Just bought an Apple Ipod Touch 3g 32 gigs for parts or repair for $25, hardly used but the docking connector will need to be replaced and from what I have seen it's not as simple as replacing a cracked digitizer, it involves desoldering and soldering which I don't mind, I can't seem to find the connector part anywhere but U.K and China. I also bought another 3g 8 gig for parts that has a good connector any chance i can just use that one? Any idea what it will run to get it fixed by pros?

@1zacster Uhmm, ya but you also have to unscrew all the components off the backplate. This isn't a 2G version where the backplate is easy to replace, I wouldn't risk it, too much that could go wrong.

@deniseaguilar1 Please, please... with any sophisticated piece of machinery, you should always wait HOURS not minutes to dry it. By turning it on within 4hrs, you may have caused damage to it that cannot be reversed (50/50 chance of this possibility).

Because you can't remove the battery fast enough after it got wet, it might be dead.

You can, however, try to do a complete restore (which will erase everything on it and reload it to factory specs). Maybe only the memory was affected. :)

@FRAYZEO8 Honestly, you'd have to have opened devices in the past (as practice) and reassembled them as if no one had opened them, to try this one. I personally wouldn't even risk it, unless your screen is cracked (or something else broken) and you're trying to replace it.

Since the iPod Touch Prototype video leaked and it had a camera in the back center, I think the reason apple didn't release it with a camera is because of the fact they wanted to display to the public how secure they are as a company.

The reason Apple didn't release it with a camera this year is because they were having technicalities. Two possible technicalities may have been:

1) The backlight made the pictures too bright to view.

2) Firmware issues. The camera may have been conflicting with another application or line of code in the firmware, or Apple couldn't create the firmware in time due to other technicalities.

Bullshit? The iPhone and iPod Touch DO NOT have the same firmware. Yes, it looks like the iPod Touch has a dumbed down iPhone firmware, but it isn't as easy as it seems. The iPod Touch comes with a couple of different apps to the iPhone and also has different lines of code. The LCD has the backlight inside? No shit? Read carefully, asshole: The backlight's light fills the iPod Touch's INNER case, therefore some of that light interferes with the camera. Do your research, you arrogant ass.

I personal think the Ipod needs more memory. After the 3.0 update I keep having to restart the thing as net browsing come slow and clogs down.

Also it needs much more battery life, but technology has become the problem.

They could use Lipo Batterys which give out twice that of a lithium ion, but these can easily blow up!
