i think you have seals and walruses confused, i used to live in bc and ive seen a full grown seal in person they dont even come up to your knees go type in seal clubbing or something to get a picture of a seal compared to a human they are no were near as big as you think they are

If they took it at day it would be too bright, so all you would see is green light with no detail. Um its most likley just light reflected off the clouds by sunlight coming over the horizon or moonlight, remember it doesn't have to be too bright a light as NV intensifies even the smallest amount of light. :)
