Actually according to a Iranian researcher, who have researched Kurds and their ancestry for 16 years, has this theory. He believes that Kurds have different ancestry, from at least two different places. 1, the Kurds of Iran (Except Urmiye) and Sorani Kurds of North Iraq are of Mediyan ancestry, and the Kurds of North West Iraq who speak in the Kurmanji dialect (Where I am from) and the North Syrian Kurds derive from the Assyrians. I don't remember what he thought about the Kurds in Trkey though

Yes, it's abit different with you. You are really the same, at least most of you. We Kurds too are the same, but we are a mix of different ancient cultures who have become one under the name Kurd, which derives from the land of Karda or Beth Qardu as recorded in Assyrian scripts. They are all modern day Kurds name ancestors if you know what I mean, we all have our name fromt them, but not necesarely by genes, at least not fully. They were known as Carduchi by Greeks and Corduene by Romans.

I think most Kurds are aware of the Assyrian history, but you have to understand it has become our home too. Many of us most likely are Medofied/Kurdified/Iranified Assyrians, others are of invading Mediyan/Iranian ancestry and have come here a long time ago. Clearly we have been living in peace together for a long time.
Maybe the bad days came in modern times, maybe with Islam, or with the world wars? I don't really know, but this is also home to Kurds now, but we should respect Assyrians.

We originate from these lands and other places nearby, as I explained before, we are most likely a mix of indigenous people and invaders/immigrants who lived nearby.
It has not been done enough research for Kurdish origins. Some also say we have Hurrian ancestry. Maybe researchers are afraid of the big task of fully researching Kurds and their origins once and for all? Maybe it's too much work. I don't know to be honest, but Assyrians definatly close to us culturaly.

I come from Duhok/Nuhadra(in Assyrian) and I have been there many times, long vacations 1-2 months and have never seen ORDINARY Kurdish citizens OR police/military ever have any tensions with any Assyrians. I always see the Church in my city, actually there are more than one, but the one that is in my neighbourhood and it is always peaceful there.
I think it must be the leadership. I have uncles who have Assyrian wifes I know of Assyrians with Kurdish wifes, you can't just look at negative side
