Jinnah had laid the foundation of separation of East Pakistan during his first visit to Dhaka in 1947/48. He declared that the official language of both Pakistan will be Urdu. Bengali population comprised 56% of Pakistan's population. They did not like Jinnah's authoritarian direction. Bengali is very old language. In west Pakistan also the locals had their own language namely Punjabi, Sindhi, Pusto. I am not sure of language spoken in Balochistan. Urdu was spoken by migrants from UP, Bihar etc.
