Love this one! Listening to other recordings of this song from her concerts this year, it sounds like the lyric is "and you'll hide from your god like he ever turns his back on us"
@cbhawkins5 That makes so much more sense. That line had always stuck out to me, it never really seemed quite right. When I transcribed the lyrics I was only working with the video I'd taken of a new song, so to get an extra set of ears on it is great! Thanks!
lol, dunno why but some of her stuff reminds me of some Hanson songs. prolly cause the whole slightly souther accent, and with huge amounts of soulfulness in the songs but still kinda pop-rock-ish
@wighty16 This should be it. Let me know if you have any questions. Verse: A,E,F#m,D,A,E,Fdim,F#m,D (2Times) Chorus A,D,A,D,A,D,C#m,E Tell me did I go on a tangent.... D,A,D,E Shame on my family D,A,E,D,A Whatever you see E,Fdim,F#m,E,D But I want you to know that you’ll never be alone
THANK YOU for posting this! I was there for THIS concert and this was the first time I'd ever heard her sing this, (I'm a HUGE Brandi Carlile fan!) and I was crying during this performance. This song reminded me of coming out and excepting myself for who I am, and I remember a lot of these lyrics going through my mind when it all happened. Thanks again!
Awesome thanks! I hear the lyrics as "Did i cause you to stumble, on your feet." And then in the last part it's "When you fall, i will get you, onto your feet." Thanks for sharing! Love this!
@musicaldramaqueen Though I'm listening now and hearing "When you fall, I will get you on your feet!" Bah! This is the trouble with Brandi Carlile's powers of entrancement, I mean laxed enunciation; sometimes you just can't understand what she's saying anymore. Ah, well, we'll just have to wait for the album book to come out :}
This song is flippin incredible. Gorgeous.
