WHY DO EUROPEANS AND JAPANESE ALWAYS HAVE THE COOLEST VANS??????? WE AMERICANS ALWAYS STUCK WITH THE TRADITIONAL ALL-LOOK-ALIKE VANS THAT HAVE NO CHARACTERS AT ALL. THE TOYOTA PREVIA, WHICH IS STILL BEING SOLD IN ASIAN AND EUROPEAN MARKETS ARE SO SEXY AND ADVANCE IN DESIGN.
WE WANT SOME OF THOSE COOL AND BAD-ASS VANS FROM JAPAN AND EUROPE FOR AMERICAN MARKET. TODAY VANS IN THE USA ARE ALL LOOKE ALIKE, YOU CAN'T TELL THE DIFFERENCE ANYMORE. WELL, EXCEPT THE CURRENT NISSAN QUEST.
@minivanman1356 Well, Because, Some people arent Fon of SUV's, I Hope your Not Offended, I Wasnt offending anyone, y'now, everyone has a diffrent opinion! :)
It is a great van but they messed up with the second row. The 8th seat is a joke (did they copy it from the previous gen Odyssey!?). The 2004-2010 8th seat was perfect for everyone (this is why the new 2011 Odyssey copied them). Another negative is the exposed tracks on the floor. All weather floor mats cannot be used to cover them if one's planning to use the third row. I can imagine grime and dirt stuck on the tracks after many months of use. Terrible!
I just got the 2011 Sienna Limited AWD... I traded in my Infiniti G35X 2007 :-(..... The sienna only had 10 miles on it... The ride is awesome... Great for long trips...
My parents bought one of these things 2 days ago- I drive an 06 Altima and this van seemed REALLY wide compared to what I am accustomed to- It is a really nice van and I hope my folks get a lot of trouble free miles for years to come.
On most minivans, you either stow the seats or remove them and have a flat cargo floor. The Toyota design leaves seat bases (trolleys) on the floor. Here's a picture:
@GSTom1 I don't understand your point. The cargo space is flat ... I know because I own the 2011 Limited and the seat tracks don't interfere in any way with your cargo. I had my van loaded to the teeth with a load of furniture and other stuff and drove from Niagara to Florida. No problems what so ever.
The feature limitation reviews seem to miss is that the 2011 Sienna's car seat anchor setup is pitiful. There's only 1 LATCH anchor/top tether in the back and it's smack in the middle of 2 of the 3 seats! For those with a lot of kids who want to make the most of the seating, this is a deal killer.
Our family has 3 toddlers with a 4th baby on the way, so, while we otherwise loved the Sienna, we ended up going with the Odyssey which has 5 LATCH anchors 6 top tethers. We have 3 car seats in back!
I think the new Quest and Odyssey looks so much better than this van. I personally loved the Sienna, but god knows what the hell they were thinking when they design this years model.
its sad that the 2011 Odyssey Touring beats the 4 cylinder Sienna's fuel economy numbers. But its not surprising since most people who gets the 4 cylinder engine will notice they will have to be heavy on the throttle to get the power which is probably the reason why the gas mileage numbers are disappointing
saw this in auto show and my wife get disapointed on the interior. Our 2006 Odyssey touring is way nicer. Test drove it and its ride as the old sienna maybe the solid axle at the rear (except for the awd). still to soft for me. unlike the odyssey are more sportier.
@patrick560sl Good thing VW does have problems with the peddle huh? that's what happened to Toyota when they're built in USA. No recall on Japanese built.
Wow this is way better than the Toyota Previa I grew up in. Way better looking, especially the SE model. If I were a girl, this would be on my list, but since I'm not this van is sadly not for me. Can't blaim toyota for that though. The TV and rear seats are awesome.
It really disappoints me that Toyota didn't put a hybrid powertrain in here- of all the cars out there, I'd think that minivans would benefit the most from something like this.
I think I'll buy my next vehicle from a company that hasn't had recalls... OH Wait!! That company doesn't exist!
This vehicle is now tops in its class, and probably will be for a while, even with a new Odyssey next year. I'm trading my Camry on a Sienna for more room.
As I like to say for cars ... "gold means old". That's what I think every time I look at an old Buick or Grand Marquis or any other model that is geared toward the older crowd that is also painted that color.

Definitely not the best dedesign in my opinion and can be a problem for some.

Check out 2:59. Not even a flat cargo floor. Remove the center seats and you still have the seat trolleys imbeded into the floor tracks!
