  • he lives in portland

  • i heard that there is problems with this phone

  • @BlackRockCoffee4 The only problems I found is that people expected this to be the same level as some of the much more expensive Android phones that were available at the time.

It is an ok phone for a starter phone and it has a physical keyboard. For the price you can find this phone for may make a good deal. Otherwise if you have more money then some of the other Android phones available from Virgin Mobile might be more to your liking.

  • i have this phone and ita the best it has everything by boostmobile or virgin mobile for 30 bucks a month unlimited everything

  • @roniejohnson of course! It has google maps and plus it's Android,XD

  • does this phone have gps? like navagtion system on it? or you had to download it i need to know before i purchase being i used navagation for my job =)

  • @roniejohnson Yes, it has GPS and you can use Google Navigation. I think Navigation came with the phone, but if not you should be able to download it. I remember using it on the phone.

  • @tanksandplanes thank you so much! i think imma go purchase this phone now! =)

  • @roniejohnson yah it has gps

  • dude show the qwerty! damn

  • @cougars1270 Qwerty what?

  • @tanksandplanes.....the qwerty keyboard that slides on the side

  • @twilightfan4940 I don't have the phone anymore so I can't show it.

  • Does the intercept have mp3?

  • @TehEpaicPwnzor666 Yes, it plays MP3s.

  • well wat is better for texting

  • @TheTeddybeara A physical keyboard.

  • help me out samsung intercept or the optimus v

  • @TheTeddybeara If you don't need physical keyboard get the Optimus V.

  • They may or may not have the best phones available, BUT THEIR SERVICE WILL COME BACK TO HAUNT YOU IN THE MOST TERRIBLE WAY, AND THERE WILL BE NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT, JUST TRY IT,

  • @Salnsd You can say that about any of the cell phone companies. I've had Virgin Mobile for 10 years probably and there has only be a few times when service was down.

  • haha LOL i still have this phone even though I use another one. I keep it with me as an extra MP3, play some super metroid on the emulator or if i want to watch youtube videos I saved on the microSD card, that way, i dont have to buy the plans. LOL

  • hey guys here's a heads up, if your gonna activate a new phone for Virgin Mobile, put in the code: eDpDUMuT during activation for 60 FREE minutes =)

    .

    .

  • what is tht app wiff all the buttons for wifi and bluetooth on the other page.?

  • @rawremochickable That is probably Extended Controls or the built in Power Control.

  • @tanksandplanes okay so power control is built in? sorry im not very knowledge able.

  • @rawremochickable No problem. The Power Control widget comes with the phone so you can add it to one of your desktops just like any widget.

Hold your finger down on a clear area (needs to be a clear row), select Widget, then Power Control.

  • Would you still recomend this phone?

  • @PiePictures If you have to have a physical keyboard, then yes, otherwise get the Optimus.

  • @tanksandplanes i have a few questions about that phone im thinking about buying one first off can it be used as a wifi hotspot, can i flip it sideways like on ipod and screen rotate or is it only when its keyboard slid open, can i serf the web while in a call...... please respond asap thanks you and have a nice day

  • Does this phone have wifi?

  • @661chaos661 Yes, you can connect to WiFi access points.

  • hw much is tax

  • @AlysonAdamek No tax on the monthly service as I'm in a no sales tax state.

  • @lena88200 For me on the Intercept I didn't have any problems. When I updated to the Optimus there were some initial problems with MMS messages (which affected many) but they seem to have fixed those issues.

  • Did you do that on Movie Maker ?

  • @TheKarlall Yes, that one was Movie Maker and the ones that have a white bar across the bottom are made with Roxio Creator.

  • Does the camera have a flash? Can you send a mass text (same text to multiple people)? Is there an app comparable to Shazam (song recognition)? Thanks. Nice video.

  • @daviddelasho No. Yes. Yes, available in the Android Market.

  • Free bonus 60 minutes within the first 72 hours of airtime and top-up at least $25, and we both get 60 free minutes with this kickback code: VYQNGNVP.

  • you have a good video camera must have alot of mega pixels to have that high quality view:)

  • @1katherineknight I'm using a Kodax Zi8 which does 1080p, though I usually record in 720p.

  • @tanksandplanes cool:):):) is the samsung intercept all that is cracked up to be????? in other words, is it cool?? because im geting one for my birthday. and ive been searching and searching for videos on youtube to see wat its about.. thanks for making a video. it's help:):)

  • @1katherineknight When I had it I enjoyed it. I do sometimes miss the physical keyboard.

  • @tanksandplanes physical keybord????? is is like the keybord that is ...... well its kinda hard to explaine but is like the kyocera loft? or something that the keybord is like already there without sliding it out?

  • @1katherineknight The keyboard on the Intercept slides out. You can use the virtual keyboard too, but I always found if I had a long message to type I preferred the physical keyboard over the virtual keyboards.

  • you know that u can receive free calls on this app Textfree

  • you have text free on this phone ? :o

  • @Josespbon89 I have unlimited Texts with the plan I'm using with the phone.

  • Textfree app works perfectly on this phone????

  • @sanson141 Don't know. I use the built in Texting app.

  • When you buy the phone does the phone come with the up the updates or do you have to do it your self?

  • @GearsOfWar1800 So far I think the Intercept is still being sold with 2.1 and Virgin Mobile will update you. I haven't heard of anyone purchasing a 2.2 yet.

  • Virgin Mobile 2.2 update IS OUT!!!!!!!

  • @zacattack96067 Yes, I've been reading that. I believe it is being rolled out to groups of people so it might be a few weeks before everyone has it.

  • @tanksandplanes they released it to 5000 people to be testers and are reveiwing it for bugs before the do full release.

  • @tanksandplanes I update to 2.2 and the market had a changed theme like the one you had , then 3 days passed around and the market theme went back to the original 2.1 market theme? anu idea what happen:?! thanx.

  • @accounter100 Maybe you uninstalled the updates? I'm not really sure as the only way I've done that in the past was to remove the updates.

  • im in oregon to!

  • @warrior4life15 Hope your part of Oregon has been getting more sunshine than I!

  • @tanksandplanes ha not really always damn cloudy around here

  • get the optimus v instead its better.

  • is android 2.2 out yet

  • @bandit2133 No it isn't. Virgin Mobile has moved it out to possibly the end of the month.

  • @bandit2133Do it yourself , its very simple! Mine came out perfect faster then ever!

  • Use this kickback code for extra time kYFFNGtP. Not sure if it is just done on activation or what.

  • Is the service of Virgin Mobile any good and how is the internet is it fast

  • @MALDASF They have had some problems the last couple months but it seems that they've improved the 3G quite a bit the last couple weeks.

  • @tanksandplanes

Thanks man for the info do you think is worth to get it

  • @MALDASF I really like my Optimus and haven't regretted getting it at all.

  • CAn u download Netfilx

  • @KIGHT3 Don't know for the Intercept, but it didn't show up in the Android Market for the Optimus.

  • were do u get the widget for the wifi bluetooth n the other 3 options under pandora ???????????????????

  • @MsChava310 It's probably the Power Control widget that comes with the phone.

  • does this phone have video?

  • @estupinanchick13 Yes, you can record video.

  • can you activate samsung intercept in metropcs

  • @sexygirl1238132 You can't use virgin mobile phone on their network.

  • How much was this?

  • @TahtahCutie52 The Intercept is around $170 I think, it might be lower.

  • you sound like kevin spacey

  • @johnson4u269 A couple people have mentioned that, but I'm no relation! LOL

  • Comment removed

  • optimus v is much more better than this,, i am using it right now and i don't have any problem with it so far

  • @33borislam I agree. LG Optimus V is the way to go; it's a much better phone for a lower price.

  • @YZ125ups If you have to have a physical keyboard get the Intercept, otherwise get the Optimus.

  • can you make ringtones or can you only buy from vm?

  • @simplexemotions I use Ringdroid.

  • PORTLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Does this have WiFi?

  • @Avatarblackwolf Yes it does.

  • @tanksandplanes is it fast enough? Does the youtube video get stuck like metropcs.

  • @spades57able Sometimes it will pause, but it may just be YouTube as I'll get the same amount of pauses even on my home network which is a 5MB down / 0.6MB up.

  • can you download videos straight from the web to the phone?

  • @Mr599715 Would probably depend on the format. An AVI, WMV, etc. you would probably be able to.

I don't have my Intercept any more so I can't try.

  • @HomelessBobblehead If it is a physical problem I would take it back and exchange it.

  • is this a screen like the iphone where you have to use your finger? or like the rumor touch where you have to slightly press to scroll or use a stylus? can you use a stylus on the intercept or is a solid lcd screen

  • @MrBsmithers24 Yes, just use your finger. You don't have to press hard, and you can't use a stylus.

  • almost every video doesnt have the clock widget thing but i have it its so awesome

  • does this phone have swype?

  • @TheJUANSTER1989 No it doesn't. Once it gets Android 2.2 in the spring it probably will.

  • plase reply for virgin mobile its $25 period each month right so is it like metropcs 40 dollar plan and would you recommend this over metropcs

  • @staticking29 I have no experience with MetroPCs so I couldn't say.

  • @staticking29 Virgin Mobile Uses Some Of The Sprint Network So It Won't Be A Rip Off Network While Metro Pcs Uses It's Own Network. Metro Pcs Is Okay, I Have Metro Pcs And I HATE It. I'm Switching To Virgin Mobile Because Of The Price. It's A Good Deal But Metro's Android Phones Are Okay But Laggy.

  • Tengo un phone de estoy y se me bloqueo por yahoo como lo puedo desbloquear..???? Ayuda..!!

  • Is it a track-pad or a regular button?

  • @angiee161 It's a cursor that you can use. I rarely use it.

  • @tanksandplanes I just got this phn today and the cursor does not seem to work. Just wondering if you had that problem

  • @anapm160 For me it would scroll through messages, or scroll through links on a web page. I didn't find much use for it as I could easily do that with my finger. But that's just me, I'm sure others found it useful.

  • Virgin mobile has the stupidest phones

  • HEY!!!!! did this phone ever upgrade to 2.2

  • @taiwoo The 2.2 update will be available in the Spring.

  • @tanksandplanes I have a question. How did you get the pandora search bar on your display for your apps? I have been trying too find out how too do so so i can just click the app and play music.

  • @iRapeClowns When you install Pandora you also get a widget that you can install. So by holding your finger down on the desktop a menu will pop up. Select Widget and then find it and select it. It should then appear on the desktop.

  • Do you recommend this phone for Virgin Mobile?

  • @ZeissReich Yes. I still like the phone very much.

  • Hiii.. I have yet another question.. My phone lags A LOT.. When I leave the phone on standby at work I just put it in my purse and when I reach the power button to wake the phone up the screen wont come on.. Instead I ALWAYS have to take out the battery and start up the phone.. I have 10 days left to return the phone and get my full money back.. Is it always going to do this?? Should I return it and get my money back? Im pretty annoyed by it. What should I do? ♥

  • @KJDY22 I've never had to reset the phone by taking the battery out. I'm had the phone on for about a month now without it being powered down.

If you don't have a bunch of widgets or apps installed and the phone is doing that then I would take it back and swap it for a different one as that isn't normal for the phone.

  • @SkankehMole I have the Rumor Touch also, tht happened to me & they sent me a new one. Go to virginmobiles website & @ the top of the mainpage go to help and it takes you to help overview and almost to the bottom of the page itll say click here to send us a message & u will be emailing them ur problem with the phone & they will apologize for the inconvinence & send you a new phone & battery (no charger) and you send them back your old one in the envelope they send u & u got a new 1. good luck!

  • I'm mad i bought the goddamn Rumor Touch and could've got this one for $30 more if i had of waited an extra 2 months... now im piss broke and my rumor touch freezes all the time so i cant buy another..

  • @lovelylesly1 i believe you can go online and pay and setup an account with virgin mobile, and buy the cards you see in the stores --stuff like that? personally i think that i will get the 60 dollar plan with virgin. with my cell plan now i used at least 35000 minutes in less than a year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @pinkbutter1984 Yes, you should be able to do that. I did that method before I went to the BeyondTalk plan. Currently I have PayPal auto pay them every month.

  • @lovelylesly1 $25 for unlimited data, unlimited text, and 300 minutes talk.

  • @lovelylesly1 You can also buy cards and apply the code off the card to your account.

  • @lovelylesly1 I pay my bill online at Virgin Mobile USA

  • If you got a Virgin Mobile phone for the holidays, use my kickback code when activating it and we'll both get 60 free bonus minutes. eYQwnWtU is the code. There is a spot for it on the official website.

  • heyy i bought this phone and for some reason i cant download apps? is it a problem with the phone or am i doin something wrong or wat??

and is anyone else having the same problem ir is it just me?? :/

  • @Sparxx93 Did you setup a Google account to use with the Android Market? You'll need one if you haven't.

  • @tanksandplanes yea i did set one upp and like i clickk to download apps and it says starting download but it stays like that it never actually starts.

  • @Sparxx93 You might go into Settings - Applications - Manage Applications - select Market - then Uninstall Updates. This may clear it up. However, you'll also lose the updates to the Market that have downloaded. Typically at the next update for the Market it will get back to normal.

  • This is the best phone ever! No BS! I love my phone. I want to pass on the kickback code that I used to get 60 minutes for free. Type in Case Sensitive: yJJ6VPJT when you activate your new Virgin Mobile phone!

  • if you cant move apps to sd card on 2.1 what and how can you move to the sd card to make room on the phone memory to make room for more apps

  • @bigdawg3297 Install Android 2.2 gives you that ability.

There are also instructions on how to on the internet which you can search for.

  • @tanksandplanes you can do that??? holy shit make a vid and ill suscribe right away!!!!!

  • I can't wait to get this. I are need occasional interneting!

  • @JtenHopen It's a great phone for casual use.

  • they need to make more hq videos on this phone it works just like a droid i gettin this one for christmas and when i get it im gonna post some youtube vids on it

  • @jezebela132rockzaa1 This phone isn't as capable as a Motorola Droid, if that's what you are referring to.

  • nice words there buddy.

  • @jeterdiaz1 I don't script it, I just rattle off straight from the cuff.

  • thanks for the interveiw really helped my decision

  • @36thSTkiller You are welcome. Even after 2 months I still enjoy the phone!

  • Okay is this phone a good MP3 player?

  • @ohitzjeremy It works just fine playing music.

  • are you able to pay monthly by credit card like any other service?

  • @JeremyThomasWilliams Yes, you can set up monthly payments.

  • Thank you! I have enjoyed your different reviews. I ordered the interccept yesterday and I am eager to get it into my hands so that I can play around with all the functions.

You commented to someone that you have tethered your phone to your laptop- can you do a video of how to do that and how it operates (fast or slow)? Thank you!

  • @tanksandplanes can you put five screens on the phone instead of 3

  • @NickLe1103 If you buy a replacement for the Home program that supports more than 3, then yes.

  • @tanksandplanes With launcher pro or any other app out there, can it give you multiple homescreens and the ability to go up and down? Instead of just left and right? Also, does it need to be rooted in order for it to be tethered?

    Thanks

  • @ddr122 So far it only does left and right.

I've tethered to my laptop without being rooted.

  • @tanksandplanes Perhaps if you purchase Launcher Pro Plus you can go up and down? And also, is the screen atleast decent resolution? And what app did you use to tether?

Thanks, just bought the phone for 174 online =)

  • @ddr122 I have Launcher Pro and as far as I know there's no option at this time to scroll vertically.

I think it was EasyTether but I don't remember precisely.

Just be forwarned, Tethering is probably against Virgin Mobile Use policy, so do it at your own risk.

  • i think im getting this phone for christmas and i have a couple of questions. How good are the apps? How well does the youtube app work?? And how much money is the phone for a month with youtube and internet??? Please comment..... anybody who knows this information

  • @Monet5522 The apps are the standard Android apps.

I pay $25 per month to have unlimited texting and data, and 300 minutes of talk.

The YouTube app plays the videos just fine.

  • @tanksandplanes thanks a lot!! :)

  • I have used Virgin Mobile for over a year now and I love it. You can't beat 25 dollars a month! Right now I have the rumor touch, which I love, but I am thinking about getting the Intercept since it is android. Do you think it's worth it? My ONLY concern is that the Intercept has a smaller keyboard than the rumor touch, and I text a lot.

  • Hi,

Thanks for the video. I am wondering if you have ever tried using gphone within gmail account using the broswer from your phone. Does it work? If it does, does it uses minutes from your Virgin Mobile account?

    Cheers

    B.

  • @brikumae I've downloaded the Google Voice Android app and it works fine on the phone. If the phone makes a "phone call" as apposed to a "voip call" then yes, it will use your minutes.

  • @tanksandplanes explain this alittle more. voip call vs. phone call

  • Comment removed

  • how do you save pictures from facebook

  • do u consider virgin mobile good?

  • @MvSly14 I've used them for more than 5 years and only 1 time were there issues of texting not working. Otherwise, as long as you are near Sprint towers then you should be fine.

  • @MvSly14 they are on the sprint network. they are great in my area.

  • Man.. Wished I got this instead of my Ipod Touch..

  • @khamvongsa09 Don't feel bad. I have an iTouch 3rd gen. I thought that the Intercept would totally replace it, but I find I still use the iTouch some. Though I'll probably sell it someday.

  • @tanksandplanes I'm having a hard time deciding to get this intercept and just give my Ipod Touch 4G to my mum or just keep the Ipod Touch 4G and get the LG Rumor 2 for virgin mobile. What do you think? Also, hows the speed in your area for the service? Thanks :)

  • @khamvongsa09 1st and foremost, only get what you can afford.

That being said, I've had my iTouch 3G for over a year and have been ok with it (the thing I most hate is iTunes, but that's another story!). I'm lucky to have WiFi at home and work so I can easily use it.

However, you can't use it when you aren't in WiFi 'range" so having the Intercept, and all its capabilities has been very positive.

My 3G speeds here range from 200-900 down and 100-200 up. So very doable.

  • Can you skype call?
