Not to say anything bad about David Ruffin at all, but I have to be one of the few people who actually prefer Dennis. Although a slightly different style, he brings a gritty sound. Ruffin was truly amazing, but very polished.. When both versions of the Temps were touring I would have certainly went to see David, Dennis and Eddie!..

Paul was very ill at the time. If I were him, I would get drunk to alleviate the pain myself. He had sickle-cell anemia, which didn't help any. I hope people can understand why he did what he did. It's such a shame he passed away in 1973, but his legacy will live on. Thank you, Paul Williams.

Great movie but a little fictionalized. David was an articulate well spoken man and wasn't the bad guy they made him out to be. Listen to one of his interviews. Pure class. As years went by he toured with Eddie and they did some great music together.

Al was given a second chance by Paul after the "bottle incident".

Eddie quit BEFORE Paul was replaced by Richard.

Paul "retired" from the group due to liver problems.

Berry Gordy told Otis to fire Damon Harris due to his work ethic.

The only time Otis fired someone was when they missed too many shows or rehearsals.

Otis even admits that he sniffed coke once, and regretted it. NONE of this is in the movie!

The guy that played Melvin did a fantastic job, but I have to say that Otis seems to be the center of the attension during the movie because he seemed to be the only one who could have an opinion in the group & kicked everyone out except Melvin.
