  • Paul is so adorably nervous <3

  • 7:19 best moment

  • ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! That last number is rockin'.

  • There's always something wrong with Paul's head: he just can't keep it still, can he? :3

  • john had planned it

  • 07:02 Paul's little sound ''My scary bit of solo singing is done, over to you John, good luck with that''

  • wow

  • oh, i love Till there was you.

  • Probably one of the best live performances in the history of performances, not just for the Beatles. They do the playing flawlessly AND just look at the synchronized bowing at the end. It's like nothing you'll EVER get now. Note: I was born in the wrong generation!

  • @TheSaddleClub3798 Note: You're not alone

  • Perhaps their best LIVE performance (because they could hear themselves).

'63 was their breakthough year, but if you study the history, you will find that they were already hardcore professionals and had already played 100's of gigs in Hamburg & England.

When US saw them in Feb '64, they were already beyond polished....and then they got even better.

  • I remember this on TV. I was nine years old and here I am 57now, and still remember these guys like it was yesterday. Great always works for ever.

  • yep, Paul isn't natural happy here...And at the RVS as well...not good...

  • Was a Beatlemaniac 28 years ago when I first watched this & still am today at twice that age. They make it seem effortless & are having the best time in the world. That's what I'll always cherish & no one can ever declaim. They were and still are in a class by themselves. God love all four of them!

  • Brilliant performance by the best band ever

  • That's what I call a live performance!

  • These pricks didn't give the Isley Bothers and Motown their props for 'twist and shout.

  • They united every generation and every conceivable era, past present and future, making music that was truly universal, music that makes stars shine for thousands of years. The younger artists like Bieber, who'se greatness is generated solely through self promotion, stroking their own sense of self-importance have a hell of a long way to go to be in the same league. they have to get that music needs to express not impress.

  • "And the rest of you, if you'll just rattle your jewellery"

lol loved it when he smiled to the camera when he said that

  • without the Beatles, the universe would have become a pretty boring place.

  • @InterZlatan8 the world would be as bland as uncooked spaghetti.

  • are these dudes aliens? no musician(s) are as good as them. they are incredible guys. who agrees? huh? gimme some thumb.

  • @MrMattnethan

They were incredibley polished especially being 20-23 years old. Notice how Paul never looks down at his Bass he knows it like the back of his hand...

  • @oldwatchman cheers mate!

  • @oldwatchman Actually, at about 6:28 he manages to sneak a look, but who cares?

  • for till there was you, george's guitar playing was awesome, and Paul's singing was amasing, the most beautiful singing voice i've ever heard from someone whos british. Paul is awesome ! :) <3

  • Absolute legends! Nobody in history will ever come close to what they achieved in the time they were all in The Beatles. Peace and Love John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison but most of all, Brian Epstein for giving the world something to come together for.

  • I hate how these songs since about 1997 are now modified with techy sounds and not even played with those real intruments anymore

  • Whoever stole Paul's Hofner bass in 1969 better give it back.

  • These guys were born to do this!!! And how all of the pieces complimented each other....

Charismatic and talented...they were my heroes as a child and dougalmac54..you are correct.. John was the leader and my life changed dramatically when he died. One of the saddest days of my life...McCKLENN THANK YOU!!!!!

  • Seems like all that rehearsing in Hamburg paid off then!! Superb live band!!

  • lovely solo from George!

  • You know one of the things I love most about these guys? Their live performances are so joyful. They always look so delighted to be up there doing their thing that you can't help but feel happy watching them. Very different from many bands today who are all emo and angst-ridden and 'the sky is falling'.... Give me a Beatles performance any day!

  • Dang that sounded like one of there best performences. But really? 4 songs! That's it!

  • Fuck you kate

  • the Queen Mum was renowned for having a wicked sense of humour and no doubt took it in good spirit, i can remember an interview with William and Harry saying she would have them laughing loud doing Ali G impressions!

  • Listen to the laugh John gets when he says, "...and the rest of you, if you'll just rattle your jewelry!" And then the reaction by the Queen Mum when the audience REALLY laughs louder at John's very cheeky remark. Classic Lennon. Paul is still alive and is an icon. But John Lennon was the leader of The Beatles, no doubt. I miss him terribly.

  • Notice the way John is looking at Paul during his jewelry comment. It's like he's saying "See, I didn't drop the F bomb"

  • i think Paul is the best singer anh the cutest guy in group...:D

  • WOW!

We can hear them, live, :O

  • @TheBlueSchool Pardon me, the Queen Mum.

  • is john playing a banjo???

  • @MooseChoob oh no that was just the camera angle :P

  • @MooseChoob No, a Rickenbacker 325 which he bought in Hamburg, and which became his most used guitar until he and George both got Epiphone Casinos.

  • Gosh doesn't ALL the audience look incredibly posh (and no one looking younger than 30!). Enthusiastic clapping tho' and very professional performance. Can't get over the bowing ~ even Lennon!. The Beatles were popular with everyone, which is incredible because they were unknowns a year previously, (the first album only being in March '63). Yes John ~ I think you've passed the audition! Don't think Ringo's drumming position would pass 'elf and safety today

  • Whenever I need a "pick me up" I listen and watch this video. First, it's captures the moments prior to them Conquering America. It's in front of the Queen. No screaming. They selected three songs very different from each other. Paul and George pure perfection on "till there was you," John's humor and the out of his mind performance with "Twist and Shout" and to top it off the complete respect they had for the audience. God, I miss the Beatles....they set the bar...VERY HIGH.

  • @Amazingsound And Ringo....you were the glue that held them together. Not possible without you!

  • Wow i can actually HERE them

  • @aBeatlesfangirl hear ;-)

  • @RoadienicknamedRor oops...

  • @aBeatlesfangirl *hear

  • seamless performance. you could see john was bricking it before he cracked his rich/poor joke - 'oh fuck, they better find this funny...'

  • I kinda like the new song She Loves You. And George's exquisite guitar solo in Till There Was You. And John's subversive joke...

    This is a total delight!

  • my best part is the twist and shout

  • Thanks for posting! This is the first time I've seen all 4 songs done at this performance.Even in the vidro set "The Beatles Anthology" they only show 3 songs. I love the sly look on John's face before his GREAT line about rattling their jewlery!!!

  • They are spectacular. I love when they bow. :3

  • For all who saw them live we were blessed.......rock on

  • paul is amazing.

  • Thank you for postiing this, and THANKS, BOYS! XXXDDD

  • It looks like Paul is enjoying every second ot it!!

  • Comment removed

  • 7'20" is John Lennon at his best. This is glorious. Happy Birthday, John.

  • WHAT A BAND...

  • great clip,thanxs 4 sharing

  • pauls trademark head shake, it probably just happens sub-conciously. its awesome.

  • man, what a tight group they were.

  • The other songs get overshadowed by Johns famous joke, but they're all great!

  • what's the song playing as they bow?

  • @Guyzo997 Sounds like a jazzed up version of Twist and Shout.

  • It's nice to hear them sing live without all the girls screaming. They sound very nice.

  • legendry,nuff said

  • Paul were so nervous because John told Paul that he was going to say "Rattle your FUCKING jewellery" which he didn't

  • There's something about George. He dosn't look quite the same.

  • @AmyGrace1234 ?? Yes he does

  • @viceisthename I don't know. He looks really thin. Poor Georgie.

  • @AmyGrace1234 Well, they were slimmer in the beginning when they came from Hamburg.

  • ringo's head bop is too cool!

  • Ringo Jump! Try to resist its cuteness!

  • This is not a knock against the Beatles or anything but it's amazing how much of an improvement they sound live when the crowd isn't going batshit crazy.

  • @daigoji83 Which is a good point because it just proves what fabulous performers The Beatles really were. And all of this with primitive PA systems and NO monitors. Truly amazing!

  • @daigoji83 in an interveiw ringo said he would just play offbeat bcuz he couldnt hear himsef play

  • This is absoloutely fantastic and outstanding!! Gives ne goose bumps everytime!!! Thank you for posting this classic set!

  • INCREDIBLE!!!!! THE BEATLES : ]

  • i have ALWAYS loved ringo's drumming on she loves you and also, john's voice on the word "shout" in twist and shout makes my heart thud a bit faster :)

  • I bet in 3000 years there will be Beatles fans..and Beatles tribute bands.

  • @catgumart No estaré aquí para responderte

  • Thank you very much.

  • Thank you very much.

  • This was 46 years ago today
