Hi 9thWJBX, no Ike most definitely wrote it. It's printed right on teh label. It's another variation on The Ikettes' other hit, I'm Blue (The Gong Gong Song) which Ike wrote. Ike wrote most of the early 60's, Ike and Tina songs, He was very prolific. He even wrote what is considered the first real rock and roll record Rocket 88! Your biz spin does not apply to many artists of that era. Ike hopped all over with record labels, This was on his own label TEENA while I'm Blue was on ATCO.
@paynehenry I know what the label says but.......I got it from a reliable source that it was doubtful that Ike wrote it. How reliable is my source? Hell, I can't remember who the source was. So for now, label wins.
@paynehenry Artists were expected to put out as many as 3 albums a year thus quality suffered to some extent due to the demands of quantity. As it turns out, that's what makes these tunes so much fun today. As for who wrote it? I wouldn't bet money that Ike wrote it.

Ike has writing credits for this, I have the record. This is a VERY VERY close variation of I'm Blue (The Gong Gong Song).
