and he's getting great marks from Howard about his playing.....which was excellent for sure....especially at the tender age of 17.......where are you today and who do you go by???
excellent find! i can't believe there's not more HR live out there considering his vast footprint of sessions, seminars, GIT, priv lessons and live performances for ages.
A second comment, after reading the notes more carefully, and seeing that you were only 17 and the year, and listening again to your chords, I was curious if you had studied the Mickey Baker books (it sounds like it, am I wrrong?)
It's great to hear this unrehearsed extended solo of Howard Roberts, surely one of the greats of his day. This is really a unique example of Howard's single string stuff. Thanks for the upload. Btw, this brought me to your channel. Very interesting! I noticed the only favorite on your channel is about the Epiphone Broadway. That;s what I play - check out a couple of my solo jazz vids at my channel. I really like your part in this duo with Howard, Jack and I'll be back to check u out!
Very good!! 17? Wow! Two masters - sincerely. The further east you go the better the players are. I attended a seminar in Portland, OR in the 70s and there were no players of Jack's caliber there.
Great!

Is this Darn that Dream? Roberts recorded it on on "The Real Howard Roberts" on August 26, 1977 - according to the HR web page.
