  • If you like Jaroslaw Suska's patterns, please visit his newest and biggest project at: t k d - b l a c k b e l t . c o m . You can watch his patterns from four cameras with a lot of options (step by step, repeat move etc..). Check out the Demo Version page.

Please give thumbs up, so everyone could see this.

    Thank you!

  • @tkdblackbeltcom i cant find dan-gun on there it only come up with Chon-Ji

  • @megahkill Yes, because at the website there is only demo, you can get patterns from Saju-Jirugi to Ge-Beak on the DVD.

  • i love him!!!

  • He is hitting the "imaginary target" with the middle joints instead of knuckles. Injury-prone.

  • me acabo de dar cuenta que hago la forma muy mal xD

  • my green strip exam is today! i could not remember a thing... untill i watched this! thank you!

  • My master is sajium-nim Alcides Solís 7 dan

  • Nice

i am trying to learn this pattern i've only learnt until the twin forearm block and i'm just having trouble moving on from chon ji's movements lol my instructor is pretty cool too at teaching me but usually the seniors do that :)

    good day

  • precioso!!!

  • I just started Taekwondo about 4-5 weeks ago 1-2 times a week for 2 hours a go and I must say Jaroslaw Suska's vidoes are perfect training material, Although at the moment I am only yellow belts Jaroslaw's videos have allowed me to practice up to green belt pattern with generally accurate movements.

    Thanks Man!

Hopefully since I know my step-sparring and other technical stuff, Ill get to green belt In no time! :)

  • @RyanNewell122 Congrats i just got my yellow belt today ^^

  • Im trying to go back to Rhee taekwondo but i dont remember all my patterns. Jaroslaw, thank you for the help :).

  • wheres the kiyup on 8?

  • @sHaGiNWaGon69 The original versions of the Chang Hon forms, as developed by General Choi and his students, did not have kiaps.

  • Grading tonight.

  • its ok for the forms, but too jerky and rigid for what i like.

  • Wow in GTF i jumped rom White to yello! means double promotion! ( in GTF if you pass you go to white yell from white )

  • Dan gun, for some reasom was really easy for me to learn, picked it up in 10 mins was so happy ! Now I got 3+ months to prefect it ! Great video too.

  • thank you very much.

  • OMG! ty so much helped me earn my yellow belt cause i watched this the day i was testing for it! im subbing ya :)

  • Been training for 57yrs in taekwondo and just perfected the tie-in my belt technique! I have not had a school education, girlfriend, job, dedicated myself in my bedroom from the age of 5 tie-in my whit belt! Dedication is the the key!

  • @Jestery1974 dude your a 62 year old virgin? was it wroth it? evan IP man had wife... he beat...

  • fuck me this bitch is going royely fucking hard... chon-jin took a month... this is a bloodly nightmare.. dan-gun

  • @s420s666s91 Just learn the key aspects of it, then BAM you learn it ! I was taught the routine for 10 minutes and I know it already.

  • Wooooah the Chon-Ji pattern looks like child's play compared to this...oh man -_-;

  • I have done this a few hundred times now, I have been an instructor at my dojo for quite a while, and teaching this form to the yellow belts is probally one of the easiest to teach. Just remember, Practice doesn't make perfect; sloppy practice makes sloppy work, perfect practice makes perfect work.

  • Dzienki! To mi bardzo pomoze!!!!!

  • his rising blocks arent right, im a yellow belt, we do it completely different

  • @Trininty3000 Different schools teach moves different ways. Depends on the type of school. He could be doing it wrong to you, but he's doing it completely correct to me.

  • Master Suska is fabulous, but not perfect (as I am sure he'd be the first to admit). He demonstrates one mistake (repeatedly) in this form. On each of the left hand punches, his wrist is not straight. Striking with the knuckles lifted like that is a good way to injure your hand. I've noticed this in some of his other tul, so perhaps he has had an injury that prevents proper positioning of his wrist?

  • ESTA bien hacer los tules con relojes?

  • POLSKA

  • how do you generate so much power but still look so relaxed.. his balance is impeccable due to his stances which are absolutely perfect.

  • @cobiachi5thkupp What are you talking about? He loses his balance at 00:35. Poor form.

  • @Hotora86 you're right.. lets see your version. Reply and put the link right here on the comments page.

  • @cobiachi5thkupp I don't do TKD.

  • @Hotora86 lol why are you commenting here and telling him how to fix his moves?

  • @Hem3fiction Because of free speech.

  • @cobiachi5thkupp From being relaxed your able to accelerate.

  • Where is the power and where is the perfection? 5th dan seriously? I'd be impressed if you werent a black belt ;)

  • @Myhstic Are you kidding me? ... I'm seriously speechless at your comment. Either you weren't taught right, or your just spouting ignorance. Suska is amazing with his forms...

  • gotta love youtube. i just taught my 5 year old son his pattern in an hour and a half. thanks alot

  • I entered a pattern tournament and got me a gold medal. Haha.

  • nice job

  • Uff. In two days I have my blackbelt exam, and I'm sooo nervous. I can't remeber anything... God Bless Youtube and Suska, I can practice at home now. haha

  • man I've gotta learn this patter in 3 days well its not too hard

  • Beautiful, just beautiful.

  • This guy was born to perform taekwondo patterns keep it up M. Suska

  • All in all he is very good (compared to most on this site) but if he tightens things up a bit he could be perfect!

  • This guy is really sharp

  • The second low block into the high block is one movement with one exhalation of breath. I have yet to see anyone do this properly. I have notice that he never finishes where he started so maybe one or two of his stances are too long.

  • @MrMikQ Yup, you're right. The first "issue" may be his personal interpretation of the form though. :)

  • He's the best because he is Polish.

  • @andreacatto

You forgot to mention how the dude's sine-wave is nice and subtle.

    Noticeable, but not exaggerated.

  • he did it perfectly. All you people who said he missed the starting spot he didn't. That is how it is suppost to be. So when you go back to Baro(paro)(attention) he will be on the starting spot. And that is perfect timing, and everything. You guys are jsut ignorant and can't see when someone does something awesome. Tae Kwon-Do is a great martial art, and you guys can stop disrespecting it. I go to Sundance Tae Kwon-Do, and i have the best instructor ever. I love tkd!

  • ITF TKD is awesome

  • @pookymuffin101 Hey man I was just wondering what Sundance Taekwon-Do was? It's one of the earlier forms of Taekwon-Do, isn't it? I'm getting graded for my Blue Belt this September the 22nd; feeling confident but also quite nervous. I always watch this guy's patterns; they are wonderfully performed.

  • @WarriorOfShadows99 it is my tae kwon-do school. It teaches ITF tae kwon-do. wich is the style this guy is doing. He is great.

  • I have to learn this now . i double graded frm White hehe :D

  • Very good! I was taught to use the lines on the floor to give u guidance! He starts centered then finishes to the right from were he started meaning his stances are not even! The lines form a perfect I shape to follow! No big deal by the way just something I was taught!

  • Did u pass missy??

  • got a a grading today thanks for the help!

  • i performed this pattern on my test on friday, i NAILED it :)

  • Perfect timing... wow...

  • Well done!!!

  • what does "dan-gun" means answer me fast please

  • @kutvn Dan-Gun: Named after the holy Dan-Gun, the legendary founder of Korea in the year 2333 BC.

    It consists of 21 movements.

And it's pattern diagram is a captial 'I'

  • @LuckyBryonyChan I already had the test but thanks anyway

  • @kutvn No problem. Just thought I would help out

  • I mean the WTF. I never saw an ITF school teach all that bouncing.

  • @AStranger999 Its called sine wave technique, its the use of gravity to increase the force of the body as it comes into contact with the target, its a bit like jumping onto a measuring scale

  • That was terrible. If that's how the ITF teaches Dan Gun then no thanks.

  • beautiful rythem, had a bit of a struggle to get back to the starting point, but still one of the best examples of movement and composure on the net, and i still have to meet a student of proper ITF TKD that hasnt used Mr. Suska's videos to help them on their journey to black belt and beyond. The man is a ledgend and deservedly so.

  • Dan gun is named after the holy dan gun the legendary founder of korea in the year 2333 B.C

  • in 0:27 gunuzu najunde mack and then the palmock chukiu mack . . . wasnt the breathing suppose to be continous??

  • thx very much ih have examen in yelow centur thx thx thx

  • is dan-gun or tan-gun???

  • is Dan Gun . . . legendary founder of Korea . .

  • hola saludos de ITF MEXICO. esperemos algundia pueda venir amexico adar un semirario.

  • See, his 7sevent movement, the hand is ca 0.01 cm out of place. How can he do this major mistake?

  • @andreacatto

And who can you know this is perfect? I bet my ass on that some 9. Dan could see a flaw or two in this performance.

  • i see some people on the net that are just awful thi is a good pattern. but some people are just awful, they put up themselves teachin the patterns and say the nams wrong,do the stances wrong, they do it all wrong. just awfull embarrasing if non tkd people saw it and thought we were all that shit lol. gud vids here

  • @taekwondoBEN Don't think I could put what you're talking about any better than what my instructor said.

My instructor has been doing the TKD school that I attend for 25 years and has only graduated 50 some black belts. However, there are schools out there that have been around for 5 years and graduated 100+ black belts. Some places just rush people through, teaching them bad forms. In return they graduate less than par black belts and have poorly taught people under black belt level.

  • Thanks a lot, your videos inspired me to keep training hard on Tul. Mather of fact, Dan-Gun Tul was the one which made me win the Belgium championship two weeks ago.

    Luka, 8° Kup

  • cambie community centre =D richmond..

  • I've got grading tonight, and I just needed to see if I'm doing it right. Thanks for the help. Wish me luck!

  • Which school do you attend? Hope you did well! Our school tested same night and all went great.

  • I go to LAI Taekwon Do (ITF) in Goulburn (Australia). I passed too! ^^

  • @LuckyBryonyChan good luck I'm getting graded next week

  • @LuckyBryonyChan 1 year late, good luck!

  • yeahh every sensei teaches differently, i did taekwon do up to redbelt black tag and then my sensei moved and i got put with this new one (who looked rather similar with tongue peircing and all)(which i thought was eery) and she taught us different. there thats my story lol

  • @kooksies

Erm, why do you refer to your taekwon-do teacher as "sensei"?

  • In my school we are taught to have a certain "stye" to our pattern. Not just to blankly rehearse them like a robot. We have a certain timing and flow to go with our patterns. The way this man is doing his pattern... It looks so... Empty. Where is the feeling or emotion? Odd...

  • frankiefrootloops, the 'bobbing up and down' is called sine wave and is the correct form for this version of ITF Takekwon-do. It is part of General Choi's 'theory of power' and is integral to to all patterns and line work in ITF.

Incidentaly, the spelling varies from ITF (taekwon-do) to WTF (taekwondo), so there is no single correct spelling, it depends what school you follow.

  • We have all been taught different things.. And we all think that we are right because thats what our instructors tell us!

There isnt much point in criticising a pattern unless it is in the style that you practise! Enjoy the TKD you practise, don't waste your time downtalking other styles.

  • @zambokschwammkopf

    Well said. Couldn'n agree more.

  • @zambokschwammkopf

Atleast in ITF-Taekwondo, all of the clubs should go in the steps of General choi hong hi and the books he has written. That is 'ITF-Taekwondo', everything else...is..well, other taekwondo.

  • thats the style of taekwondo numb nuts. im yellow belt in it and i dont give advice on it i learn from it and i dont think you should be any different from except you dont even do this sport

  • For a start its not a sport, giving advise is different from youtube style critisising, this is taekwon-do, not taekwondo

  • frankiefrootloops was giveing advise on sumone who's got a belt he will probaly never get too and i dont care that i spelt the end of it wrong because thats the way i have learnt it

  • oh sorry mate i didnt realise you were talking to frankifrootloops, my bad :)

  • holy shit dude u kik ass, ur warm-up is amazin, you dont look hard or anythink but u would kik my ass, taekwon-do is cool like that, its like my instructor he small and overweight and looks like u cud whoop him but he's amazin

  • I don't do Sun Soo? And you know this how?

  • @frankiefrootloops As stated by

zambokschwammkopf, everyone is taught differntly. Thing is you obviously do not train ICTF or ITF TKD and therefore are ignorantly opinionated and therefore openly disrespecting Yaroslav and General Choi! What martial art teaches that!!!!

  • @frankiefrootloops What are you talking about? Do some research about ITF Taekwondo before saying stuff like that.

  • @frankiefrootloops You're a retard. This is the original ITF Taekwondo with SINEWAVE.

  • si te fijas bien no termina donde empeso! =) pequeño detalle

  • mmm si pero por poquito xD

  • Of itself an ok performance, but disturbing when YouTube masses oft use Mr Suska's performance as some kind of reference. Serious issues: during punch, wrists bent upwards so top knuckles won't hit first. During twin blocks, wrists bend inwards which invariably makes the blocks prone to collapse if struck hard. Mr Suska turns his head as he delivers low block, rather than looking before moving. Punches don't reach in front of his centreline. Given views, worth correcting & re=uploading.

  • arms were so loose... didn't keep his height constant...

  • Are you supposed to in TKD? Don't remember my saeyong-nim ever mention it, but I could just have forgotten. It's been a few years

  • @veshkeat, it is how I was taught, its possible for all the instructors to have different perspectives I guess

  • Suppose to be loose .. when you become stiff, your performance suffers

  • @RepPhilly215, when fighting yes, that is correct, but if your loose while doing form, its not as beautiful or sharp

  • ....huh

  • epic

  • That was beautiful.

The dancing was a bit crap, but the rest was really beautiful :-)

  • Kata is about getting the movents into your muscle memory while at the same time learning how to transfer from one move to another, it also helps get your upper body and lower body working together which improves balance

  • Also it allowes you to systematically find a practical use for every move, you have to know why you do each move in the kata or tul in order to perform it properly

  • Jaroslaw is the best!

  • Comment removed

  • You forgot the second low block after the rising block.

  • what are you talking about?

  • Whoops! I'm not sure why I said that, or what I was thinking, lol. Must have been the wrong video. He was correct.

  • There's no such thing =/

  • and also. And in my opinions forms(katas and tuls) also help you learn how to flow from one move to the next, without it being to awkward. Forms help you learn power, stances, the technique it's self. So before you start saying how pointless and useless a kata or tul is, try learning the reason we practice them in Tae Kwon Do and in other martial arts as well.

  • To all you idiots out there saying a "tul" or "kata" is pointless to learn, you're exactly what I called you. Idiots. The whole point of a tul or kata is to learn the moves, and be able to present them to others. It would be very boring to watch a Tae Kwon Do testing if all they did was stand there doing a punch, then doing a kick, then a punch, and so on and so on.

  • couldn't have said it better myself. yes they serve a very particular purpose. i train in shotokan karate, and we try to visualize an attack while performing our kata. usually these are inexperienced people making these comments, and if they train in any style, they have no respect for the fundamentals of karate. every movement means something. by the way, beautiful form with this guy. so much different from the way we move in shotokan. i've also been watching larry tatum, and some kenpo forms.

  • I know he is from Poland. He is great!

  • Moreover, the technique is that one does not blow up from the waist, but at the height of the breast.

  • It makes it a bad, right?

  • "Dan Gun" Dan Gun is the holy Dan Gun, legendary founder of Korea in 2333b.c.

  • Probably the BEST Dan Gun that ive seen on here

  • dan gun is the guy that founded korea right?

  • yes.

  • everybody should learn from your tul.. wtf´s principally.

  • this guy has got the best tul paterns i think, and ive seen many.

i dont like wtf tuls instead of korean team ones

  • We have to learn it over the head. Not next to the head.

  • Well, I have to learn it next to the head. I don't think my sabum is wrong.

  • just ask yourself, what good would it do to have it next to your head if someone is striking AT your head?

my sabum says over the head and i don't see why it shouldn't be.

  • You want it over the head so that the force of the blow, like a hammerfist, doesn't push your arm down enough to make contact with the skull.

  • No its head high

  • i think you're right. chookyo makgi is over the head, it's in the twin forearm block that it's supposed to be slightly next to it.

  • It seems to me that he Jaroslaw Suska, doing more things wrong. See. Others tuly.

  • Chookyo makgi he does wrong. I have a true?

  • No, I think he all does right. Why do you think that his chookyo makgi is wrong?

  • Definitely crisp form. I'm glad you guys/gals post so much TKD instructionals. I just started this form in November, and these videos are super helpful! I train BJJ usually, but took up TKD to learn solid striking techniques. I'm glad I did it, cause I'm having so much fun, and have learned so much in a short period of time, and I think videos like this are helping me out, practicing at home.

  • Nice video. If one isn't aware of this, his breathing sounds are "Chi" sounds and actually enhance his power and abilities to continue through his "Tul" or Pattern with full power, instead of wearing out due to using too much strength. In person one would realize the kind of Power he is exhibiting throughout his Pattern of Dan Gun. Well done...! If I may say so, sir.

  • So bassicly that noise is a short sharp kiai?

  • in this video he took his time to show his pattern of dan gun step by step so you can see each move how they are performed.

  • its that AND the way ITF people are taught, they are taught to release all their power at the end of every move thats sorta why he's so slow

  • Awesome! Tnx for help!

  • i dont know anything about this sport, but i can imagine its really hard to do all the steps in the right order.

like dancing but a lot more complicated

  • Nah,not that hard,u just need to pay attention when being thought these forms and practice them and u should learn the one that u are though in less than a day(in my case)

  • You thing you need to remeber are the Froms. thats all... I have a hard time with that since being injuryed for a long time.
