  • this one is fucking briliant!

  • Definitely a lot of influence from Joy Division and The Smiths, awesome!!

  • I like how his voice live is different from the recording it sounds good

  • vocalistnya pakai baju BATIK from Indonesia

  • remind me of a mild poppier version of Joy Division here.

  • I saw them live and the drummer was playing guitar and the guitarist played drums

  • the drums are pure american apparel manufactured greatness.......i have to admit

  • @fitzy220290 nothing to do with american apparel, not even figuratively, seek therapy,... I have to admit. Though they are in the direction of what could be called american fantasy, with apparel of the american sort.

  • Cool. I wonder why the bassline is played on a guitar, though.

  • @keonami that's part of the charm of their art, - his 'charisma'. I hope he keeps it.

  • Oh God he sounds horrible.

  • @tennanttrainee8 i think he is fucking around.. haha i hope. i haven't seen them live yet

  • @tennanttrainee8 he sounds great, it's affected vocals by intent. It's hamming it up into the swank fab

  • check the new the Drums' song ''the new world' on my youtube channel

  • I'm lying on my bed feeling poorly and thinking why oh why me? It's a hard ball world we live in with a giant shit sandwich and we've all gotta take a bite. Oh hum....

  • VERY NICE

  • That's sweet!!!

  • so much better than the cd version..

  • this sounds like the glorious love child of Joy Division and Tokyo Police Club :)

  • He sounds so different live than on studio. Not necessarily significantly worse, but it's just so different since it's not the versions I fell in love with on album.

  • Who's playing the bass?

  • @prozacpeople adam kessler

    ex member

  • @matteolazazzera

But he is clearly playing guitar on the video!

  • @prozacpeople this video is very oldd Adam now is not a Drums' member

  • @matteolazazzera

    I know that,what is a shame.

  • @prozacpeople the guy playing "bass" is jacob graham

  • i can never figure out what he's saying around 2:28

  • @JoeG230 hate you, i want him to hate you, i want him to hate you

  • @JoeG230 "hate you, I wanted to hate you"

  • I love this live version! The bass is so loud! And you can hear each instrument so distinctively, as well as the singer.

  • It seems that's not the same singer O_o

  • It's okay to smile guys.

  • His voice is even better live.

  • this one sounds very stroke-ish

  • fuck !!.. this song is the best !

  • oficialmente a melhor banda dos últimos tempos!!!

  • what is the guitarests guitar? (not adam the other one. i think jason or something)

  • fucking great!! <3

  • Ian Curtis on Viagra

  • @Katamaridoodi No shit Sherlock. Hence my comment. LOLL!

  • The Smiths have reformed! ;¬)

  • SO GOOD. THE BEST BAND of recent years

  • I'm going to see them on Tuesday in Liverpool!!!! They deserve to get more recongnition for what they do...the charts are full of over produced rubbish these days! ^_^

  • Saw these dudes live. They put on a fantastic show. If you get a chance go for it, you won't regret it.

  • looks like the smiths

  • @Adrianclassyman sound a bit like 'em too.

  • ingenious lads

  • funny retros

  • cant help but think of morrissey when i hear the vocals on this live version o_O

  • Beautiful performance. Haven't seen them live yet. They play without bass? Not that the rhythm section isn't holding it's own. Just interesting.

  • Oh My God- I actually don't know what I would do without their music everyday? I love them x They are absolutly amazing- musically and as people- and I want more than anything to meet them, thank them, and hug them. Muchly x

  • yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeessssssssssssssssssssss....

  • the smiths

  • I've been obsessed with The Field Mice since forever - I'm so glad they have fans other than me! You can definitely hear their influences in their songs, but unlike a lot of bands, they're not a copy, they're a whole new sound.

  • Good album, but is the guy trying to be morrissey.

  • This is def the best song of the album. The lyrics are just perfect

  • Reverb!!!!! Perfect!!!

  • @DeBlauweStad i know im gunna sound stupid. but whats a reverb? i know itrs something to do with guitars

  • @MrMUGS94 No problem! ;-) Listen for example to the song "Pet Sounds" from The Beach Boys or to Dick Dale & The Del Tones "Misirlou". It's like playing in a big hall. If you listen to "Down by the water" from The Drums you can hear the extreme reverb when he sings very loud and suddenly stops. You here then the lingering sound of the effect.

I hope I could help you out.

  • @DeBlauweStad cheers i see what you mean now. your one of the few helpful people on you tube

  • If this is their BEST song then they are in trouble and the next single would be - "I thought I'd be in much trouble and I was right".

Good sound, tasteless fashion and Moz like gestures don't make up for good MUSIC !

Something is a miss, something similar to - A MELODY.

Silly how I fall for the critic's ad each and every time. Some old man of 25 who thinks this is the band of our time but with eternal music. BS.

  • I want "SUBMARINE " in Album. But i love this! the perfect musics I love the Drums ( COME TO BRAZIL) ♥

  • Ive been listening to this band for a few months thanks to my new digital radio and the nme channel, such an underrated band when you see the amount of views, but with me seeing them with Kings of Leon on the 30th maybe i wont have to fight with 65000 others to get a glimpse, whatever,il be drunk and dancing like a loony and i cant bloody wait!! :D

  • This is better than the recorded version definitely :)

  • This is the best song of The Drums and my favourite because that's what all the NME critics say.

Glad he doesn't do the weird dancing in this video though. Love the band, like the fact that he gets into the music, but he's no Morrissey or Ian Curtis ;)

  • this is one of the best songs out of the album. Those guys know how to write and play songs about being heartbroken and still be fun, without bullshit sentimentalism

  • @Akatosh86 THat's why i fucking adore them!!...8)

  • The Drums <3

aw man there soo good live , hope they tour soon with their new album!

    x

  • @randomness044 yes they do, check thedrums dot com, they also go on tour with another good band called surfer blood

  • So true, cant wait for album now.

  • Brilliant as always ;)
