  • Holy Hell That Was A Slide

  • @Antiks72, how did you know I was a dirty slut, you deviant peeping-tom?

  • @slav73ify the internet.

  • What's all this bitching and debating? Fuck, I must've been on about a dozen clips of Joe Bonamassa so I could watch and listen to what he's doing and then there's all these stupid squabbles, put-downs and ridiculous comparisons. Grow the fuck up, watch, listen, shut up and play yer guitar!

  • @slav73ify Nobody asked you, you dirty slut.

  • @Antiks72 Where? I want one.

  • is there a chance he tuned the guitar to an alternate tuning in the slide part? or is he just too awseome?

  • @allornada I think so. Even the guitars seem different. The last one is surely in some open tuning (G or D I guess).

  • this is Gibsons NEW Golden boy,i dont hear anything really new here boys and girls, when something NEW is offered or intruduced in popular culture and music in general it is ALWAYS WITH TIME,he can play all the hip blues lines in the world, but what is he doing too the time??,the answer is NOTHING..hes not a bad player i will give you that but hell hang around the Berklee School in Boston or Wiliiam Paterson Univ in NJ you have 19 year olds playing the changes and can eat this guy alive

  • @TheXXXDB I didn't realize it was a contest. Fast finger really don't impress me anymore for the record, but he's still a great player.

  • @Antiks72 i agree with you..who said anything about speed...i think he a good player...nobody said he sucks....he just NOT the end all too be all like everyone is makeing him out too be...i respect your angle respect mine...thanks...

  • @TheXXXDB I agree with you in that respect. His work doesn't grab me like SRV's or Albert King's does.

  • @Antiks72 thank you brother i thought i was the only one....repects too you!!!!

  • @fragman08 Was I talking to you Nigger? No! So shut the fuck up and mind your own business? And the blues wasn't created by niggers dumbass, it was created by southern Black Musicians! There's a difference Nigger!

  • Boanamassa tiene toda la técnica que no tiene Slash y Slash tiene toda la imagen que no tiene Bonamassa

  • love the flame top

  • this guys tone reminds me of the time my duck got electrocuted. Blissfull.

  • thank god markantag knows where its at without blues nothing today would be possible i love playing sweet blues with my amazing telecaster rock on joe bonamassa i love you very talented hope i become as good as him one day

  • try this watch?v=k3DWVy7G8BM

  • That slide section is awesome

  • He looks like the kind of guy who, after playing you a few awesome blues licks, could get all the malware off your computer and then set up a bitchin' firewall and local area network for you.

  • @johnnytastetest hahahaha

  • @johnnytastetest aahah that made me laugh so hard :D

  • @johnnytastetest I practically pissed in my pants after reading that. Funny man. Thanks.

  • @vexamatic - Ha ha. Thanks, vexamatic. I just left that random comment like, a week ago, and now it's got all these thumbs-up ratings and people are messaging me and stuff. Kinda fun. You just might like the videos I make on my channel, too. There's some guitar in the clips, but you may have to search it out...it's not the prominent part, necessarily.

  • @johnnytastetest LOLOL

  • @johnnytastetest haha this made me laugh! joe just seems like an all around good guy. very humble and of course a great raw talent. definitely my hero in the current guitar world :)

  • Ok

  • why so fast? Still cool

  • Fucking Brilliant! Fucking Great Licks! Fucking Great Tone! Fucking Great Slide! Fucking Great!!!!! Not so sure about the hair cut! I guess It'll grow! Rock on Dude! You've got it!!!!

  • does anyone have the tab for this?

  • love the slide part

  • i fucking love blues solos. mark morton has a little bit of blues soloing on his solos and sounds fuckin amazing

  • is that in standard tuning the slide part??

  • as in this was the inly video u noticed on youtube of joe

  • who else dound this was the only video on youtube then allll of a sudden JOE IS EVERYWHERE! and now your happppy he rightfully is

  • @shredmaster100 I'm sorry to here that everyone in England is wasted on drugs and worshipping some nigger rapper on MTV, that's terrible! And you don't have come to the US to teach Joe a lesson, he goes to England quite alot!

  • @pomposo11 "nigger"? You are aware the blues were created by "niggers" right? Get the fuck out.

  • è bravissimo.. ma c'ha sta faccia da cazzone molle americano figlio di papa' uscito dall'universita' prestigiosa con la puzza sotto il naso che è incredibile.

  • FUCK BLUES HATERS..... if there weren't blues , there wouldnt be heavy metal

  • @makantang if there weren't blues, we would of missed to whole rock era

  • @makantang there are blues haters?

  • @makantang If Heavy Metal didn't exist, I for one would not miss it even slightly—total load of crap...

  • @kewlfonz If Hitler or communism didn't exist neither would the ideas of starving you and torturing you to death for saying that.

  • @makantang I like blues music, especially bonnamassa, but I definitely like other music more. I mean it's not bad but the goal of making music is to make the best music possible. That doesn't mean simple or complex but with more complex music there is so much more potential to be even better. Your argument is like saying "FUCK PEOPLE WHO DRIVE CARS... If we didn't have horses and buggy's first, then nobody would have invented automobile." Just because it came first doesn't make it better.

  • @makantang Maybe I've been lucky, but I haven't seen or heard a single blues hater since... well, since I can remember, basically.

  • @makantang There wouldn't be rock period.

  • @makantang If there weren't blues there would basically only be classical music.

  • @makantang indeed, Black Sabbath's first album has some of the best blues guitar you'll ever hear on it.

  • jimmy page like :S

  • Young man you have an attitude...........

    like Jimmy Page !

  • gatdamn, thats some terrible tone

  • @daaaaavie wut? sounded good to me ..

  • Nice ax.

  • whats the tuning for that slide licks?

  • hahaah his head looks like half a gallon of milk !!! joe's cool as hell i love this. let's see how much i can steal

  • i can listen to this all day,but i get bored within 2 minutes of vai and malsteen

  • IF I EVER WIN THE LOTTERY!!! i will spend it all on this guy becoming my guitar teacher!

  • coolll

  • seen him live... GREAT

  • which is that amp?

  • Is that blues ??

  • love the slide part

  • @shredmaster100

What is the punishment for being an ignorant, arrogant, opinionated asshole. That's right you become an arrogant, ignorant, opinionated, asshole and you spend your life like that. No one can help you because your too ignorant too even recognize if someone tries. I noticed you have posted no video's of your own playing with a band. So what's up with that? Are you full of shit or do you just play the part on you tube?

  • you white boys ripping off the blacks music again have you ever heard the real best blues players they arent guys like joe or clapton they are guys like robert johnson son house muddy waters buddy guy bb king howlin wolf albert king ray charles and so many more the only white man whos got close to their gratness is SRV so live with it joes a poser hes just ripping off licks that a black man from 80 years ago was playing whites should stick to pop music thats what youre good at m8

  • @shredmaster100 i don't think * you white boys ripping off the blacks music * is accurite or fair . one of the very people you mention, buddy guy , is tutoring a young *white kid * quinn sullivan , the blues is about feeling and expression , not the color of your skin .

  • in my opinion joe is a good guitar player but he copies a lot of his licks from eric clapton who learnt a lot from bb king and as i said the only 2 players in my opinion who were as good as the original bluesmen are stevie ray vaughan and rory gallagher i havent seen anyone as great as them 2 since they died

  • @shredmaster100 jeff beck, john schofield, lary carlton, robben ford, gary moore et cetera et cetera are all great electric blues guitarists. Mr bonamassa has freely admitted his influences.People who can- do. People who can't- criticize.

  • @1empathy hey thats a good one! I agree but you left out eric johnson, eric clapton (Old eric when he played with John Mayall in the bluesbreakers ie the beano album! Talk about ahead of his time because eric's were the 1st at 19 yrs old, the 1st to add a lot of style, notes and pure soul to what had already been recorded in the 50's ie Buddy Guy, Furry Lewis etc!!! I'm an accomplished blues guitarist for over 30 years now and eric's riffs on that album, as well as"Crossroads" live! Peace

  • @1empathy ran outta room anyway those solos are still tough to play unless you keep up w/ them! Gary Moore's loss about killed me..and so young! Talk about takin blues riffs to another level! And I loved his minor key ballads! In my books Moore is what i call "a guitarist's guitarist!" Same w/ eric johnson as far as sheer technique but ya gotta see E.J. live (ive seen him in austin like 20 times) and live hes the best ive ever seen and ive seen em all! Steve Morse n J. Beck are good too! live!

  • @shredmaster100 and why dont you stick to what youre good at and pick some more cotton you fuckin nigger.

  • @shredmaster100 bonamassa is a poser?? seriously?? ok then ask 95% of all guitarist in world to play guitar like Joe and i guarantee you they can't!!! Joe has massive skills combined with phenom. musical sense, ear and soul! havent seen to many as good as him i tell ya! gary moore and a few others maybe...but a poser???please...

  • hes a fraud m8 check out any pub in london and u will see great blues players this man is a privaliged wanker his mummy and daddy had loads of money to get him musically eduacated ive seen the proof him getting lessons from bb king at 8 years old where as people like me and millions of others have to work packing boxes in a warehouse in the uk full of polish migrants there is no fairness i bet u if i was given the chance i could play like srv compared to joe hes a clapton clone

  • @shredmaster100 Where did these black people get their instruments (tuned to the western diatonic scale)?, from white people! all the techniques and scales where from western (especially white european folk) music. What the african slaves brought was a small addition the the melting pot of all cultures' music in the usa. They produced some great musicians because racism excluded them from most jobs and music was a way out, just like sport and entertainment still is for american blacks today.

  • without players like robert johnson or son house modern blues would be very different and in my opinion the greatest blues player i can think of was stevie ray vaughan and i couldnt believe what happened to him at montreux in 82 he got booed by the audience how could they boo the greatest player ever reason was he had no reputation this is the reason why so many great players never get a chance imagine if srv had of just given up because of that the world would not have heard hisgenius

  • @shredmaster100 The music belongs to those who feel it and, play it. That means it belongs to everyone who plays it. Once it came out of the mind of the black originators, it belonged to others too.

  • well yeah music should belong to everyone and ive just been arguing with some fool on another page he says blues is boring i was like wtf u talking about then he went on to say players like yngwie malmsteen are better than srv clapton or hendrix so i wasnt having that i told that punk straight that without these guys modern shredders couldnt do what they do today

  • @scottduncan44 Or even an air guitar guy probably! Oh sorry man...I meant that guitar toy that popular, only for frustrated guitarists w/ no sense of time or sense of pitch, always outta tune and your right! the more arrogant and ignorant you are as a closet guitarist it usually means that theres very little natural talent there whatsoever! i rest my guitar case!

  • I'm not a guitar player, but i realize joe is gonna be famous like jimmy hendrix in the future

  • This is really good playing that comes from a very well-studied musician. His base of blues knowledge is deep, and encompasses English and Down South styles.

To all the ignorant posters that pick apart one minute of playing that they could never do, Joe is a professional musician. He gets paid to play, and thousands of people pay to see and hear him play.

Always with the comparisons. Always with the off-color comments. This man is a master of the blues. I am so grateful that I got to see and

  • is'nt he just SPECTACULAR...saw him live 3 times if YOU haven't DO cause he is AAAAMMMMAZZZING....

  • @d22587 does he suck in comparison to your skills? or bonamassas?

  • Dude...Are you 'fraid that the strings might pop?? Why the Hell are you leaning away from your guitar??

  • goddamn ben franklin can play!

  • Amazing :-)

  • Claptonesque c.1966-8 beautifully rendered.

Any info on what he might be playing through?

I really like that type of tone. Thanks.

  • I think I got an orgasm when he started to play those licks with the finger slider.

  • What a tone.... ! :O

  • oh man.. 0:20 ... that fast playing is a show off .. i don't like it .. can't feel the real blues, man.. you know.. I'm talking about B.B. King style!

  • There is no point arguing about who is the best. I love Joe, I love Vai. There are so many great players. It doesn't matter how fast someone is its how they make u feel and the emotion and good phrasing...David Gilmour is one of my favourites. Why argue? Enjoy all the great players out there..just shut the fuck and play your guitar.

  • Can anyone tell me if this guitar is a 1959 VOS or a 1958 VOS?

  • @sebah1991 It's a 1959, but not your run of the mill VOS. Gibson makes custom guitars for people like Joe B.

  • f... awsome blues

  • Vai doesn't suck, Malmsteen doesn't suck, and Mr. Bonamassa doesn't either. These three musicians are geniuses in their own individual ways. Just because you don't appreciate the way that one of them plays doesn't mean that they suck... I mean come on people lets see you go and learn one of these guitarists songs and see how well you play it... When you can play their song better than they can, then you can say that they suck but I really don't think anybody here can even come close so shutup.

  • @TheRichardson96 Thank You!!!!!! I have the same idea in mind too!!! Vai is one of my favorite guitar player!!!!!!!!!!! soo yea!!!

  • @TheRichardson96 There is something called taste. Some people have it, others don´t. There are those that squeeze an emotion out of one note and others that hammer you over the head with a thousand notes. Flash versus Feeling. One concept is appropriate for 12 year olds before and during puberty. The other is for grown ups. In short one approach SUCKS, the other doesn´t.

  • @TheRichardson96 i agree with you....comparing those 3 guitar players proves the person doing the comparison knows jack and shit about guitar... and jack has left town btw ;)

  • @TheRichardson96 Malmsteen sucks, thats for sure, he's the only guy playing OVER his band not WITH them. And he is an arrogant prick! :D My Opinion.

  • @TheRichardson96 Its impossible to play their songs better than they do. No one will ever be able to capture the same emotions that they are pouring into those songs since they would not have written the songs. From one fan to another good comment good to see someone else that understands these legends are all amazing in their own right. Can't compare Satriani to BB king or Vai to Buddy Guy.

  • Awesome!

  • NICE!!!!!

  • god damn blues purists in the comment section

  • @iamismeallright I know, this might as well be a Metal video.

  • hang on i'm in love with the blues but vai and malmsteen are both guitar gods.

  • @MasterGodfather97 No they aren't, Dimebag was a "god" to a lot of people and look what happened. Gods are immortal.

  • @d22587 and the LORD sent down his good son Jesus to teach us to teach us to be good but he was killed by the mortals. 2000 years later he sent down his rebel son Dime to teach us in the ways of ROCK but he was killed by the mortals. T

  • @d22587 dimebag is a god

    and youre just an asshole

  • @d22587 dimebag is immortal bro, through his music he lives on

  • @d22587 You're wrong. They are Music gods, they may rot six feer under, but their Music will last forever. Just hear around: Johnson, Jimi, Stevie Ray, Dimebag. They're all dead living thanks to the Music, that's fuckin' immortality!

  • @d22587 wtf...... malmsteen and vai are gods. dimebag is a god, in heaven, were gods usually are, vai and malmsteen are just exeptions.

  • @d22587 nah. gods just live on for a long time even after they are dead.

  • Comment removed

  • @d22587 thumbs up to that

  • @d22587 vai is amazing at everything. yngwie has amazing technique but is a total wanker and i cant stand him.

  • @d22587 faggot. i'd like to see you play better than both of them.

  • @MrDavidh1111 Oh yeah Vai is the worst! They should call him Steve Viagra: the phony hard on.

  • @MrDavidh1111 so I take it you can play better than him then?

  • @MrDavidh1111 You are a fucking moron, please go somewhere..and just die

  • Bullshit. This is not blues.

  • @TheYO0o No? What is it? Polka?

  • @yutubito hehe..its Polka on steroids...dont worry mate..you try to reason with noobs here. You know how many think that if you play some lines faster or use more distortion than the...greats its not blues?Thats how ingorant they are....kids that strum a few power chords in their lifes and learned a few licks...have an opinion about guitar playing...What can you do...some people will always look at the surface and not what lies underneath. Its usually those that cant play either...

  • as far as being origional, i look at it this way...music has been played for centuries, and that being said...there is just so many combos you can play with the notes from A flat to G sharp...before it has to repeat somehow...I love his playing because I like what it sounds like, not if it was done before partially or totally...to play the guitar like he does you need talent, otherwise it would sound like me tryin to play...cuz i suck at it..hahahaa

  • Oh, its ever so amusing reading comments by many people who have probably never picked up a guitar. You amuse me.

  • Dust Bowl is an awesome track.

  • I don't know how many times I've seen this shit. I would rather watch and listen to this than see and hear just about any body out there today. I don' t like his singing and songwriting. I LOVE his playing. Glen

  • ¡COÑO!

  • His blues sounds a lot like van halen.

  • i hadn't heard of him til lthe "cult of jazz III" video. where the hell have i been? this man is amazing at guitar!

  • i prefer derek!! joe is too noisy

  • Comment removed

  • @NickMass35 Well for one you don't know how to spell Derek Trucks so I'm guessing you haven't heard enough of his music to know that Derek would make a fool out of Joe's pentatonic "genious" and also you clearly know his last name

  • derrick trucks who

  • TAAAAAAAAAAAABSSSS pelo amor de Deus!!!!!!!!!!!! Eu quero pegar esses padrões!

  • bluez progression Joe

  • What a sound..

  • why is it when someone plays a mean slide guitar, i start to tear up?

  • he reminds me of the really ugly girl at school lol

  • @SplitSpades11

    andy from little britain

  • @DeinVorbild95 hahaha yes he fucking does! Yea I know!

  • I *guarantee* you that anyone on this thread that has anything critical to say about this guy can't touch one of the hairs on his ass as a player.

  • ONE MORE TIME....... BUT WITH FEELIN!

  • Master!

  • even more funny with no sound.

  • lol his face @ 0:23

  • Same old blues again - Christ almighty - how many times do I have to hear these same recycled riffs over and over again! Please, please think up some original licks!

  • @masala505 you make some original licks.

  • @jstrange18 No, no, no.....he needs to do the work...he's the one going on stage and playing the guitar. If he wants to pay the same old blues again then I'll say the same old comments again!

  • @masala505 i understand what your saying...but he does make his own licks....listen to his style and other people....some licks yes he may play old ones but he always changes them up atleast a little! He's an awesome guitarist

  • @jstrange18 Not much is original. These licks are ALL cliches that ahve been done before over and over. Listen to Holdsworth if you want original. Listen to John Cage if you want original.

  • @masala505

thats the stupidest comment ive ever seen on here...literally

  • @infinityjet As opposed to not literally?? All I'm saying is he's like a photocopier - he simply draws from a repertoire of blues riffs that have been played and written over 30 years ago. Put him on the radio soloing and no one could guess who it was....put someone like David Gilmore on the radio and you can guess whose playing. That's all I'm saying - you'^ve got to write new riffs to keep things fresh..

  • @masala505

joe has his own signature sound...its not just licks that make someone's sound y'know...its their intonation (vibrato, string bends, dynamics etc.)

  • @masala505 Yes, the same happens with shredders, but this guy is really good on what he does.

  • Comment removed

  • this has to be seen by more people

  • DO I detect a little Hound Dog in that slide? Good job man!

  • His thumb is huge

  • Oh, Miss Bonamassa

  • Joe BOSSnamasa

  • That's super awesome work on that slide ! I never really like a slide till I hear someone who can actual play it lol

  • how do you GET THAT TONE?!?!?!?

  • @chikenmanwithchiken get youself a fuzz face :)
