Call me a freak but I actually enjoy the needle! I used to be deathly afraid of it before my first donation, but the fear went away afterwards. I think my enjoyment of being pierced by the needle comes from knowing that I overcame fear.
@o0oVi3tGirlo0o nah i just did it a few days ago and it was nothing your arm gets kind of numb because of the blood pressure pump thing around your arm so it doesnt hurt that bad. this girl seems to have had fear of needles and blood and probably public speech (lol) but yea its not that bad i was scared at first but i figured someone who needs it as life or death is probly really scared too. :) p.s make sure and eat like a sandwich before you go to insure you dont pass out
I can stand to watch a butterfly go in but not the big one (hard on you, easy on the cells). Although I get antsy about the time they break out the alcohol as that's the last step before putting in the needle. Akin to giving any arm bacteria a bath in Everclear.
@sirtadz They told me many years ago not to faint or they would have to do a lot of paperwork. I only remember one pass-out and I helped out at the drives.

I was awfully nervous my first time. They let me relax for a bit and my pulse dropped below 100. Now because I take beta blockers it's impossible for me to get up to 100, but our local blood bank will let you go as fast as 150 bpm. They used to have a lower limit of 50, but they were disqualifying runners?
bro i was with my girl and they were doing this at my school and this cocky dude calling everyone a pussy for not doanting goes rite up and am there relaxing getting my blood suck out and that the doctor shows the cocky kid the big ass niddle and he just pass out just by looking at it so i panic and started shaking i was oo sht am next.
Im giving blood in 4 day, and im pooping myself! I recon ill faint, as I fainted when I got my belly pierced! And almost faint when I get piercings...
sweetie be brave, your doing a wonderful thing by giving blood. don't worry about crying its scary your first time. all the respect to you and hope you go again :o)
@musicgirl999 well not imediatly the blood they take is not to be touched until they the blood services test small vials of blood for diseses and flu's.
@musicgirl999 Don't give blood to get free STD testing. Call 800-342-AIDS and they can put you in touch with a provider of free STD testing. If you're curious about something, give blood to find out your blood type!
I just gave blood today. i watched it go in, it was cool lol, and i dont think it hurt, but some people might think it does, and well, that sucks but she is doing it for a good cause
I watched the woman put the needle in me lol. I decided to do the machine that separates the plasma and blood for my first time which was pretty cool.
It hurts, but not nearly as bad as it looks here(for less than a second). horrifying more than painful. Just relax and enjoy your half hour of peace and quiet knowing you've helped somebody else with hardly any effort at all.
it hurt really bad my first time too. I figured out after giving over a gallon now that the more tense you are the more it hurts. I figured out that if you relax as much as possible you barely feel it. It can actually be enjoyable. Time out of the house, away from work loungen around ect... plus you save lives!
It's a needle, it doesn't hurt nearly as much as this woman is making out. Jesus
