@Josiahjjr Thank you! I am very happy with it. There is something magical about Semi hallow body guitars, even though its an Epiphone, the pickups have really changed it to sound great.
@lanceribsmith Hey. I have a question about the Samson Q2U mic that you used. Did you set up the mic by the amp and record as you played through the amp? I want to get the Samson Q2U package and was wondering how it works for recording guitar.
@ColossalCow I position it about 2 inches away from the front of the cabinet, to the right of the center cone. It works pretty well for recording with an amp. You have to have it really close to soundhole on an acoustic guitar to really pick it up. I think for some basic rough track recording it is just fine. If you really want to get into recording, save up for some quality mic's and software.
I have a 2000 model transparent green (very, very rare) of the Epi DOT Deluxe with gold hardware that has mostly faded, thankfully. Anyway, I put a 57' classic Gibson pup in the neck and I just purchased a Burstbucker #1 for the bridge or neck, (I might switch them). This is a fine, fine animal of a guitar that I have enjoyed lots. About to change out the harness wiring, too. I've been offered over $900 for this guitar due to the color and the upgrades... Incredible ax out of my 14 or so
@theeggsmusic Thanks! I did not upgrade anything on it other than the pickups. Everything else in it to me seems pretty good. I may change out the toggle switch eventually because it seems to make some crackling noise when I use it. I'm not sure if that is just how it is or if changing it could fix it though. Something I will look into sometime in the future. Thanks for watching my video!
@lanceribsmith hey man, cool jam. sounds very smooth. i own a dot and am upgrading the pickups soon, probably to gibson 57 classics. I am thinking about putting a burstbucker in the bridge for a little bit brighter lead tone and a more crisp overdrive, but there's a few different kinds and i'm not sure which to go with if i did. i heard this and thought this is a very good mix, i'm just curious: which burstbucker do you have in the neck? this one sounds very good with the 57 classic.
@ayoshiegg to be honest I'm not sure. I had purchased the pickups on Ebay, and had got a good deal on it. I think really any good Gibson Burstbucker and a Gibson 57' classic together will make some good tones.
@Pollandtheawesome the finish on it would not change the tone. The type of wood that is used making the body would though, as well as the wood in the neck. I do not known specifically if there is a huge difference in the quality of wood used in the Epiphone version verses the Gibson. I have played both, for the money and some fine tuning, the Epiphone sounds great.
No such thing at 18 ohm speaker cab... Must of meant 16 ohm...
