98 million to kim Jong to give up nuclear weapons from us you and me. 20 million to political prisoners and there rights in Castro's Cuba 6 million to promote civil society in Hugo Chaves's Venezuela. I know lets cut this off and we can pay for it
This guy is an imperialistic clown, and he could pass for Hannity's brother. Life is more important than "winning" a war, etc. We're running an empire like Britain before us. Wake up people!
OK, so CJ thinks we're running an empire, fine. Sure, we had to run Iraq initially but there were things that we didn't do properly like not using Saddam's troops to control the Iraq. But hey, we gave them the power to control eventually. Thus, I don't see enough evidence for your case.
You know the solution is to defund them, especially Saudi oil because that way the Middle East will be FORCE to have its kids into education, so they'll build things, not destroy them. Thus, this creates fewer terrorists in the long-run and the war can be smaller.
It's a nice thought. If only. I'm afraid big-oil politics rules the day, though. And too few Americans understand why we're such a joke over there... we toppled the first democracy they ever had in the region (Iran), and played cold war politics over there like it was nobody's business. Our memory is short; theirs is long.
That's why Toyota, Home Depot, and others with alternative energy need to bash big oil. and I think they're successfully succeeding. That's why Toyota is #1 over GM b/c GM kept on producing SUVs in which they knew won't last forever ($100/barrel).
Would you please be a little more specific of how you think he's wrong? That "in everyway" answer doesn't cut it for me. Also, why are you labeling me as a "troll";I was only wondering?
Because that's what trolls do... pepper forums with short "questions", and delighting by all the time it takes other people to respond and "explain" themselves. It's a fool's errand. Bye.
Since you won't answer me, I'll tell you that, yes, we can blame Bush...to an extent. Then come all of the other factors like the Muslim culture. Yes, they must be out of their minds. No wonder India is growing rapidly because all they do is build things, not destroy them, like what those people did to Bhutto.
Joe's biggest mistake, IMHO, is his opinion that Americans don't (and shouldn't) care what's happening in other parts of the world, because our fearless leaders can do our thinking for us. Who's to blame? My guess: a small number of whack-jobs intent on destabilizing the Musharraf regime (which is why no one stepped forward, shift blame to Musharraf). Bhutto for being reckless... Bush for insisting she go there to participate.
Oh silly little mika, so weak/simple minded and impressionable.

How are we running an empire, then?

There is not enough room to explain, and others do it better. I invite you to read some of Chalmers Johnson's works on this topic.

OK, I can buy into that Bush hasn't closed our borders but how do we make our country safer?

In every way, troll. How is he correct? (besides his admission that his family and circle of friends are also dipshits?)

A 30% rating is comfortable? 70% of Americans can't obviously be liberals, what with the last 'elections'.
NOW, the MSM is pimping that Al-Qaeda assassinated her. Holy fuck! Is this what the CIA has been up to? God, I hope this isn't their endgame...
