What fool ass 18 or 19 year old would be heading into combat in a landing craft against fortified defenses? They would have to be stupid as hell. And the country, judges, poiliticians, and country that sent such young kids into such a situation ought to be shot.
From what I read on the wiki on Guam, the Spanish invaded and stole Guam from the Chamorro, and then gave it to the United States in a treaty, when it really wasn't theirs to give in the first place.
America, the propaganda had been dominated by the local people in human rights violations in the Japanese army in Saipan. But that was not true. After the war, presenting the question of its content in American Education by the American people Saipan, taught to accept the anti-Japanese education to the children were adults who know the good government of the time by the Japanese military. Zhina is a scene that killed the Japanese
@pentagrafafgani Go fuck yourself you goat-molesting raghead wog fuck. The only cowards are you islamic scum who can't even come close to the valor exhibited by the US Marines who kill your kind in droves. I piss on your Koran and I piss on your coward father's grave. Fuck your murderous hypocrite religion. A religion for slaves. Never will I or any real American will submit to Sharia Law. If it comes here then its war to the knife, no quarter asked or given.
@Unreconstructed8285 like you a lot of these soldiers who were killed usa you have a shallow mind and u idiot mind u never win war in afganistan u family death with IED...hhahaha congratulation u in hell
@pentagrafafgani No, wog. You are an idiot slave who follows a slave religion and who has a shallow mind and needs to get the fuck out of my country, parasite. My cousin is in the 82nd AIrborne and he kills you fucks and laughs about it. You will never bring about a world caliphate. NEVER! I'll bet you'll be sure to hear a knock from the FBI, Muslim pig. For animals that you can not eat you sure do hold many similarities. Now, get out of my country and go back to your shithole, sandnigger.
@Unreconstructed8285 se you all have been fooling the government and the elite, they have asked for your blood to their wealth, think what the American war for oil terorris not ask for mercy for them that you idiot u goverment is skull and bone,You know your mother is a whore like you're sleeping with every woman that's american american
@barmtrail I suggest reading "Battling For Saipan" by Francis A. O'brian and "Through These Portals" by Wayne C. Macgregor. These two books will clear up any confusion.
@29manchu I do not need to read anymore books on the pacific war. I have about 20. My father fought on bouganville-guam and iwo jima. He served with the 3rd marine division 9th regiment radioman. I know all too well about the army and that corn pipe smoking asshole. He landed on Guam after the real battles and brought along pound cake and every other wonderful mouth watering delight. My fathers squad threatened to kill his men guarding the food if they didnt pass it out to the marines.
@29manchu Again...I never said the army did not spill blood in the same mud as the marines, i am only saying that the south pacific belonged to the marine and the navy!
Another fun fact for you and your army. Did you know when the army buried their dead and they only had a dog tag, they would grab another part of a dead soldier and throw it in the grave and say," well atleast its a body part" I understand its not the uniform, but the man, but show some respect for the marines who fought their
Check the Facts. When both the Marines and the US Infantry fought along side each other on Okinawa,US Infantry Kills were 41,000 were Marine Kills were 12,000.US Infantry a Joke?I think not. Look up the 164th Infantry Regiment who fought along side the Marines on Guadalcanal,Look what was said and given to the US Infantry by Marines.Agian the 77th Infantry division had the highest kill ratio in the Pacific 20 Kills on Leyte.I hope you're not another Marine that's mad cause 3id took baghdad.
@Gilk53 I have seen your uncles name on 3rd marine division association web site or in my fathers records. I cant remember which. Have you obtained your uncles records from vetrecs? Have you registered your uncles name on WW2 memorial? Its free. My fathers best friend died during the first day invasion as well as your uncle. If you know which battalion he served in, it will be easier to locate his name on the wall on guam beach. They have a web site as well. Cant remember it sorry.
my grandpa was in guam when it fell to the japenese he said it was like a battle that might not end he lost friends family and my grandma he fought till he was wounded and had to be brought to a POW camp where he can make a recovery we lost guam cause there was little weapons mostly old ones and little anti air guns
Ther was a unwritten rule, no prisoners. We wanted to kill the enemy... Man that is just unfathomable... But, when you hear what they did to our american prisoners, you can understand why they felt that way... Such attrocities were committed... Why must those Japs be so brutal, how come honor was not respected back then???
@rsapienza1965 What the japs did to the people of Guam was unspeakable. My father say what they did to the woman and you wouldnt believe it if i told you. When the phillipines was about to fall back into the hands of the americans, the japs slaughtered over 100,000 civilians, even children!!
WW2 was by all means justified in my eyes. The germans and mostly the japs were beyond evil. They had to code except kill or kill yourself.
@barmtrail I agree of all the wars in modern times, WWII was the one that had the most justification. You don't have to tell me what they did, I have a pretty good idea of the things that happened. The estimates on lives lost was nearly 60 Million. When you consider that the U.S. only lost 247,000 troops. That means so many lives lost NOT soldiers from any side. The civilian toll on the rest of the world is just unthinkable. It just completely depresses me that so many innocents were kill
@rsapienza1965 It was such a different world back then. The sensless bombings of cities occupied with millions of civilans was just horific. The irony being that when the B29s bombed japan with the fat man and liitle boy, it actually saved millions of lives! GOD does have a sense of humor showing us mere mortals the affects of war. Hopefully we as humans will never have to kill one another in said wars again.
@barmtrail Problem is my friend, they are stilll killing ppl today. No5 that it is sensless so to speak, but, why?? Between Iraq, and Aghganastan millions have dies. Don't get me wrong, I love our troops and wish them nothing but health adn well being. But, really where has the world chaned? Korea, Vietnam, the middle east? My dad was there in 60, and nothing has changed. I just don't want to see thisshitanymore, God please help us to stop... Mankind needs to stop.. Ya know??
@rsapienza1965 I hear you and i agree. After WW2 the. "wars" as they called them were nothing more than the toughest dictator on the block B/S. Today however it is much much more. OIL!! and sad tosay that is what it is all about. The world would stop without it, as you most likely know. The Aphgan war is something entirely different, yes it is somewhat about terrorism and it is also a training ground for out troops and they go there to learn tatics and test weapons. It will never change there.
@barmtrail The thing that gets me the most is the general populace really has no idea why we are involved over there. The Feds tell the ppl that is a war on terrorism. And in some aspects it is, but, we need to either take control or get the hell out. We take a mountain clear it out, then leave, two days later the terrorists are right back on the mountain. At least in WWII we took the land and kept it safe for the civilians that lived there. And I have nothing but respect and admiration
@rsapienza1965 for the troops. But I hate to see these brave men and woman get killed or injured and for what? We speak of diplomacy, screw that, Take control of the area and keep pushing until we find the bastards that are calling the shots, then wipe them out. Hell, there was an arrest today just north of Pittsburgh PA (where I am from) of a suspected terrorist. I'm telling man, the world is crazy, and seems to be getting worse everyday. I am starting to think the Myans may be right 2012
@rsapienza1965 I hear you..My parents were from lancaster. Bottom line is they cant tell us it all about oil, and its not in fact all about oil, it has to do with the taliban as well, and like i told you its a training ground as well for our new military weapons and tactics. It is the way of the world, and we cannot change them all. There was no way in hell that sadam was going to be left in charge of all that oily ground, its better that he's gone. bottom line.
@rsapienza1965 The 2012 scare will make billions on books and movies and the selling of survival supplies. The best way to control is to instill fear. That is what 2012 is all about. Dont buy into it brother, it is complete B/S.
Just like reality shows, scientology and rush limpballs..They pay that fool 20 million a year!!! Think outside the box and you will do fine, follow these talking heads and they will lead you into the abyss of disinfo and james bond movies. All is not what it seems.
@barmtrail I really don't buy into most of the BS. The Bible full of allegory, using eternalism to control the mases. But, I do see a tend here, we are fucking up the world, ti can only take so much before it gives. The more I think about things, the signs are there. We are the spawn of an ET race, and they will be back to fix the shit we have stireed up. That is what I meant about the 2012 thing. Honestly, we are a petry dish, and the scientists are just watching us develope... Think?
@rsapienza1965 Petry dish? Well i dont know about that, but i have entertained your therory on the spawed ET race. Many of us humans are very similar, thats to say i have seen people that look very the same but live 1000 miles away from each other. I choose to attend a christian church every sunday and believe in a supreme force known as GOD. The only way to live this life is thru the bible. I have tried every other way and they are destructive to my spirit and they give me NO answers. BELIEVE!
@barmtrail I agree that there in all likelyhood that there is a Supreme Being of some sort or another. Take Jesus for Example, concieved via non-sexual manner. Can we do that today? Yes. He had abilities above and beyond the beleivable 2000 years ago. Is it not possible that Mary was Invetro Impregnated? In his life and teachings he has set rules for "better" human behavior. Some of the things accomplished througout the world back then, we still not reasonably explain. Pyramids for ex.
@rsapienza1965 Not only the ones in Egypt, but, in South America, structures in England, etx. How can cultures around the world, imitate each other without co-mingling? Now in saying that, I still find a need to think that something or some being started this whole thing off... That would be what we think of as God. I was rasied as a Catholic, in that faith there is complete hiarchy of Angels, beings thast couild fly down from the heavans. If we were back there, would we not think of these
@rsapienza1965 beings as "God" like? I have to think that things of "Folk Lure" usually has some basis for truth. Take David and Goliath, a race of giants. But, we have not found any evidence of this race. Could it not be fathomable that this race took their dead back home to bury them, not unlike our military of today, no man left behind. I do believe that one day these questions will be answered. Probably not in our time, but, one day.Something to think about though, don't you think?
@rsapienza1965 Of ALL the people i have talked to on UTUBE, you are with out a doubt the nicest human being. I wish we were friends in person so we could talk in length and detail. I am in the health care business and i have been with people when they are days from death. And everytime they visited by spirits. This world we live in is not it. After we have gone we will know the answers. I choose to believe in my heavenly father, he always directs me to where i NEED to go, not where i want to go.
@barmtrail Funny, you are in the Healthcare field. I did serve in the same field. Althought, I was an Adminstrator, I did it because I felt I was helping my fellow mankind. Hit me up with a personal message, we can discuss our views via email. I would look forward to discussing the things that pass as random thoughts. Trrying to figure out what our "purpose" here is something I do. Bouncing idea's off of a like minded person, is something I think I might enjoy... Peace Friend.
if you go to Agat beach which was one of the landing sites you would see a monument that commemorate the people who died in the invasion. my papa was the one who worked to have the monument built. and when they show the map and the landing sites, agat beach is the one on the bottom
@anisa828 i live on guam too ok so now you know. we also found a grenade that was not blowned up yet but we threw it away cause it might trigger and blow my head and body a wa y
jeez!! this is so sad!!! i luv guam! i was born there and stayed for 5 years then moved to the states! actually right now at this moment im in guam visitin family!
I'm trying to figure out why the 77th Infantry Division is barely even mentioned. Unless I'm mistaken, I don't think this is some specific history of the Marines on Guam, so why isn't the 77th represented? They didn't just play some peripheral role, after all.
Marines on Guam called them the "77th Mar Div" in tribute.
@sudaev The US Army's 164th Infantry Regiment are never mentioned for the battle of Guadalcanal. Marines Called the them the 164th-marines. Marine General Vandegrift was so impressed with US army's 164th fighting he gave the regiment a Commendation.
@29manchu The army did their job, but the pacific belonged to the Marines and navy. The army did their best fighting in the european theatre. In the pacific the joke was the army carried mops not rifles. They mostly landed with there wal-mart enough supplies to open up a mall. The marines landed when the artillery was hot and on target while the army came in and mopped up the mud and blood. Again the Army kicked ass and took names in the your a peein theatre. Just joking, i had to do it.
@barmtrail Check the facts. When US Infantry and Marines fought along side each other on Okinawa, US Infantry kills were 41,000 Marine kills 12,000. Agian the 77th ID has the Highest kill ration in the Pacific of 20,000 kills on Leyte. US Infantry A joke? Look what was said and given by Marines to the 164th Infantry Regiment who fought along side the Marines on guadalcanal.I hope you're not another Marine thats bitter abouth 3id taking Baghdad.
Sure looks like my dad at 9:29 standing with his arms crossed helmet unclipped. He was one of the shortest men in the marine corp. I wish i could identify the markings on the marines helmets to the left of the screen.
Has anyone ever served with Joseph Lee Hooker First Provisional Marine Brigrade Guam Guadalcanal Okinawa and other campaigns 1944-1945. He was my dad he would never speak about the war . He died of a very rare form of Leukemia 8th reported case in the world in 1973
@AGeekForever Have you visited vetrecs If you know your Dads serial # you can have all his records sent to you. My father did not speak much about the war either. He died in 2008 and i went to vetrecs and they sent me his records.
@barmtrail Actually, I finally contacted the pentagon, and they sent the records to me free. He joined the Military when he was 17, so since it was not his correct birthday, that complicated things. I didn't know his serial number.
My father was there in 44. during the invasion he lost his best buddy (Sgt. Lao Kwick) If anyone knows of his family, please let me know. My father sai he Japs did some horribly things to the guam people, things i wont even repeat here. The first three days were the worst he said. Living in fox holes and eating whatever crawled by.
while in the army i meet a lot guammanians they fellow nco, soilders and commanding officers, they are truely americans. not just a commonwealth people.
@chamorita1998 My grandfather was in the Marines and fought to liberate Guam. I live in Yona right now i went and visited the concentration camp here during Guam liberation day paid my respects. Very strange standing at Asan beach where my grandfather was 65 years ago. I really love this place and have alot of respect for the island and people here,
@2bn442RCT I lived a few islands north and you usually found jap medicine bottles, sake bottes, american coke bottles, casings, rounds, grenades both live and dead, shrapnel from battleships and bombs, live bombs and dead bombs and then the most rare of all: knives and pieces off uniforms such as buttons and the like. Someone I was with once actually found a jap knife that was almost completely rusted away.
@Arelak I was stationed on Guam at the then N.A.S.Agana in the mid-seventies for 16 months. I wnt to Siapan twice during that time, to dive and visit the other historical sites. My uncle was on Siapan with the Seabees during WW2, plus I am a major WW2 history buff, so iwas fascinated. Siapan is a beautiful place, and I would love to visit again someday. Hafa day !
@olentangy74 Not much to see now, they did a whole lot of bulldozing not long ago, there used to be remnants of a jap airfield and they tore it all out to build ANOTHER golf course. They are throwing the history away and bulldozing everything now.
@Arelak Even back in the 70's major Japanese developers were coming into Saipan and Guam. I am so sorry to hear that your island,s history is being bulldozed for the sake of profit.I am glad that I got to see it before all this happened. It would seem that the Japanese got the island after all.
@olentangy74 I no longer live there FYI however the major downfall of the islands has always been their insane greed. The Spanish called them the "islands of thieves" because they would row out and try to rob the galleons if they got too close. There was a really nice picture done by a Spaniard who had his ship boarded by the chamarros and they were even trying to pull the nails out of the wood. A copy of the picture was in the Saipan museum before they closed it down southofGarapan
What fool ass 18 or 19 year old would be heading into combat in a landing craft against fortified defenses? They would have to be stupid as hell. And the country, judges, poiliticians, and country that sent such young kids into such a situation ought to be shot.

I was rasied as a Catholic, in that faith there is complete hiarchy of Angels, beings thast couild fly down from the heavans. If we were back there, would we not think of these
rsapienza1965 1 year ago

I'm trying to figure out why the 77th Infantry Division is barely even mentioned. Unless I'm mistaken, I don't think this is some specific history of the Marines on Guam, so why isn't the 77th represented? They didn't just play some peripheral role, after all.
Marines on Guam called them the "77th Mar Div" in tribute.
sudaev 1 year ago
@sudaev The US Army's 164th Infantry Regiment are never mentioned for the battle of Guadalcanal. Marines Called the them the 164th-marines. Marine General Vandegrift was so impressed with US army's 164th fighting he gave the regiment a Commendation.
29manchu 1 year ago

He died of a very rare form of Leukemia 8th reported case in the world in 1973
AGeekForever 2 years ago
@AGeekForever Have you visited vetrecs If you know your Dads serial # you can have all his records sent to you. My father did not speak much about the war either. He died in 2008 and i went to vetrecs and they sent me his records.
barmtrail 1 year ago
@barmtrail Actually, I finally contacted the pentagon, and they sent the records to me free. He joined the Military when he was 17, so since it was not his correct birthday, that complicated things. I didn't know his serial number.

My father was there in 44. during the invasion he lost his best buddy (Sgt. Lao Kwick) If anyone knows of his family, please let me know. My father sai he Japs did some horribly things to the guam people, things i wont even repeat here. The first three days were the worst he said. Living in fox holes and eating whatever crawled by.

@chamorita1998 My grandfather was in the Marines and fought to liberate Guam. I live in Yona right now i went and visited the concentration camp here during Guam liberation day paid my respects. Very strange standing at Asan beach where my grandfather was 65 years ago. I really love this place and have alot of respect for the island and people here,
IwinbyKO 1 year ago
@2bn442RCT I lived a few islands north and you usually found jap medicine bottles, sake bottes, american coke bottles, casings, rounds, grenades both live and dead, shrapnel from battleships and bombs, live bombs and dead bombs and then the most rare of all: knives and pieces off uniforms such as buttons and the like. Someone I was with once actually found a jap knife that was almost completely rusted away.
That is just a FRACTION of what you can find.

@Arelak What island did you live on? Siapan or Tinian?
olentangy74 1 month ago
@olentangy74 Saipan, been to Guam, Rota and Tinian though.
Arelak 1 month ago
@Arelak I was stationed on Guam at the then N.A.S.Agana in the mid-seventies for 16 months. I wnt to Siapan twice during that time, to dive and visit the other historical sites. My uncle was on Siapan with the Seabees during WW2, plus I am a major WW2 history buff, so iwas fascinated. Siapan is a beautiful place, and I would love to visit again someday. Hafa day !
olentangy74 1 month ago
@olentangy74 Not much to see now, they did a whole lot of bulldozing not long ago, there used to be remnants of a jap airfield and they tore it all out to build ANOTHER golf course. They are throwing the history away and bulldozing everything now.
Arelak 1 month ago
@Arelak Even back in the 70's major Japanese developers were coming into Saipan and Guam. I am so sorry to hear that your island,s history is being bulldozed for the sake of profit.I am glad that I got to see it before all this happened. It would seem that the Japanese got the island after all.
olentangy74 1 month ago
@olentangy74 I no longer live there FYI however the major downfall of the islands has always been their insane greed. The Spanish called them the "islands of thieves" because they would row out and try to rob the galleons if they got too close. There was a really nice picture done by a Spaniard who had his ship boarded by the chamarros and they were even trying to pull the nails out of the wood. A copy of the picture was in the Saipan museum before they closed it down southofGarapan
