  • JUST AWESOME..THANK YOU SO MUCH

  • Love it, love it, LOVE IT!!!!!! Thank you!

  • Sadly his voice is gone here. Bonnie Rait and Norah Jones do the best version

  • @kenedal1 I like very much the version of Norah and Bonnie I tried to make a cove of their version (watch it in my channel if you'd like to comment) but actually their feeling for music is unreachable

  • Patsy Cline ~ Tennessee Waltz

  • Look at me, Leonard. Look at me one last time!

  • Cohen sounds good doing country and does a little word revision!

  • This and Patsy Cline's version are my top favourites. :)

  • This Country girl loves Leonard Cohen .is there a song or poem that this Man cannot do?

  • @1940grace Doubtful, Grace. He's outstanding to me.

  • Beautiful song, beautiful version.

  • There's only one Leonard Cohen! God bless him.

  • He was sent to us as the strangest of angels, Thank God.

  • i love this song because my father love to sing this song when he is still alive..

  • enjoying your time off the road?xx to you old friend

    sheila

  • This man is remarkable, The more I hear, the more I love!!

  • It is indeed a beautiful version, and being from TN, I have heard them all, perfect!

  • There can NEVER be another musician of this calibre....

  • Best version I have EVER heard

  • It was so nice meeting you Leonard,

Something I ll cherish forever, U are definitely the

    best !!

  • It was so nice meeting you Leonard,

    best !!

  • U are definitely the best Leonard, it was great meeting you... something I will cherish forever !!

  • Why does it surprise me that L.C. sounds better than all the others? He is always a master of making a song his own. A delight to listen to.

  • a poet an lyricist yes a legend yes but singer ? and as for best version of this song ever ..... WTF you been smokin , i'm sure you could count on your 12 fingers many better versions

  • this song makes me happy and sad at the same time, like a true poet should make people feel

  • Oh, Cohen!

  • i like his version the best; elvis is goofing regretably...

  • I don't really like Cohen that much, but I always loved this song, and he does it really, really well.

    Thanks.

  • Perhaps my favourite non-drinking drunk....

  • I like it a lot, but on the other hand, it's a bit over-produced, like most of Lennie's stuff.

  • We love Leonard Cohen and his music. This is not LC's music and doesn't suit him. I am amazed he even sang it.

  • Beautiful..brings some nuts to it.

  • Trully a nice track. Almost as beautifull as the Sam Cooke version!

  • Oh wow....wow wow wow. This just gorgeous. I might just be swayed away from Mary and Les for this.

  • You know if they make a movie about Leonard Cohen, Adam Sandler and Dustin Hoffman would make a great Leonard Cohen. Sandler plays young LC and Hoffman as Old LC.

  • @jasondaman100 What a good eye for faces you have! I so agree with your choices. A movie about him would introduce him to a new generation.

  • @ThymeBottle I happen to be good with it....I mean Sandler would have to change his tone of voice and resonance...and if you ever hear Sandler sing a meaningful song he sounds pretty good.

  • Not bad at all, but back in 1959 the great Bobby Comstock recorded the very best version ever released of this song. Check it out, it is really rockin´.

  • He has a real feel for a country tune (among his many talents)

  • why the hell would you want to hear Elvis?

  • Because Elvis is the King! Even Leonard Cohen knows that. As does Bob Dylan & Joan Baez & Bruce Springsteen. As did

Phil Ochs, John Lennon and Michael Jackson. Leonard Berstein considered Elvis the most influential individual of the 20th century. Widen your soul.

  • i never thought elvis was cool but bob dylan sure as fuck did. so thats gotta mean something

  • Even Paul McCartney is such an Elvis fan

that he acquired Bill Black's upright bass from his widow. Bill Black was Elvis' bass player from the Sun Records days. Scotty Mooore, Elvis' original guitarist from Sun, is considered "The Guitar that Changed the World." Don't discount those guys.

We all owe them a lot. They helped open the floodgates.

  • Paul is a hack. what kinda of idiot marries without a prenup. John is God

  • Personally I believe that upright bass belongs in the Museum of Rock and Soul in Memphis. On the other hand it's good to know it's still being played. Maybe when Paul McCartney leaves this mortal plane he'll donate it.

  • @OL55CADDY you're right, compared to Elvis, everyone is just OK

  • @HomeGirl2270

    you are extremelly narrow-minded

  • the only thing I can say is LOVE YOU LOVE YOU LOVE YOU LENNY for awakening feelings in me I never dreamed about God bless you

  • The Master does it again! No one can top the great Leonard Cohen.

  • I really wasn't expecting it to sound this good. Wow, always count on Mr. Cohen to give a song a liitle more meaning even with all the amazing females who have sung it.

  • Best version of an old favorite.

  • La mejor versión masculina.

  • Unused but pleasant!

  • I just love love this - a classic with a brilliant verse added by the maestro

  • A legend in his own lifetime the favourite voice of my lifetime and a poet for all time.

    Isabelle.

  • Couldn't agree more

  • I love this song, his voice is the most incredible voice in the world!
