I see on youtube a lot of complaint about people clothing being off the normal, and as if that would mean that a mohawk, or a leather jaket, or a jeans full of hole, would mean nothing or just a fashionist kid. WAKE THE FUCK UP !! People may dress whatever they find it cool, fuck that new wave of facism that complains about clothes. fuck all
does it really matter where you get your clothes? i mean if you have the right beliefs and your not a mindless drone, isn't that what makes you punk? shit i bought my pants, there i said it, i paid money for bondage pants. come fucking do something about it.
@ForgottenRebel77 That's okay friend, you're right. As long as you have the right beliefs that's all that matters. I always laugh at the so called "Punks" who think they're REAL PUNKS because they dress normal. You know? Whether they believe it or not, they're still wearing a uniform. At least if you see a bunch of punks with mohawks and spikes they're different than your average person. When you dress completely normal your just another head in the crowd. But really, we all dress how we like.
Hey, you guys goin' on early 80s New Wave, first off, from what I understood back then, there was not really a separate distinction between New Wave and Punk until the suits got involved at the big labels. It was all New Wave, under the same umbrella. And even if the distinction did come about, at least early 80s new wave pop was fucking miles better than the drudgy prog rock the preceeded it. I'd take The Knack and Missing Persons over ELO any day!
São um blefe estético, estas garotas são apenas desvios estéticos.Não falam com propriedade,não entendem absolutamente nada sobre o post-punk/punk rock real...
id say punk was invented by the ramones in the USA but it got big when it hit the UK and the UK was in money trouble and the government was shit... then the Pistols boosted it up the ranks for us
i don't know why these backstage cocksuckers feel they own the whole map of the punk rock universe, people like this get in on it for all the wrong reasons, what they say is crap anyway, the only people that can talk shit are the people that started the whole thing, everyone else is sloppy seconds.
Yeah, Pleasant and Iris DON'T own the whole map of the punk rock universe. Because the map is ripped in half. There's the half these girls are talking about... real punk rock and influx of moronic jock idiots with new haircuts fucking up the scene these girls helped start. And then there's your half: punk rock of today, a bunch of ignorant fuck 17-30yr olds wearing punk costumes and arguing about what punk is on the net. Go die.
@crankenstyne yea my half. cus you know i got the punk costume arguing about what punk is and what punk isnt, i just clearly stated that anyone that started the whole thing gets to have the opinion thats why they dont interview you. just cus you picked up a rancid record back in 93 doesnt mean you get the say of anything. besides did i say "oh this is punk this isnt" when was this? stop contradicting yourself.
I believe this is a scene of the social transition from punk to new wave. New wave existed only because punk allowed it to. These chicks weren't punk. Listen to the ego in their california voice. Punk was a sadistic and revolting lifestyle that only a few could live. I hate to break the news to these posers, but they weren't living the "punk" lifestyle. They were living the "new wave" lifestyle that punk initiated. Sorry girls.
Punk is anything you want it to be, fashion or not. It's about doing what you want and not giving a shit about what anyone thinks. Stop being "punk police" elitist assholes and go listen to your new Black Flag represses.
Oh god, hipsters talking about how exclusive it USED to be and how they were there at the begining. "Remember when" is the least form of conversation, I'm not saying the times weren't great, but come on. It gets so fucking old. Wah wah wah.
This is Iris Berry and Pleasant Gehman, you guys......they were originals on the scene before any of you clowns were zygotes, so I really wouldn't knock 'em. BTW, there were very few shops that sold punk gear back then...most of the ones that did were one of a kind places with one of a kind designs. @ghoststang4point0 I agree with you 100%.The hardcore scene or American harcore was the only true scene that died underground without the mainstream knowing of it.
There have always been those who insist on being their true selves regardless of what other people think, and then there are those who try to be like everyone else regardless of who they really are. Every good thing turns into a scene of posers and imitators sooner or later. It happened to the beats, and then to the hippies and then to the punks and then to the goths and yada yada yada. Sorry but I have to disagree I do not believe these girls are from the Punk Scene they're more from the the 80's commercial scene what is call the NEW WAVE SCENE. they are definitely not Harecore Punk that's for sure. Fakers
Actually everyone the woman on the right is none other than Pleasant Gehman. She WAS!!! part of the first generation of punk in 1977. She WAS part of the original Hollywood 50!! And she is one of coolest people in the world..
punk is a music genre and a way of life, NOT A STYLE!!!! it pisses me off when i see ppl who have like ripped jeans and their all like "Im punk." NO!!! ARG!!!!
yeah ...punk is a genre of music not a style. and ANYONE who thinks that just because you dress like you picked your clothes out of a dumpster and have goofy hair that means you're more punk than the people who just listen to the music is a snob. sorry if i offended anyone but that just means you're one of those people
ey thats kinda like wat i am now...i'm a bayarouckas and everyone is always like wtf is he suppose to be when they look at me...im not punk...im a bayarouckas
bondage pants?? she isn't punk, she's just a dyke! anyways, we used to slam dance & drink til we puke & go into places & break stuff. I saw so many punk bands in the 80's, it will never be the same!
actually this clip came from a punkumentary called PUNKS AND POSEURS and had bands like GBH - PLAIN WRAP - THE DICKIES and RAW POWER in it from one gig at the OLYMPIC AUDITORIUM
they worked at a really over priced trend punk shop on melrose called poseurs. they were fashion punks the kind you never saw at a gig and yeah everyone said they were lovers. LOL
Your the fucking idiot who should think before they type. When i said money back into the scene i meant using it for equipment/ venues/ zines/ cds / vinlys / ect. No matter how punk you think you are NOTHING IS FREE.
sorry buddy, but people start businesses to generate money into there pockets and nothing else...who are these buiseness saints you speak of that are donating profits back into some sort of sceene...theyre just there to rape, commercialise and make money off something that is fashionable. now go chase a truck or whatever your native animal is i dont think youve got any really probably killed them all and replaced them with buildings so yes i will chase that kangaroo now actually dickhead.
Yeah so ? people gotta make a living 2. What better way 2 make money and contribute to the scene at the same time ? Alot of local L.A bands sell there records at stores like poseurs. DIPSHIT.
What a load of shit, I think it makes American punks seem like fucking idiots.

yeah ...punk is a genre of music not a style. and ANYONE who thinks that just because you dress like you picked your clothes out of a dumpster and have goofy hair that means you're more punk than the people who just listen to the music is a snob. sorry if i offended anyone but that just means you're one of those people

lolocaust77 3 years ago
Yeah so ? people gotta make a living 2. What better way 2 make money and contribute to the scene at the same time ? Alot of local L.A bands sell there records at stores like poseurs. DIPSHIT.
