Sisyphus: Communist Anti-hero Number One. He shrugs and says, "I'll do whatever you want, Zeus, just make sure your 2.4 children spend half their lives at university, then the other half behind desks. I'll heave a thousand million boulders up Mount Tantalus as long as I don't end up as big a ponce as you".
I don't think he's still alive... This is an old hungarian animation from the '70s. That's why the funny voice... If you speak a different language, even your hufs and groands sound different...
@XnonameX The director himself lent his voice to the character. btw he's not dead, his next project will be ready soon recently which was made for like 22years... its the animated version of the drama The tragedy of Man by Madách.
Sisyphus also escaped from the underworld the fist time he was stuck down; the guy is a total man. He chained Hades to the rock that was supposed to hold HIM! With Hades chained up people could not be claimed my death. Zombies were about, and Ares go pissed cause his wars were rendered meaningless. Sisyphus was one sneaky dude. In the Metamorphoses Ajax also hints that he may be the father of Odysseys (and this makes a bit of sense, since Odysseys is so sneaky).
Sisyphus was not punished for trickery but for betrayal. Zeus had kidnapped a girl, and Sisyphus told the father who had taken her (Zeus) and where. Zeus felt betrayed so punished him.
Sisyphus who was sentenced by the Greek gods to roll boulders up a hill for eternity for Sisyphus committed the crime of trickery. In the legends, it describes him rolling one boulder up a hill that would eventually fall down again. He was forced to repeat the process forever. This movie depicts Sisyphus rolling many boulders up a hill made of boulders.
Another amazing Hungarian animation, which is the only Oscar-Winner Hungarian short animation:The Fly (A légy) - Ferenc Rófusz, 1980, and a nomination from 2007: Maestro - Géza M Tóth. You should see them.
OH MY SHIT... you can feel him struggling, wanting to just stop and die... you can feel heès not determined just has to do this... itès making me feel grosss
wait. what? I read was that the Gods condemned Sisyphus to ceaselessly rolling a rock up to the top of a mountain, whence it would fall back of its own weight. this animation depicts him rolling many rocks into the shape of a hill? If the Gods believed there was no more dreadful punishment than futile and hopeless labor then why would they allow him to accomplish the building of a mountain?
Nope! I got this off someone 20 years ago, they had taped it from a show that used to be on called, "Acadamy Leaders". That's all I can tell you. I do have some others from the same show I'll be posting in the future. Good luck!
