hahaha im 15 and i just got my first bow, a 1953 bear recurve, can't wait till my buddy gets one so we can go out and give this a try! The ACDC was a great touch haha
"No geese were harmed in the making of this video." Sorry i couldn't help myself. I usually try one archery waterfowl hunt a year so i know it's all about the fun and not limiting out. Keep at it over the past four years I bagged anout 5 birds with my bow. Lots of fun GL in the future
i enjoyed this video so much, best bowhunting vid on youtube i think. your groans everytime you missed one were priceless. 4:20 i could not stop laughing, letting off your arrows at the same time and then groaning at the same time XD how many arrows did you lose that day?
@aaronrushton1, Glad you enjoyed the vid! Didn't lose any arrows...intentionally. We were prepared to though. I made my flu flu's from old aluminum shafts I had laying around, and used old broadheads that weren't good for anything else.
This is totally awesome...lol I dont know about shooting STRAIGHT UP though...gotta trust your buddy with your life that day...but awesome video...I would love to try it....THANKS THIS IS THE BEST KIND OF HUNTING....YOU AND THE ANIMAL HAVE ABOUT THE SAME CHANCE....
now that's bow hunting!..I'd love to spend a day like this sending up arrow after arrow .. you guys deserved a fat goose falling from the sky that day.. but I guess it needs a lot of luck shooting them flying so fast. could you get a one also with an arrow that's already falling down? very entertaining video! congrats
What fun. $200 worth of arrows later. Next time try a 22. You still won't hit anything but at least you won't have to drive each other to the hospital with arrows sticking out of your heads. Very entertaining.
Why not wait untill the geese land. You are using broadheads. That's really dangerous. Flat points will work and are safer. Snare tips are the best choice. You might of bagged a limit with snare tips. Try them next time.
My respect boys, instead of you I would get crazy to see so many birds and couldn't get any of them:)) You just had a good time and that is more important!!!
Greetings
dang guys now thats the way to hunt lots more fun and if you actually hit a bird it is a big thing. good to see this type of hunting still exist. oh have you ever tried the sprial flu-flu's.
This is seriously one of the most awesome hunting videos of all time. I bet it's more fun shooting all day and missing than hitting a single goose with a shotgun.
hello I know this vid may be old but I just have to ask if you are willing to answer, just wonder how hard it was to retrieve the arrows if at all. also was wondering Ive seen a lot of vid useing flu flu and thought about getting some set up myself and was wondering also if 3 would work instead of 4 just for curiosity ive never seen a 3 feather set up and was just wanting to know if any of you guys tried it with 3 instead of 4. thanks for the vid it was great
It was very easy to retrieve arrows. They usually came down in the sandy river bottom. We never lost a single arrow. There are many ways to rig flu flu arrows. It all depends on how far/high you want them to fly. Three feathers would work fine, they'd just go a little further than four. The amount of helical (curve) your fletching will also make a difference.BTW, I used old bent aluminum shafts I had laying around and made my flu flues out of them. That way I'm not out anything if I do lose one.
awsome video, it was really epic when the flocks started to fly over you. i really like how you use a bow. i think it's just cheating if you use a shotgun. you should just kill what your going to eat or use. thanks for hunting the good old way.
lol great vid what bows were u useing and a little advice decoys and calls will go along way for u they will come in closer and ur more likely to shoot one
Thanks for sharing this. Very good film and made me laugh! And your comment about doing this all the day without getting a bird instead of limiting out with shotgan...That tells me lot about you thoughts and that gives you 5/5. I am fan of traditional archery! Greetings.
i know i commented before but i just gotta say it... shoot amongst them ha ha that would have been grea if you guys got some but it still looks like fun to me... i really wanna try it
It may sound crazy, but I would rather do this all day and not kill a single bird than limit out ten times using a shot gun. We had that much fun. We were extremely close to bringing down birds, and had birds rolling and dodging arrows. It's very achievable. Just a matter of time ;) Glad you guys are enjoying the video.
Now that is hunting!

How often do bows need to get repaired(re-strung, etc)? Are they cheaper than firearms?
