  • i like how everyone says "35r" as a general term. 70, 83, 96, 1.xx ar.....t3 or t4 hotside.....which one? lol....believe it or not it makes a difference. I have an scm6152 on my bone stock talon motor and i have full boost in 3rd anywhere between 3900 and 4900rpm depending on the tune, timing, or temp. Sheesh

  • but to answer your question. if i turn boost down, it doesnt really spool faster. I'll just get my peak power faster. so in a sense you sorta get a faster spool, but not by much.

  • i have gt35r slowboyracing fixed in my car with motec ACU.272 cam, 1000cc inj, 2.4 let enegen,borted head, intake manefold.

    i get 550WHP with 97 oktean.But with 115 oktean i get around 600 t0 630WHP. carfull tune.

  • First Of All, Many of u in here talk with no sense, i Drive a evo ix with green so cal area 400 whp on pump, the green is a good all around turbo. you put a 35 r on race gas and a green on race gas and a 35 R will leave a green 1 or 2 miles back, as for daily driving a green is 3 times better and of corse if more reliable and i love the power the green gives you for being a direct bolt on....

  • 100% correct. the fp green was designed to be efficient on pump gas, while a gt35r thrives on race gas.

  • You are absolutely right...I have an 05 VIII with the green, 1000cc inj, 272 cams, AEM EMS etc and you hit the nail on the head. A well setup green is a deadly street car with a huge fun factor and will beat 95% of cars on the road.!

  • FP Green: nasty street car turbo, worth every penny, prolly the furthest i would go for my car.

    GT35R: nasty drag/time attack turbo that most yahoos put in their street cars n blow shit up when not tuned or built right. built to do the best with race gas (keyword RACE gas lol)

  • Im one of them yahoo's that use a gt35r on the street.. Stock head, stock block, 3 years and going strong. 93 octane, Ive ran as much as 28psi, making well into the 500hp range, Ive never had an issue with blowing the engine up.. Drive train parts, are another story... It has minimal lag, and I wouldnt change a thing.

  • you've got an AMS 35R kit, thats why it runs the way it does. my boy just threw one on his car and for being un-tuned ut hits boost FAST and deff aint as laggy as i imagined it would be! all them evo big turbo guys need to have AMS kits if they hate lag, and they need to do that ASAP.

  • Would you use the green for time attack? If not, then what size of the track are we talking about for the 35r to run on to make it a time attack instead of the green?

  • that really depends on what response you're looking for, and power. the green will have WAY more response, versus the 35R which is one of the kings of power production.

  • I really depends on how you drive too. you can get a 35r in there an it can be better. just depends on driving habits. like in the apex, you have to step on the gas earlier to build power coming out of it.

  • Ah I see...but, I don't think my driving will be like that. It'll be like slow down, turn in while letting go of gas or tapping the gas, exit turn and slam on gas full throttle. I want the boost to build almost right away as soon as I hit the throttle.

  • I could go into lower gear, but that means that I'm just gonna have to shift up AGAIN at the exit of the turn, which I'd much rather just slam on the gas and shift up again later on. But with the FP Green, about when does it spool? How much HP you making?

  • it starts to spool at 2.5k an hits full boost at around 3.3-3.5k. Im at about 400whp on a mild tune. with 29psi. I usually turn it down to 23psi for a dd. an 30psi for when i want to shut ppl up.

  • lol....crazy tune. so you dont care if you blow up your car huh? the only important mods you'll need are a fp green, injectors, fuel pump, licp, ported/coated exhaust manifold, bigger O2 housing, boost controller, tbe, and a good tune.

    Other little things would be boost and afr gauges. maybe even a egt gauge to watch what your engine is doing. youll need the boost and afr to really fine tune the car though. I'm sure you know this already.

  • no, it does not make it spool faster. An FP green should see you to 450hp no problem.

  • I have a gt35 with a built 2.0 and a hand full of other parts and full spool is before 5k, around 4500 in 3rd gear from 30mph. And 9.2's with a gt35r. That's news to me, I thought the fastest a gt35 evo has gone is 9.40's. I could be wrong about the time but 6500 how long the 42r takes. get a clue

  • What all does he have done to his car? The fastest I have heard about is 9.40's. I said I could be wrong because I haven't heard of any gt35 Evo doing a 9.2's. Gt40r and Gt42r and occasionally a Gt37r run faster than 9.40. I would think he is completely gutted with meth on c16 and slicks. I know there are evo's that don't post vids, I am one, or post on any forums or go to any major event, so I could be wrong. Timeslips don't mean much, I can get a 7 second timeslip if I wanted to.

  • I was really replying in regards to the gt35r spooling at 6500 rpm. Even with a built 2.0 the gt42 with see full boost by 6500, if not sooner. And the "main power" starts as soon as it is fully spooled, 4k or so. Sure you might have more power up top but you will feel it once it spools and keeps pulling.

  • I know I shouldn't, it is a character flaw lol. I just think people should be educated or informed before speaking. Even on my stock block it spooled around 4500. But I can say that when I was running meth and stock turbo at 26 psi, I beat a few gt35 evo's at low boost, 20-24 psi. The gt35 shines above 26 psi, all the way to 35, where I run with c16. Soon it will be a gt42 so that should be fun, 10k and 40-50 psi, on the street!

  • You know, for awhile I wasn't even reading the comments on many videos for this very reason. "There is no way that evo could beat that supra, or the small turbo evo can be a gt30 or gt35." I have a quick evo, I don't have a camcorder in my car and I don't need it. So people will say, that driver sucked or other bs. And 20-24 psi on a gt35 isn't that much fun. I made the same power on my stock turbo with a little meth.

  • Wow.........I haven't read so many back to back ignorant comments in a while.... I have a GT35R, hence my I.D.. The GT35R took his foot off the pedal. There is probably a 100-180 whp difference between the largest GT30R and GT35R at full boost.

  • 35r turbos need like 25psi+ just to start spinning. at like 30psi and up is where they really shine.

  • Haha, I can barely understand what he wrote. Anywayz...both are great turbos. forced performance has been producing some of the best turbos for years, before the gt30 and the gt35Rs the fp green and fp red ruled the land. I think they are pretty much obsolete now with garrett stepping up and producing the biggest and baddest small displacement 4 cylinder turbos that money can buy.
