases will give you the benefit of the doubt the first time they find you connected illegally. When I go back a couple of weeks later and check again and you're connected illegally again, I make contact and take pictures. A couple of weeks later, guess what...I'll be back again and if I find you illegal again...I call the cops. You're charged with cable theft, go to court, pay court cost, pay a probation officer, and restitution to the cable company.

  • @WISEGUY775 Just so you know...that's not happening anymore. Cable Companies are taking cable theft VERY seriously and are actively going after those who steal service. Now...on the 3rd time we find service illegal..at ANY address...we call the police, and a police report is filed...4 or 5 days later we go pick up that report and take it to the court house and press charges. Next step...they go to court, pay court cost, pay a probation officer for 12 months, and restitution.

  • If you can't afford cable, don't do this. The fine is way more than what you'd be paying each month for three years.

  • Why not just push the bolt into the lock and hold pressure on it while you unscrew the lock from the splitter?
