Hercrabbiness, I hear your point about the game being stupid because you have to be at the right place at the right time, but this is a murder mystery. It is up to the player to observe and follow clues, and stay on top of the story, and if you do, you are rewarded with unfolding the mystery.

Gloria's last name in the game is referred to as Swansong, an homage to Gloria Swanson. Her look, to some degree, is based on that of Swanson, as is some of her backstory (a has-been silent film actress). Her mannerisms, too, are very close to Swanson's in Sunset Boulevard, although that film took place long after the silent film era in which The Colonel's Bequest is set. I get the impression that Gloria is in her thirties or early forties, closer to Swanson's age in Sunset Boulevard.

I like games where you type in what you wanna do... I had a game where i'd fool around and try to tell my character to do unessecary violent things like "kill self" :P

Me too, except if you have to do things in two seconds and you can't type fast and well (like me) it's a little hard.

I did that too though in King's Quest 2, I typed 'kill princess' and got a message saying something like "Are you NUTS? Stop messing around." Awful of me I know ^^; Ah good times. I played it a lot as a kid.

I nearly decided to dl this game but it seems that once again an old sierra adventure game has these missable parts that make you play the game several times. I had enough with Space Quest 1 where you need a piece of glass from the first screen to be used at the very end. Sad how this genre went out of fashion.

I think I´ll just watch these videos through. Besides, it´s kinda nice to have your commentary on this. Good job.
