  • I always appreciate hearing a different view but this was stupid. Your basically saying he's evil for having a cross in his add? and yes a lot of the former presidents used religion a lot when campaigning maybe less recently but all the same they did, why? because a good well balanced christian is suppose to love, be kind, responsible and respectful, sure not all of them do this but a majority do, its like telling some one "I'm college educated" for the most part it means you can learn.

  • All 43 presidents Christians...Please

  • The Constitution of the United States of America. Read it.

  • Fun fact Pwnage came from a StarCraft 1 map that was misspelled.(

O is next to the P on keyboard) but became a staple in ladder games thus cementing the phrase into internet history.

  • I wouldn't say PWNed - more of a TKO.

As for the 2nd question - It's not wrong for a candidate to make references to Jesus / show a cross in political ads - it's an intrinsic part of their identity. Otherwise you can argue that an ad about a candidate's Black upbringing is exclusionary to other races. However is it shameless pandering that flies in the faith of the humility which is supposedly implicit in "religion"? Abso-expletive-lutely.

  • Why did he let Cavuto get away with claiming that all 43 presidents have been Christians? Cavuto is ignorant of US history. From my take, it wasn't until Andrew Jackson, our 7th president, that we had our first real Christian president. And...apparently he was so quiet about it, so as not to display or advertise his religion, that he hid his Bible and snuck to church on Sunday (read his biography American Lion). After him were many non-Christian presidents, including Lincoln.

  • I thought the division between religion and State was a HUGE deal for Americans, constitutional even.

If so why wasn't he getting slammed for obviously highlighting religious aspects of his politics?

  • they should let Atheists Run as well 4 office, lol what are these so believers scared of, lol i have an i idea, what they are scared of.

1# loseing money in their colection plate 2# losing power of there so called followers to give money, say TAX THE CHURCHES,

  • weren't John Adams and Thomas Jefferson and possibly others not christian? i could have sworn that many of our founding fathers were deist and opposed religion but allowed the free practice anyway because they were against suppressing people and ideas.

  • @PAROHO9 Well John Adams was actually unitarian. Which denies the trinity, believes jesus was just a regular man but wise one and believed that one should worry about doing gods work than worrying what others were believing.

  • @XPsychoBurgundyX

They frequently feature people from Christian think-tanks and Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity are pretty clearly Christian. If they were really agnostic or secular they would probably re-evaluate half of their positions and make fewer ludicrous claims.

  • You would think the last thing jesus would want to see is a cross.

  • @Boudiga

    HAHAHA <3

  • Comment removed

  • @realnameunknown2011 I'm sorry I took your thunder. I didn't realize man, really sorry about that. Would you like me to delete this statement?

  • @Boudiga

nar just live it, its ok

iv just said the same thing b 4, but i even heard it, on Tv

ether Eage Tv or channel 200 or 201, on sky, i even have it in one of my videos what was said.

  • @Boudiga wow good one... I would think it's a sign of showing how he died. But since you're so much smarter than the ones who wrote the bible I'll have to agree with you. haha.

  • It's one thing to state your religion of choice. It's another to use it in a secular environment to gain a political office.

  • @EmbraceDorkhood I was speaking generally. But the hardcore atheists really can't be argued with, just like strong Christians can't be argued with. Again, generally speaking.

  • Pwn

  • Does Fox news get funded by the churches? Fair and balanced? Did Neil let the viewer decide?

  • Yes, pwned.

  • Yeah he was wrong he's trying to get the christian vote and ultimately not posing any damn reason to do so. A theist of any type that wants whats good for the country not a person who will try to use your beliefs against you would not vote for this douche on that ad.

  • Smart Christians don't argue with atheists, because they know that Atheists won't accept their opinions. They are content to stick with what they see of God in their life and follow the teachings of Jesus. If science or logic contradicts something they believe, they will accept the new fact.

Stupid Christians believe that they can fight with atheists, and that the atheists will accept everything they say. They know so little that many atheists know more of the Bible and morality.

  • You know what i think of youtub e employee or fag admin??

    Fat, lazy and stupid!!!

  • I find that ad absolutely disgusting. It's about as low as you can go and as desperate as you can be. I've always said, Newdow's arguments and logic are flawless. Intellectually, you can't not agree with him. What it boils down to is personal bias and your own religiousness, as you can see by Cavuto's behavior.

  • I think the most upsetting thing about this video is Neil's claim that all former presidents were Christians. Jefferson and Washington (both deists) come to mind immediately.

  • cross two sticks in the background and the omnipotent skydaddy will be pleased, will give reward, will support one -what a disgustingly poor thought

  • Newdow was correct.

  • we dont need so called christians predicting when the world is going to end,or telling each other (YOURE GOING TO HELL)

  • Using religion in politics is the same as using atheism and Anti-Christian propaganda for politics. And just because Huckabee says he is christian doensn't mean he is against/doesn't care about other religious people, he is just mentioning his own faith. Newdow was not right in any of his arguements because he didn't use one logical arguement

  • I'm not sure about the ad - it could really have been inadvertent (the cross, that is); I'm not so sure it was deliberate. On the other hand I think Newdow is a very effective communicator, which is why you will probably never see him on Fox again.

  • lol " I can't hold office, I'm an atheist."

  • Huckabee wasn't "wrong" he was honest. He's IS a zealot that doesn't care about others. Would it be better if he hid it?

  • @no2religions

    It wouldn't.

  • Religion, primarily fundamental Christianity has compromised the integrity of the democratic process in the U.S.

  • @luisdez81

I agree. They say "oh yeah, democracy is god's plan!" Yet when people vote in favor of gay marriage, abortions, etc, then they start saying it's not god's will.

  • Yes you are Correct LiberalViewer. And yes Mike Huckabee should not have had the cross in his add campaign. Separation of Church and State, was put into effect for a reason.

  • Huckabee's out. Guess he realized there aren't enough fundies to vote for him. Good call, Huckster.

  • Yep owned. And Its church and state u was obviously trying to get the Christians to vote for him

  • Shut up, who the fuck cares dude. Get a fucking life.

  • all the presidents were not christian

  • @FlyinSpaghettiMnstr7 Any intelligent person knows that. That's why it's always Christians who make this claim. They're either too dumb to know any better, or they do know and just lie about it.

  • Great video, just never pronounce "pwn" again, please. It's a linguistic meme based upon a typo, man, c'mon

  • This is not new. Politicians use any ruse to make people think that they are honest, reliable, caring, moral, and with family values. And using the name of God or a cross in their ads will give them the image of a religious candidate who will take care of them in the name of God so, religious fanatical people will be convinced of his intentions. As soon as they win the election everything is forgotten until the next campaign. Hipocrisy at its worst!

  • I was looking forward to watch this, but was bummed on how much you the narrator broke it down, i mean I would have liked to watch it myself, I didnt have to have you hold my hand the whole time I watched this, and no he made a point but pawned no one

  • no and no ya dipshit. looks like some fairly unintersting conversation about bullshit. and could we stop using pnwd in our political dicourse. fuckin dumbass. ohhhh look, i dont believe in god...some1 respect me....what a waste of time this arguement is..and here i am contributing. we should all go smoke a bowl and chill out

  • Newdow is good. I am glad I am on his side!

  • Religion is such a game of circles.... smh

  • I would be more offended of the horrible misunderstanding of Christmas.

  • Atheism FTW

  • CAVUTO you fat dumb fuck

  • Huckaboob was wrong. He follows the unconstitutional idea that the majority rules so he feels safe doing what he did. This country was founded by religious extremists and it will take a long time to flush away the damage that legacy has and is doing to the nation.

  • i hate PWN, i wish we'd forget it already, i liked OWNED. that's outta my system......lol, yes, you um.. won. and it is slimy to use the symbol that means love to most (dumb) americans to gain their vote. and as a response to your most popular comment here, you're right, theists lose their footing in arguing against atheists, BECAUSE THEY'RE THE ONES TELLING FAIRYTALES IN THE 21ST!!! easy to weed out the lunatics here. one day religions (i hope) will simply be left behind.........

  • instead of calling out the politicians using religion as a crutch for election, I suggest we teach the American people not to vote for someone just because they have the same religion.

  • @miiwiiplay That seems impossible in the present if I understand it right. There´s just too many Americans who don´t seem to care about factual questions but are basicly just interested in making sure that someone who claims to be a Christian gets elected. And think that it is an abomination if it even can be questioned if a president is a Christian for real and go to church often enough. Such a person might be a devil worshiper! Or brings God´s wrath on Amurreca!

  • @miiwiiplay continued

How does a western country manage to produce so many rednecks that religiosity is necessary to get elected as a president? What has happend? I mean these kind of issues don´t seem to have been very important 30 years ago? And why does these kind of rednecks seem to be surprised about atheists being loud in the US? I hope there is a trend reversing this that I just haven´t noticed yet. Because in such positions it is a threat to the world peace with religious extremists

  • @katnils Kat, it escapes me as well how we end up always getting poor choices of elected officials. Here is your "choice" of political candidates: wanker #1 or wanker #2....sigh !!

  • @orangemod Hahaha! I don´t know about that. I´m not American. Bush didn´t seem too smart. Or that creationist Tea party woman that I just forgot the name of. But it baffles me how important it is to claim to be a believing Christian to even have a chance to be elected as a spresident. And that is not even enough. I have seen that some American Christians are also very intersted in how often Obama goes to church. Apparantly he plays golf more often so maybe he serves the devil? Sigh...

  • @katnils Kat...bizarre isn't it !!! I personally don't know religious zealots who think like that, but obviously they are out there. Squeaky wheel gets the grease I suppose. Buncha nutters as far as I am concerned. You would think that a country with a Constitution and Bill of Rights that is very clear as it relates to keeping the Government out of the religion, things would be different. I'm always left just shaking my head, going: WTF !!!

  • @miiwiiplay continued (whatever the religion) who lack understanding for people in other religions. I could have puked every time Bush talked about his war against terrorism and ended with "God bless America". Why the f*** should a god be only on the side of Americans? Why not on the side of every peace loving human? And how could he even say that he asked Jesus if he should go to war? Did he want to create more Islamic extremists hating the western world or what is wrong with him?

  • It was a bookshelf...And where is all the outrage over Barack Obama's profession of faith at every opportunity?

  • @Cnd1867 Yes, a bookshelf indeed? Gently lit from within. With no books?

I have a question? I can only presume you mean his profession of Christian faith. Did you also find yourself upset about His preacher Rev. Jeremiah Wright? I agree with you, religion should be kept away from matters of public office. Once one is involved they will all want to be.

  • pwnded

  • Huckabee was wrong, but still Newdow didn't pwn anyone. His arguements were pretty weak as well. He failed to "go for the throat" so to speak. He blew his chance to make his point honestly.

  • Wrong yes. But at least I am sure who I won't vote for now.

  • I don't agree with christianity myself, but I think he has the right to say anything he wants, he just wouldn't get non-christian votes. That's all. =:)

  • @gordogreat74 Agreed, but note that Newdow didn't say it was illegal, he only only said it was "slimy". Which I agree, it is.

  • Eh, he kept his cool and made his point, which isn't easy when the interviewer is interrupting and trying to trip you up. Huck really should just come out and say that he doesn't consider non-Christians to be fully authentic Americans.

  • No, no pwnage. If anything, he let Cavuto put words in his mouth and he rose to his bait, but I do approve of his level-headedness.

As far as Huckabee, his ad was unrelated to any campaigning. There's nothing unethical about his laying his cards on the table about his beliefs. To denounce that is to to support religious oppression.

  • MONOTONE. RUN-ON. SENTENCES.

  • @VirtualBilly oh shut up, stupid ass troll.

  • Maybe not pwned, but responded well.

Mike Huckabee was definitely wrong to use religion for political gain... but then again, that makes him an American politician. Nothing new there.

  • Faux news exist for the sole purpose of being owned. The question is irrelevant.

  • errr george washington was agnostic fox fails

  • As a political tactic it is fairly smart, seeing as how most Americans are christian. But as a religious statement, it must be blasphemous!..? I'm sure there must be something in the bible about not using faith for personal gain.

  • @godonlyknows1101 -----"I'm sure there must be something in the bible about not using faith for personal gain."

How about " My kingdom is not of this world". That pretty much says that Christianity doesn´t belong in politics according to Jesus. Besides that it´s obviously undemocratic to infest politics with whatever religion since it of course is a personal choice of faith and nothing else.

And besides the slimy part with abusing religion for personal gain.

  • seperation of church and state right no matter what right , he got pwned by that atheist

  • I wouldn't say *pwn*. But he had good points.

And, on the bigger question, no Huckabee is free to campaign how he wants (as long as it harms no one.)

  • Keep religious people politics did we not learn anything we put George W. Bush in power

  • Despite arguments of freedom of religion, the greatest issue of all being addressed by this is Huckabee's blatant disregard for one of the greatest founding ideals of this country, the separation of church and state, or in this case, of church and national government. Can we really expect a secular government body from a man who uses religion to further his own political campaign? I think not.

  • @inkheart1414 separation of church and state isn't in the Constitution.

And it only applies to laws made in congress.

  • Huckabee brought Jesus into it and still LOST!?!?

    Rationalize that, dipshit theists.

  • you youtube and i decide. Well, i dont think huckabee was wrong for practicing freedom of religion. It's his right as an American. But it was a fail move to do the cross thing so blatantly

  • I'm now convinced that liberals haven't a clue what being "pwnd" means or when an argument is won or lost. Do yourself a favor LiberalViewer and don't try to judge a winner in debates or back and forth belly aching. For god sake man, that dork with the glasses that you've been quarreling with has been pwning your ass all over youtube. Sorry but he just makes better arguments with more facts to back it up.

  • nobody was "pwned" in this clip. this was one of the most unimportant clips of new i have ever seen! nobody said atheists, believe this! all i heard was, Christians, stop this!

  • looked like a damn shelf and an atheist like Michael Newdow took it up the ass about it.... fox got pwnd but still... does Michael Newdow have nothing else to do besides argue about the word god in government...... sucks i gotta do a damn report about this clown in political science class

  • Why is everyone so scared?

  • only fox news can make such a big hysterica over a FUCKING SHELF!!!

  • It's a shelf, however, you'll notice that the pan cleverly places Huckabee in front of the cross. Very interesting. I agree that Huckabee was wrong and also there is definite PWNAGE here. I'd also like to reiterate as others have done on your post, that not all our presidents have been Christians.

  • It's a shelf, however, you'll notice that the pan cleverly places Huckabee in front of the cross. Very interesting.

  • I think Newdow was off on this. Maybe I'm not seeing what you guys are, but I just see some shelves behind him. I'm skeptical that Huckabee was purposely trying to make a cross.

I think he's spot on when it comes to the fact it is wrong as a politition to specifiy religion. If someone casually asks you then fine, but you represent all Americans, not just Christians.

Also wasn't Lincoln and Jefferson non-Christians? Deists at least? Surprised Newdow didn't bring this up.

  • @garveya1 Washington and Adams as well. Adams was most certainly a Deist

  • Ummm all 43 U.S. Presidents we're Christians? I don't know for sure, but I believe that John Adams was very secular, and with that said I think that many other US Presidents we're very secular.

  • @MrUnlimitedRange Most of them probably said they were...or pretended to be. In reality I bet many were atheists, but they never would have been elected if they said they were an atheist.

  • @ms9809 "Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and the political as useful."

  • @MrUnlimitedRange You're right, Jefferson and Adams were what's known as 'deists' or 'theists' people who believed in a spiritual god but didn't directly follow the teachings of the Bible or Jesus as absolute truth.

  • I'm not American but everytime I see Michael Newdow he elates me. He is always calm in confrontation and holds his own everytime. I can't help admiring him, he has done a lot for Atheists and is the type of person you would love to have a pint with. Thumbs up for Atheism.

  • Not all of our past presidents were christions. Washington was a deist for one and lincon was a atheist

  • When will people stop saying it's a cross? It's a friggin BOOKCASE.

  • @ManOfDeath567 Shut up.

  • I'm pretty sure that using Jesus to get elected is considered a sin. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Anyways it makes me sick how fox "news" are always trying to attack atheism. As the disbelief in a deity makes us crazy. Cause that makes sense, right?

It also makes me sick how they act as if they're tolerating us. They make atheist seem like some sort of brainwashed cult, and they are the understanding news station. BS

  • Yes separation of church and state. Republicans only believe in money/the kkk/themsevles

  • @wiccanmoonman KKK originated in the Democrat party.

  • @ManOfDeath567 they are republican now

  • Religious idiots should never be in power. You heathens will enjoy "Religious Fanatic tries to convert Atheist" on my channel.

  • Atheist won :D

  • That's the next challenge, an atheist president

  • @MrSwedenik Agreed.

  • Not every president has been christian.

Some were deists. Some were atheist.

  • @mots35 openly atheist? Never heard of this.

  • i find it offencive because he is basically saying im christian im better the a jew, muslim or an atheist. why are christians better then? they are better then muslims but they are not better then jews and atheist. my mother is catholic and she saw this video and she found it inapropried. im an atheist and im dam proud of it.

  • @TheIcelandicPatriot Lol, if you're an atheist then how can you say one religion is better then another?

  • @speedofdark23 You can judge a religion based on its teachings. If one religion says to love your enemy, and another says to kill your enemy, the former is a superior religion. Unfortunately, very few people of any religions live up to all the precepts set forth by said religion, and some of them selectively chose only the most destructive precepts. Since all religions have destructive precepts all religions are bad. Some are worse than others.

  • @DeadCTR Think about this now... why the hell would there be merit in loving your enemy??

  • @618033988749 My point is a religion that says to spread the "good news" in a peaceful fashion is superior to a religion that says to kill anyone who refuses to convert. Unfortunately nearly all religions are guilty of killing infidels and many still do. As to loving your enemy, I have defused many potentially violent situations by following this precept. It prevents escalation of conflict.

  • @DeadCTR Okay, fair enough. I appreciate where you're coming from. Forgive me for the irritated tone of my original response. I think I misunderstood what you were trying to say.

  • @DeadCTR thats true..love not war *beatles* cough* john lennon* is preached by christians except for the many crusades, wars and in fighting over land between rich familys and kingdoms all over europe the huge catholic churchs authority to kill all homosexuals and protostants...yet not abort a baby that was born through rape...the promotion of torture and slavery + the arbritrary denial of aid /food to any person who didnt convert to christianity :\ hm yes ive got a point ya reckon?

  • @thelondongeezer Absolutely. I already agreed with you: "Since all religions have destructive precepts, all religions are bad. Some are worse than others."

  • @DeadCTR thats tru even tho there has been many good saint like deeds done by ordinary people to help humanity inspired by religons thats far exclipsed by the murders wars genocides ignorant rascism ect theyve perpetrated.Usa was founded on (not paying taxes :L) religiuos freedom not catholic christian rules but moral and fair philisofical ideals, so why u have to swear to god /allah / alien beings ( scientology) jehova /satan/ shaq oniel /bob i dont know? rant over xD

  • @TheIcelandicPatriot what makes them better than muslims

  • @quetzalrojo oh yeah? i have read the god dilusion. i strugel to see any rage in his words. when i see you on the other had, i see someone that is historicaly iliterate.

  • @quetzalrojo oh yeas he was. he said he was chatolic. he never showed a shing that he was not chatolic and he killed atheists. if he was atheist then why did he killed them?

  • Comment removed

  • Never mind the dubious claim that ALL our presidents have been Christians; religion used to be a private matter, especially when it comes to public office. It's only until recently that the abhorrent practice of campaigning on religion started, and you can bet your ass Christians have been the driving force behind this.

  • PWND

    You are right.

  • Just about every theist has difficulty holding their own against atheists, this isn't exactly unexpected.

  • @Legit73Resurected depends who the opponent is, if the atheist doesn't know that much about the bible the theist could use it to their advantage

  • @siwooot I disagree...how is the Bible relevant in an argument? That would be like me referring to the Three Little Pigs to support an argument about architecture.

  • @ms9809 i see theists make up shit about the bible all the time to support their arguments, but if an athiest knows the bible he can dismiss the argument, i agree its like using the three little pigs but the argument would be about a god anyway so you might as well be arguing over fair tales

  • @siwooot I see your point. Well said my friend :)

  • @Legit73Resurected Maybe there is a reason behind that??

  • @quetzalrojo you brought up hitler in the first place.

  • @quetzalrojo

Sorry, I accdientally gave you a thumbs up when I meant to hit "reply." Anyways, I've watched Richard Dawkin's and many of his interviews, he is DEFINITELY not a lunatic. He has a calm, soft voice and I have never seen any hint of rage behind it. I think you're just attacking him because he is an atheist.

  • @quetzalrojo Anyone who wasn't white and catholic were removed like the jews, gays, and blacks in the country

    his mother was also jewish

  • @quetzalrojo Hitler came to political power through Germany's depression through WWI, the massive debt made people believe in anyone as confident as him.

    Hitler was Catholic btw.

  • @quetzalrojo so, your point is that all atheists are lunatics, and it is right because you said so. Hmm to think that somebody would bother to look for evidence, or at least reason logically is absurd, debating just consists of saying you are right and that's it! Its also quite funny to see how you ask christine to control her emotions, in all caps and with 30 exclamation marks, yeah you show self control.

  • 1:57 what he said right there is exactly what's wrong with the ad, i guess this Cavuto tool doesn't realize that.

  • Huckabee fails

  • Yes. Yes.

  • I'm an atheist and frankly, I don't think it's a big deal. I mean he made a point to say THE BIRTH OF CHRIST in the same damn ad so the visual of the cross didn't matter that much.

  • @RequiemForMyReverie it whuld not mather to me too. but the proplem is that he is runing for office.

  • @christinepeace If it makes you feel any better, I don't know what the hell this person is trying to say to you either.

  • @RequiemForMyReverie Thanks a bunch and yes it does any time someone says something nice have a great day.

    Cheers Christine

  • Yeah he pwned him xD No, it's not right either, trying to say all Americans are christian is what he is doing and that is just bullshit. Soon religion will be done for anyway though so I am not worried.

  • I'm with you like 99% of the time, but here i gotta divorce away.

The "cross" is just a bookshelf, with paradolic human brains screaming "cross" out at you. realise its a bookshelf and watch it again.

Its not a subliminal message, and huckabee got alot of unneeded flak for it. now the message itself was religously motivated, and critique of that i can see, but the whole "cross" element i'm skeptical of. Paraedolia (spelling) is a well known phenomenon and Occam's razor dictates its happenstance

  • Ah yes, the subliminal asymetrical window cross.

  • These guys are atheists * James Madison * James Monroe * Martin Van Buren * William Henry Harrison * John Tyler * Zachary Taylor * Andrew Johnson * Ulysses S. Grant * Rutherford B. Hayes * Chester Arthur

    These guys are non christian

George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, James Monroe, John Tyler, and Abraham Lincoln

and John Quincy adams was a Unitarian

Some of these folks attended some services but there is no proof they were religious

  • FTW.

  • Wait a minuet, did he just say ALL 42 presidents were christian? Hasn't it been proven that Thomas Jefferson was an atheist? What a fucking idiot.

  • yes

    and

    yes

  • with the money thing "in god we trust" do people not know we have two atheist on dollar bills. we have ben franklin and thomas jefferson both atheist

  • LOL... PWNED... religion needs to get the F*** out of politics

  • while I will agree that using the cross in a political ad was slimy. It's no more slimier than all the other b.s.; politicians use when trying to get your vote. Same bullshit, just a different angle that's all

  • I'm sickened that it's impossible for anyone to become president without saying they are Christian. They have to admit to a belief in magic in order to get elected. A belief in the Bible is a belief in pixies, leprechauns, Santa Claus, you name it. It won't always be this way, that I am sure of.

  • hell yeah he owned his ass, lock stock and barrel. Then again its Cavuto, we are not talking about a heavy weight here!!!

  • you are right he did pwned him and yes cross shouldn't be used...

  • I would say yes. Too bad many Americans wouldn't say yes

  • Newdow always can give a concise rebuttal to these stupid questions I'd just go blank and spend a minute trying to figure out where to start with how wrong this guy is

  • Our former presidents were not all Christians. Man, Fox News fails so much, they're almost the Detroit Lions of journalism.

  • I wish I was half as smart as Michael Newdow. I agree with everything he says, but I don't think I could think on my feet quickly enough to say it if I was questioned.

  • Refusing to take and defend a position isn't difficult or impressive.

  • There is absolutely no historical evidence that Jesus ever existed.

There were many people at the time who called themselves the

messiah but in terms of the son of god who performed miracles, no evidence what so ever.

To believe in Jesus is a matter of faith and you can't convince a believer of anything; for their belief is not based on evidence, it's based on a deep-seated need to believe.
