@092119761 you do that and see how 'well' that works out. Ofcourse the parent decides who is in the house and who isn't but to smack your kid in the mouth for it? That is asking for trouble and it is physical abuse too.
CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL ME THE NAME OF THE SONG WHEN SHE'S SNEAKING OUT!? I LOOKED EVERYWHERE AND STILL CAN'T FIND IT!!!!! IT'S REALLY PISSING ME OFF!!! >:( JUST PLEASE TELL ME!!!!!
when I saw augusta holding the scissors I thought she was going to cut herself and when i watched thirtheen and the chick was holding scissors I thought she was going to cut her hair but she actually cut herself
@Fotclove idk, i mean don't they regret cutting their hair at some point b/c they realize they weren't thinking clearly when they did? they're only hurting themselves
@maddytix34 My sisters bf's sisters kid is 13 she sneaks out of the house all the time n partys n then she got pregnant. Sometimes it's just sad, but true :(
@maddytix34 yes of course, read "And I Don't Want To Live" Nancy Spungen was far worse and at a very early age too. She wasn't as lucky as Augusta though :(
@maddytix34 pretty much, sometimes it starts at 12 to 14 year olds and rarely 11 year olds.
& it depends on your friends. like our friends were older when i was 12 they were from 14 to 20 (EVERYONE was friends) and what kind of city/town you live in, if its small most likely trough's age groups or you have nothing to do (us). 7 if you have jobs to get money to buy your own shit. then later on through the years you realize how stupid is it to drink at 12.
@sexiscchic: A sign of her not being a little girl anymore. I was just like her and still am in some ways except I never tried drugs...did have a nifty shot of tequila though :D
@Bloombaby99 Yeah that's true but notice she didn't throw away the stuffed animals until she started hanging with that chic, same with Tracy in Thirteen.
I like this movie, but in the novel, Augusta's transformation was much more gradual. It didn't just happen one day because she got a bad grade on a test. She was already shoplifting at 12 and experimenting with drugs, and that eventually led to her full blown usage and the horrific behavior that is portrayed in the film. She was always kind of "bad", but her mother just ignored the signals for awhile because Augusta was capable of being so normal at times.
I still don't understand why she was so unhappy. She had her family (even though her parents were divorced, they were around), her sweet friend Daisy, a nice home, and artistic talent? I don't get it?
@alicianefertiti I think she was sad because she thought she was a failure in school, and she started thinking she was fat and ugly. All teens go through trying to find out what good qualities they have, and most worry too much about what other people think or will think of them.
@blonde715 It's not the fact they are bad parents, it's that they don't have control over the kids. If you notice, in both films they are single mothers. Obviously they don't want to push their child away and cause them to go through what they went through (Maybe not in this, but in Thirteen the Mom was a recovering drug addict and a smoker). They didn't want to hurt them, but couldn't stop them hurting themselves.
@balancedmusings Maybe that's why people thought I was acting out when I decided to cut my hair really really short and I mean like a boys haircut. My mom still to some extent is not used to it.
She really reminds me of Kierstin Dunst cross breaded with Avril Lavigne. I hate how obviously influenced she is by her new pal... I mean, she changed her whole look drastically and practically identically to her friend. I'm surprised she's not offended for her taking her style x'D I know I'd be. But it's a movie... so whatevez! True. Very like "13"... the whole stuffed animal part especially haha!
@kimikotriforce So true. I'm still wondering whose fault it is to why she became like that? I don't blame the mom at all. She would always give her daughter compliments.
@skatenowHA dude i soooooo said the same thing, i think they both have there own individuality because they are based on truth, but about two different people . but they are still very similar ..
@skatenowHA Someone wrote a comment on the last part of the movie thirteen and said if we love that movie then we'd love this. i just want to see what choices NOT to make. plus they're both good movies.
Does anybody know the name of the song that is played when Augusta & Rain have vodka shots and when Augusta changes her room. Anyone tell me please? Thanks.
@chandler907 Because, we try to make a drastic change and long hair is seen as beautiful, innocent, feminine and perfect thing. I guess we're try to change from this cute girl to this other crazy enigma. Specifically in your teens when you're trying to find your identity.
@chandler907 it has something to do with trying to change yourself. for example usually after a horrible experience someone may change their hair style completely so that they can feel like the event has disappeared. or if someone wants to forget the past and become a new person, changing your hairstyle is the fastest and easiest way to achieve that.
