  • Thanks for the post it was GREAT

  • Hey that's Nancy Kulp as Dolly Cates from the Beverly Hillbillies.

Later, she taught acting and retired to a farm in Connecticut and, later, Palm Springs, where she died in 1991 of cancer.

  • Season 1, Episode 26: Santa's Helper

    Original Air Date—13 December 1957

Vickie tries to find a suitable outlet for Mr. Finley, Sr.'s energy, so she enlists the help of her friend Dolly to get him a job in the local department store as one of Santa's helpers. Her plan backfires when Mr. Finley - as Santa - starts to give out free toys to all the children who meet with him, with the skinflint toy department manager on the hook for the unwitting expenditure.

  • And the "Noel"-singing sad sack in the opening scene is Burt Mustin, "Gus the Fireman" on "Leave it to Beaver" at the same time (1957-58)

  • who is the woman at the store? she is another actress that actually kinda made it too,. isnt she? i swear i recognize her face and voice... any help?

  • That's Nancy Kulp who played "Jane Hathaway" on The Beverly Hillbillies.

  • It only LOOKS "live", 'Teflon'- the show was actually filmed before a live audience. Only Betty's 1958 comedy/variety show (which replaced "DATE WITH THE ANGELS") was actually telecast live, preserved on kinescope film [several of those are in collectors' hands].

  • Can't believe this isn't a kinescope. It walks like a kinescope, talks like a kinescope but it's not a kinescope. LOL

    Thanks Barry.

  • Wonderful.

  • Thank you!

  • Is this a kinescope of a live performance?

  • Considering its air date, December 13, 1957, I would think so. The live performance would have been recorded both for preservation and for distribution to affiliate stations in other parts of the country.

  • Looks like it isn't a kinescope. Read additional comments. You can believe fromthesidelines!

  • "DATE WITH THE ANGELS", sponsored by Plymouth {Tom Kennedy, announcing}, lasted just 33 episodes on ABC from May 1957 through January 1958. It was a "sequel" of sorts to her earlier series, "LIFE WITH ELIZABETH", which also dealt with the trials and tribulations of a recently married couple, their friends and neighbors. However, Betty always said she enjoyed playing opposite Del Moore on "ELIZABETH" more than Bill Williams. This episode, "The Christmas Show", WAS initially telecast on 12/13/57.

  • Only 33 episodes. What a shame. Thanks Barry.

  • Thank you so much for uploading! These are so hard to find, even on VHS, thanks for sharing with us!!! your awesome!

  • You're welcome. They do seem to be rare.

  • This is another show I've never seen. It is a great show,I like it. Thanks for the upload. Betty is ravishing, I love her in Golden Girls. Love her in any show.......

  • I'm a Betty White fan also. She seems to make everything she's in a little livelier. Thanks Rita!

  • Great, I hope to find more but for now this is the only one I have.

  • Burt Mustin is wonderful here. He was a wonderful character actor.

  • I really liked him in this show. Thanks

  • Wow Ms. White still talks like that!

  • She is great. Love that smile!
