Let's be clear here. For almost 50 years, people have been making the mistake that THE FAMOUS FLAMES was the name of JAMES BROWN'S BAND. !!! WRONG!!! The FAMOUS FLAMES are a SINGING GROUP...NOT A "BAND". James Brown's BAND was called just that...THE JAMES BROWN BAND. THE FAMOUS FLAMES, BOBBY BYRD, BOBBY BENNETT, and LLOYD STALLWORTH are right next to JAMES at 0:05. People like MACEO PARKER, FRED WESLEY,JABO STARKS, and ST.CLAIR PINCKNEY are BAND MEMBERS...NOT FAMOUS FLAMES.
man you are super dynamite for posting this priceless material. any chance you have more! i never get tired of watching his early live videos! see if his live peformance of dont be a dropout is available. that would be the funk bomb!
thanks again for this show of james brown in Paris 1966 is there anymore live show done by him in the early 1965/1966/1967/1968 in paris this is when his band was tighter than tight and together show of show most of all an entertainer unlike no other
I must be slipping? Hell no! Somebody must have hacked into my account, re-edited this video and removed the "Out Of Sight" performance. There is no other explanation!
This shows that Mr. Brown wasn't afraid to pay homage to other artists by performing their big songs, as evidenced by his pereforming Jr. Walker's 'Shotgun'.
fast. nice!
