  • YES!

  • The horns! The 3-tiered keyboard stand! The folding chair instead of a drum throne! These guys really took things to another level.I remember I had to leave a concert because my mom thought the sound of their music was too secular! They were definitely creative and they wrote great music...

  • Thanks Bro! I know ALL of their music, grew up on it! They were so anointed and such a blessing. Had a privilege to see them in concert several times and meet them. No one out right now like these guys!

  • Mitchell is a beast!...

  • Wow - rare indeed - where did you get this? These guys were going off! Commissioned at their finest - Fred can really play that bass so effortlessly, and everyone is so young! Haha. I never get tired of hearing Commissioned - what a gift they were to Christian music! No one did it like them! Mitchell Jones, Fred Hammond, Keith Staten - all became amazing solo performers, but together they were absolutely amazing to this day.

  • Yes these guys are WAYYYYY head of their time. This is one of my favs too! They sound great!

  • I'm speechless!!! And why am in tears!!!! MY GOD!! I really miss the original members. I was a pre-teen/teenage in the late 80's and I felt like I was in loved with Mitchell Jones. He was my favorite singer.

  • I'm a fan!!!! Thanks man1et.

  • I like when Fred puts down the bass and starts singing 7:41 ....man commissioned was remarkable! A truly talented, anointed group

  • Wow the drummer is sitting on a folding chair...lol... look @ tiny Fred.

  • Awesome!!

  • Hey fellow commissioned fans. i'm from barbados. i was introduced to commissioned in 1986 by a friend who had been in boston recently. he gave me a cassette tape with the winans brothers on one side and a group he didnt know on the other side. didnt take me long to realise that the unknown group was as tight as or better that the winans. i and thousands of 'bajans' have become fans since and our highlight was their visit to barbados in 1988 or 89. true ministers of the gospel. ALEX

  • OMG!!! Is that my brother Troy from DelaRoy...I mean Delaware? Anyway, I remember those hi-top fades, harmonies, chords, licks and songs from back-in-the-day. Commissioned was indeed ahead of their time. They will never get the recognition for influencing R&B artists, and for setting the bechmark for how to properly minister with an up-to-date sound. They were cool, they were role-models, they were the best at what they did. Btw, Troy; Michael burned you on the gee-tar. : )

  • I can't thank ya enough for posting this...reminds me of the concerts they did at Brooklyn's Wingate Field.....they are truly "Commissioned"!

  • The best Commissioned concert was in January 1990 at Brooklyn College. That place was bumping and jumping. We didn't get out til' after midnight and a curtain call. Fred said "this is the way saints party!"

  • Thanks for posting this! I grew up on Commissioned so I love this!!!!

  • Oh yeah! This is a MUST SEE, Classic Clip from the coolest crooning company in contemporary gospel...COMMISSIONED! Oh yeah!

  • Thank you very much for this post!! I was 13 when I was first introduced to Jesus Christ, and listening to the album "ordinary just won't do" was influential in my decision to accept the Lord that early!! Brothers and sisters continue to pray for our younger generations because substance is truly lacking in this age. Thank you Father for love and grace!

  • this brings back memories for sure! Wow look at Fred

  • I had the pleasure of going to a church concert featuring commissioned!! OMG, they were AWESOME! I miss them!!

  • he look like play from kidd and play lol

  • COMMISSIONED!!!!!!

  • Yo Mike E is killin that Guitar!!!

  • Thank you so much for this clip! Commissioned is my group from day! They don't make 'em like this any more!

  • reynkk....SHO U RIGHT!!!!

  • This is Commissioned at its best! i remeber these concerts-relevant, anointed! impacting, fresh! and powerful! boy are they missed-i feel sorry for the young christians today for they have -they missed out.

  • The opening bass line to this song was crazy when I was little. This song is whats up!!

  • This is one of the best gospel songs ever. LOVE IT!!!!

  • I can't believe how cute Fred was back then! I mean he's still kinda cute now, but back then...Makes me remember why I was such a HUGE Commissioned fan.

  • YEAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

  • Did you'll ketch the part where Fred Hammond started this SICK bass line, but then puts down his bass guitar as Michael Brooks (keyboardist expert) picks up the SAME bass SICK bass line with NO GAPS....it's ALOMST hard to tell when Fred stopped playing and Michael picked up...but if you listen carefully you'll hear the change-over--THESE BROTHA ARE "DA-TRUTH"!!

  • OH YEAH FOLKS--THIS SONG IS SIMPLY BLAZIN'!!! The VAMP is OFF-DA-CHAIN SAINTS!! THANKS FOR POSTING THE CLIPS ONCE AGAIN "MAN1ET"!!

  • LOVE IT!

  • This is tremendous. Me and Keith Floyd used to sing this stuff at his apartment in Nashville to warm up before rehearsal. I love it,,,,Always!!!! And you are right...they were ahead of their time.

  • The industry will one day honor this group sd one of the greatest aggregations to grab microphones...WAAAAAAAAAY Ahead of their time...I love the "live" concert vamps and hooks that they would do...!! What memories...I could use one more reunion....

  • @dcon2275

This is not just real Music, it is praising the Lord God, & Jesus!

  • @dcon2275 The day has come where commissioned will receive some honor. In January 2011, Commissioned, along with Shirley Caesar, will be honored with the BMI trailblazers award for contribution in Gospel music. I am very happy because this group really deserves it.

  • @dcon2275 The Clark sisters did it look up Clark sisters 2011.They show off for Christ. You know alot of those who did Christ work for Christ don't get their props, but God will honour them Himself.Even if no congrate us we have to have this mindset " Thanks be to God who giveth us the victory through Jesus Christ I must be steadfast unmovable aways abounding in the work of the Lord because my Labour is not in vain 2Cor 15:57-58

  • Man, thanks a million. Simply amazing.
