I am not meaning to bash on hockey players or any pro athlete but do any of you think that hockey players are overpaid and its ridicoulos that they complain abought not being paid enough. i mean therefor they take away a season from us the fans and they get paid to play hockey i mean come on.

I hope your not just saying that just hockey players are overpaid . All athletes including football, baseball etc ... are all overpaid. Anyways back to the point, they are paid alot but nobody else can do what they do and unlike most of us who can learn what we need to in school to get qualified for a job, nobody can learn how to become a professional althlete. Your born with a gift so therefore they deserve to be paid alot because the rest of us enjoy putting pressure on them to perform.

I am not saying Hockey players are overpaid i was trying to start a conversation on if pro athletes are paid to much i mean you got firefighters and police officers and soldiers who risk there lives everyday and day for us and do it for a very shity salary and they do something more amazing then any pro athlete will ever do, so personally i think they are overpaid thats a fair statement.

it's the owners fault, if one team is willing to pay a player $4 mil and another team $5 mil, what team would you choose?

and also, hockey players are the lowest paid pro's out of the major sports, baseball and basketball are the worst, football is bad too

anyway, it's just the owners/management competing in the market, and, much like the economy, it will always inflate

Um hockey players are the least paid. In the 08-09 season dany heatley was the highest paid at 10mil. NBA 24.8 mil kevin garnett. NFL 16.6 mil julius pepers. Baseball 28 mil Roger Clemens. David Beckham 6.5 mil. It is sad how the highest hockey player only gets paid 10 mil when it is the toughest sport and way way longer than football. football could be tougher just depends who you talk to. i think Hockey is tougher.
