  • That looks like the Xanadu building. lol -

  • well it's one of my favorite videos of all time you all ever heard of the group "The Deele"?

  • YouTube is as close to a real time machine as we humans will ever get. Songs like these make me remember back to when every person in my family was alive. What memories.

  • This good music takes me back to a good era. Very good...

  • many of us still know how to love I swear!

  • This song deserves way more views--

    ^

Please look at this NEW RnB song entitled--GOD IS GOOD EVEN IF

Just Enter: mark behrens (in the search field)--Thanks.

  • Nobody cares if you are 13 or 15 etc. I liked this song when I was 5. big deal. Good music and those who are appreciate it are ageless

  • this song is great i love it

  • I loved Jody Watley , but this replacement was freakin gorgeous !

  • @mshortstop Yes she was!!

  • This song is about people doing wicky-wicky.

  • I'm 13, wasn't even alive when this came out, but I still think this song is amazing!!

  • @HirstA10 Hey, good music is good music.

  • I'm 15 and I'd pick this song over Bruno mars any day. <3

    screw mainstream =)

  • @BlahBlahFreakenBlah BRUNO MARS MUSIC IS A F-ING PIECE OF DOG SH!T

  • great stuff

  • Love this song and love this video. Favorite part: 2:54-guitar solo over, time to GTFO!!!!!!!!

  • Boy were we some COOL dressers back then! :D

  • I had this 8 track!

  • @jazzynet1 Wow, I thought 8 tracks were gone by the time this song made it to the charts.

  • @300Spartans Yeah when i posted that I thought about it and I realized it was the Cassette and not 8 Track. However YouTube is history when you say it you have said it for prosperity :). peace out!

  • Here's some movie history for you, this is the pan pacific auditorium. the same place where Xanadu was filmed in 1980.

  • What happened to the open, where he said, 'the saga continues'? Shalamar hit #17 in Billboard, 5-26-84. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx!

  • The 4 people that dont like this song dont know what real music is!!

  • OH miss this music and infinitely better than what they put out today; condescending and disgusting rap chatter that glorifies gang violence, sexual perversion, racism and stupidity. No wonder why most minorities speak condescending language, have criminal record and 1/2 have sexually transmitted diseases.

  • OK Afford me a moment of clarity everyone.... Was this video shot on the old set to the 1981 movie Xanadu???

  • @bodylabrate yes it was

  • I may have grown up with Three Days Grace, Linkin Park, Godsmack, and any other rock band of the 90's and 2000. But I like the 80's music. It's the music with the beat that people can dance to. But unfortunatley, I can't dance. I'd like to learn though.

  • So glad I found this video!! I LOVE this song!!!

  • Great Song!

  • i like their style!yes!

  • damn bad ass song!

  • After Howard Hewitt left they should have named this group something else... it was not shalamar, it imploded.

  • @ShutUpH00ker it got even worse when how left and he was replaced with another guy

  • Miki Free is not a girl aaight. - Charley Murphy

    lmao

  • i love his voice!!!

  • Man, I remember dancing to this music and going down the road with the windows down and the music cranked all the way up with me and my friends on the weekends after the football games and we were all just crusin to this song and others like it. Great memories!

  • LOOOOVE THIS SONG!

  • shalamar was a great group , but the inhouse fighting between , the members and the record label execs, this was the thrird version, this was after Jeffery Daniels and Jody watley had left , by 1987, this group was changed again , then Howard left the group, jody and Jeffery used to be soul train Dancers, they dated and when the joined shalamar there was tension, , when howard joined them the group couldnt stand each other, they went to Europe to promote there album they did well in europe .

  • @Timmy2827 Your info is all kinds of wrong Dick Griffey wasn't paying and was pimping them that's why Ms Jody quit that was the tension. those in the 'know' back in the day know his dealings was shady. Howard was sexist Jeff was abusive. Kudos for Jody for getting the hell out of dodge.Griffey primed Howard to be the star epic fail. Jeffrey wasn't really into the grup after he moved to London watch Unfiltered on youtube Jody gives the real scoop go watch Jodys Unfiltered episodes

  • Where's Jodi Whatley?

  • @davidpcoppola Jody Watley had already left Shalamar to promote her own music like, "Looking For a New Love", Don't You Want Me" ,and 'Some Kind of Lover". She actually did very well for herself!!! Love Jody Watley!!!

  • You might want to learn how to spell lol

  • @plussizedgoddess Hey nice name, plus size, you might want to put te chicken wing down and have a diet soda instead.

  • epic music right here

  • Miss the good old days at the clubs dancin the night away! Aww to go back and do it again ♥ Great music in the 80's ♥ Who were the members, besides Jody Watley, and where did they go? Still peforming? Just curious ♥

  • @msstevie1951

I can see you and Janice dancing to this lol

  • @fuzzybunny1972 Yes you sure can, and knowing you I'll bet you were in the Vineyard sitting at the bar watching us dance at 17! We were too busy flirting with Contraband to notice if you were ! LOL! ♥ LOVE this song!

  • This Shalamar 1984 Hit, "Dancing In The Sheets," Was Played From 0:00 To 2:21, During The Soul Train Dance Line Segment, On The 449th Edition Of "Soul Train" On June 16, 1984.

  • when the chorus is on, it sends this energy through your body its crazy great song!

  • fantastic song of 80's

    i have a 12 inch

  • reminds me of 1999 by Prince

  • @joezetank

    true style of PRINCE

  • This is FANTASTIC!!!! Check out the guitarist. I wish my joints would move like that. Whatever happened to fun fantastic sometimes silly good songs. This is a true breath of fresh air.

  • I Love This Shalamar 1984 Music Video, "Dancing In The Sheets," Which Became A Top 10 Dance Hit In America, And A Top 20 R&B Hit In America. And By The Way, This Shalamar 1984 Hit, "Dancing In The Sheets," Would Be Playing In The Future On Sirius XM's The 80's On 8, WEBE-FM's WEBE 108, WHUD-FM's 100.7, WRKS-FM's 98.7 Kiss-FM, WBLS-FM's 107.5, WLTW-FM's New York's 106.7 Lite-FM, WFAS-FM's 103.9, WFAF-FM's 106.3, WKJY-FM's KJOY 98.3, WEZN-FM's Star 99.9, WALK-FM's WALK 97.5, And Many More...

  • Just Groovy!

  • hey is that Jack Black on 1:37 lol

  • Kanye could not even sing this if he tried.

  • It reminds me of "1999" by Prince. Oddly close to that music !!

  • @faventyne That's what I was thinking! Isnt it odd, but yet cool?

  • Classic,Classic,Classic, the MUSIC today really SUCKS....

  • fantastic song of 80's

  • Its good but needs taking up a pace....never quite becomes the great big sounding song it could be, for me.

  • this music makes me wish that I was born in the 80's =[ best time ever. before anything got crazy like it is now.

  • Hey blue. stay off the weed man. this is one of the really greats from that era. Back when MTV actually stood for music

  • god this is terrible. im old enough to know not all 80's music was good and this is pretty bad even by today's standards. second time around is much better song, more soul

  • Keep most of the modern trash. This is much closer to what music should be.

  • God, I just love Howard Hewitt, LOVE HIS VOICE!! ♥♥

  • THIS MUSIC IS THE BEST OF THE BEST OF THE BEST!!!!

  • They're jamming like it's 1999.

  • I miss good music like this. These youngsters can have their Kanye, Beyonce, etc. This is the real deal.

  • @RetroJenny haha nah im okay ill stick to listening to these old jams

  • @KyplayaZ4lyfe That's good to hear. I'm glad to see some young people like the older music.

  • @RetroJenny haha yep, i live in the music of 60s 70s and 80s.

  • @RetroJenny im only 14 but i like this music its way better then the music now :)

  • @jacksondurranjustin me to!!!!

  • @RetroJenny Dont judge people by the type of music that the 'mass' of people these days listen to. I'm 14 and I think most of today's music is shit (with a few exceptions) and I prefer music from the 70s, 80s and early 90s (after '95/96 it got all shit)

  • @RetroJenny

    I agree

  • @RetroJenny I Love This Kind Of Music And Im Only 20.

  • hey,that's Xanadu!!!

  • I woke up this morning, and this song was on my mind. I hadn't heard this in so long.

  • Dancing all the way. The best. Look also at my growing '80´s music channel!!!!!

  • did you know when this song came out the was called dancing in the streets ,i guess they thought it to be to pervocitive i think that is how u spell it boy i love this song 80's were great

  • I thought Jody Watley was in this group,

  • You're right, Jody Watley was one of the original members of the group. But by the time this came out she had left and they replaced her.

  • the best from the best, unbeatable
