not bad, but you need to imitate the speakers from the course better than that if you want to sound more natural. you definitely have an american accent. unmistakable.
Although, it's not 100% comprehensive, it gives you a solid foundation to speak and understand some of the basics. I have used other mandarin programs, but they speed through their conversations and words. Pimsleur thoroughly goes through their pronunciations 100's of times, so that you can speak and understand the language. I bother my chinese friend with what I learned, and he told me that my chinese is pretty good and I'm only up to lesson 11 of Mandarin I. I will go through all 3 levels.lolz
@Paul3love It's way easier to learn how to speak it compared to learning how to read and write in mandarin. But pinyin is affective and most of everyone in china can read and write pinyin that's their way of converting their language into english....

I just started learning on 9-22-09 and I gotta tell you it's amazing to learn a foreign language especially Mandarin aka Pung Tung Qua ( Pune Tune Qua). And to really put a spin on it I'm a Brotha-- some may call me a n***a but I beg to differ. Anyway I'm 32 and by the time I'm 40 I want to be fluent in Spanish, Mandarin, French and Italian let alone English. It's a huge goal but since I stare at a bulldog's ass for 10 hrs. a day I think I can accomplish it. Sheh Sheh Ni--Si Chen!!!
Hey buddy do you know how to do pinyin or chinese characters? I use pimsluer too but unfortunately they don't include texts. I think it's very important to atleast know how to type PinYin but I also study the characters very hard. I'll show you how to type pinyin and the chinese characters on the three words you used. Let me know if you have any questions.

The reason that Rosetta Stone does not add translations is because they want you to use the LAD (language aquisition device), we humans have insinde our brain, basicaly the translation is the picture you are seeing, and the reasoning you put behind it, just like when you first learned your first language, you learn by listening and association. Using both Roseta Stone and Pimsleur is a great way to learn a language,but like you said Rosetta Stone can get a litle annoying without the translations
