- Access to health care
- Quality of health care
- Poverty
- Clean water, safe food
- Health & safety standards

All of these work together to produce a life expectancy. In Scandinavia public services work much better than in the US. Health care, public transit, etc, they are just better here.

Switzerland pays 11.4% of GDP and Sweden pays 10.0%. I freely say that Switzerland simply invests more in health care. I do not know much about health care, but I can research a little to answer you. The USA has hospitals, doctors that are among THE BEST. You ruined Swden with government spending. In the USA they force people to insure and that creates a "third party problem"

- Access to health care
- Quality of health care
- Poverty
- Clean water, safe food
- Health & safety standards
- Crime
All of these work together to produce a life expectancy. In Scandinavia public services work much better than in the US. Health care, public transit, etc, they are just better here.

With free trade you can profit from the benefits of the economies of scale as those countries did. In the last 15 years Norway and the USA had the same growth -1.5%- in per capita GDP at constant prices. Norway had the oil bonanza the US not. Sweden has fared better with 2.2% growth but government was reduced from 62.1% of GDP in 1995 to 49.6% in 2008

Switzerland pays 11.4% of GDP and Sweden pays 10.0%. I freely say that Switzerland simply invests more in health care. I like Switzerland a lot, and I consider then a social country with heavy investment. Their approach to health care is the German model which is different from the Swedish and the US model, so comparison a bit difficult.

That means that at least 97% of the time the best doctor in any field should be in the US. And reality is more complex.
