The weather doesn't matter cause the MLS has teams in Texas and Cali... and we aren't Sweden, Russia or Iceland. So take that out of the picture.
It's more about the ratings and attendance, and the MLS can't compete with the NFL, NBA, NCAA Football, and the baseball playoffs. Sepp seems to forget why soccer is a second tier sport in the first place.

I don't know if MLS can compete with NFL or with NCAA football. The theory makes sense but in America, the adults have the money and the children play soccer. (America has the most youth organized soccer players in the world) But none of the adults grew up playing soccer. Maybe in 10 to 15 years when all those childhood soccer players grow up there could be a fanbase. But I think for now the parents are more interested in watching their children play than the Crew, or Chivas... etc...
